Away Strip

Una Strassen play in red, so i am assuming it must be revealed next week perhaps?

As, we will have to wear it away in Luxembourg in under 3 weeks time.

Re: Away Strip

Seen the clubs pic with the strip on the hangar.

From the tiny wee bit of the strip we can see around the collar, it looks white and black.

Though I guess we will find out in a couple of hours.

I'm wondering if the Utd Lion emblem is going to be more prominent in some way.

It’s cream I believe. And the badge is apparently just the lion, no crest behind it.

Think it's kinda 'off-white' , not quite magnolia or cream.

Looks a lot whiter in certain lighting.

Re: Away Strip

Always find it amusing when I see folk that they want Adidas to produce our kits again.   The kits we had in the 80s were the best we've had but times have changed, if we had Adidas kits now, we'd get a generic template that 100 other clubs would be wearing - see our Nike kits for examples - but with Macron and now Errea we've had some really nice bespoke designs - this one being one of those.   Cracking shirt.

Agree with most of that but the new away kit is a template. Millwall have the exact same design for their away kit with Errea.

It’s worth remembering that in 1980 Adidas were trying to break into the football shirt market. At this time Umbro and Bukta were the major manufacturers of shirts and Admiral was the new entrant.

Liverpool were the first top club to use Adidas, but, to gain entry to the market, Adidas had to court smaller clubs - us and Aberdeen. At the time Adidas only manufactured in West Germany. Very simply, anything Adidas made in the early 80’s was phenomenal (United’s two tone cream and black tracksuit, lasted me 20 years).

Errea is an excellent company. They have innovated with fabrics, dyes and work tirelessly with clubs to produce a shirt which is as individual as it can be from a generic base. The day of a bespoke shirt is long gone.

I do think both our home and away shirts are brilliant.

I think United were the first Scottish club to have Adidas.

“The day of a bespoke shirt is long gone”—-Macron seem to be producing a lot of bespoke efforts. The website “football shirt culture” is good for seeing new kits. A lot of the Macron ones are tremendous. The Sampdoria one being a stand out.

Re: Away Strip

It's a shame the way Adidas have went. I wouldn't want them back in their current guise.

The strips they have produced for Celtic for example are garbage. Off the hangar designs and the quality looks cheap.

Very happy with Errea.

Agreed, Macron were good previously too.

Aye the shirt might be template ultimately -  but it has the lion incorporated to the design at least so it has some part of the club in it, not just the exact same shirt that Sunday league teams will be wearing ala what Adidas or Nike would give us.

That makes sense, the cream had been rumoured for a long time. Still not taking to the home top after seeing it in person, hopefully thursday gives us a reason to remeber it
