See what annoys me about this window... last minute signings like the boy last season who aren't at Tannadice for the deal to be done. Has the feel of last minute panic rather than one where they want to be here and are ready to play

Happy days.

Scott burns was saying we are looking at a defensive option today.... 🤞somebody who can play rb and cb at a push would be my preference.

Still hoping we get some defensive cover in.

As an aside (and I don't believe we've got the finances to make it happen) but saw Kevin van veen is being touted for a loan move from groningen.... he'd rip up the championship

How's that?

Club is pissing money due to the effects of relegation - you think he's taking it?

Watched the game on BBC.

A truly horrific watch for the large part but we are super short in quality.....but we (just) got the job done.

Inverness were set up in a very inverness way. Big lumps at the back who were able to limit all the high balls we pumped up to them....I thought watt put in his best efforts but it was going to be tough. In the grieve incident in the first few minutes, you really hoped he would have looked up earlier...and could have played in Middleton. It frustrates me that we often lack movement when in possession of the ball which limits our attacking play. Also felt that we often play the ball slightly behind a player who is running rather than in front and allowing them to take it in their stride.

To me, there was no chance grimshaw could move his hands - he was a foot away from the striker who should have headed it

Most importantly, 3 points with a bunch of injuries and we move on to the next game

@tangy with regards to Cudjoe.

I thought he was trying too hard, trying to beat one man too many. I think the lad needs to sort out his contract one way or another and let him get back to concentrating on his football.

There is definitely a talent in there, hopefully it's a Tannadice where we see the best of it.

To me, probably due to his agent, he plays for himself, Greedy and Trying to force his "Numbers" which leads to bad decisions, I think JG is pretty frustrated with him

and what ive noticed is he has no pace. Couple of times he got played down the wing yesterday and got outpaced by an Arbroath CH

He's only got wee legs 😀 probably needs 3 steps for every 1 of Kevin holt

Not hating on cudjoe btw - just frustrating knowing there is talent there but we aren't currently seeing it. If he were to turn it on, he'd be one of the players that I'd be confident could step back to the prem.

Is his contract talks at a stalemate? Tbh this kind of performance won't have united desperate to up his offer

Solid enough performance imo. Won it at a canter. Even though we didn't score for a while, never felt the result was in doubt.

Thoughts on Middleton.... he might not be the best but he had good effort and in saying all that, he did exceptionally well for his goal. Bust a gut to reach it and a great finish.

Also a shout out to watt. He played in moult for the first, when it was easier to have a shot himself. I think he appreciated he needed a goal.

Disappointed in wee cudjoe. Had 1 or 2 runs at the defence early on but seemed to lack effort when not in possession.

Got to be happy though.

I'm nit a huge fan of 'assists' counting but how was Middleton with 4 assists?

We've all given him a slogging- signs of him coming into some form?

Picked up a kit today for 5s and wondered everybody's thoughts on it?

Like the top design although something gives me Sunday amatuer vibes about it? Maybe just not used to errea being a real top level kit maker?

Tye drawstring in the shorts seems pretty bad though. Like a cheap old bit of rope.

Overall Like the kit and interested to see how it wears over a few games/washes

Just watched the highlights there.

United have to challenge the red for a couple of reasons

1) cudjoe did absolutely nothing wrong AFTER being fouled
2) the linesman gives the red card - he calls the ref over, after the ref has no reaction having been closer AND at a better angle. The referee team can only give a card for something they have SEEN and from the angle he saw it, it's unlikely he saw elbow to face, hand to face or whatever. He just saw a reaction from the morton player. Again, if you don't see it, you can't give it.

If we don't concede, we don't need to score many. Not saying its ideal but maybe its just his priorities.

Maybe there is still budget for a striker too? Who knows

Happy for the lad if he can go out and get goals. Loads of potential but not quite ready for our first team - so probably the best outcome. Did both goodie and Russell the world of good

I don't think so. Not the buses I've been on but there's always been a Liberal amount of pit stops on the way. This potential change would mean it would stop you drinking almost entirely - or get so full of it while you can, you will be hammered.

Yeah, agree to an extent but then surely that's on the other parties who were completely incompetent in putting a challenge against a bumbling oaf. Remember too that Scottish and Northern english share a lot in the way of political leanings - so we aren't stranded and unable to change things.

But back on topic - the current govt and their civil servants coming up with hair brained ideas like this are bellends

Did some quick sums based on the English figures.

Of all attendees to football games in 21/22, less than 1% of those were arrested. The gigues I found were inclusive of all arrests and not specifically alcoholic based. I couldn't also find total figures for league 1, 2 or conference leagues (or welsh) - so the number of under 1% would probably significantly drop.

20% of the arrests were for violent conduct - which I'd suggest, some of these are down to people's desire to fight rather than being driven by booze (some will be).

The social factors that came out - generally,  there was a downturn pre covid and then it spiked after covid (still below figures from 2011 by a good way). I'd suggest in a season or 2, the number would continue to decrease again once people got over the excitement of being able to go out again.

Such a heavy handed response and in honesty, will either drive people away from away days, which in turn kills the atmosphere or force people into binge drinking before you get a bus for a 1-2 hour journey. Crazy

Seen this? Govt looking to stop folk travelling by bus to games to not be able to let you have a drink on the way to the games?

Aside from the fact that a drink is all that gets you through our games sometimes, surely this encourages binge drinking or will kill away supports both in terms of numbers going to games and the atmosphere generated at the game?

Question re the boys rumoured to be wanting to take over the club (and I've no idea who they are or what they do) but for those that do, will they have the required resources to satisfy the level of investment that the fans are looking for?

Also, when igren first came in. He spanked a ton of cash to get us out of the league and it didn't work. We'd be saying he was foolhardy if he was offering inflated wages.

It's not fun but holding off for the right players makes better business sense. Maybe we will be in a position to move before our competitors in January?

Also birighitti gtf

I guess if we've a budget of x and we can get 2 average players or 1 good player, it's what big handsome has decided to do.

Can't think that I've seen smith play but must be an upgrade on what we have there and gives us more cover to get away from having to pull grimshaw to rb all the time.

Up top is still a worry. Maybe sadat is nearing a comeback? Which would give us moult, watt, mcleod and sadat.
