A friend of mine who happens to be a football agent sent this when asked.
'Rules are pretty black & white. As Neilson will NOT reach the age of 23, during his first season with Hearts, United were due compensation---
PROVIDING United made him a written offer, 14 days before expiry of his existing contract. This must go to "last known address" or delivered personally. Financially the new offer must at least equal the current deal.
It beggars belief that United didn't know this, & that their claim has been groundless from the outset.
Shambles!'

Since the schools were mentioned in this thread, you cannae punish the whole class for the misbehaviour of a few.
The SFA/SPFL should have put more forceful penalties in place for individuals and clubs, but they've backed off with every potential decision, from Sevco, to the Sheep and now to Celtic.
If the season is paused, which I think would be incredibly inconsistent of whoever puts that in action, it's down to the football authorities and the arrogance of the miscreants.
Well Pat, at our school there was Omertà. We all got punished to protect the identity of the guilty.
Points deduction is the only language that the clubs will understand. The SPFL/SFA need to be come involved...…..oh wait a minute !

What is crystal clear, and I say this with great sadness, is that the club and fans are now at war.
Each fan must tonight look into their soul and decide which side they are on.
The side of true United fans who have been with the club through thick and thin, or the side of the owners.
Some supporters clubs will undoubtedly side with the club and its efforts to form a new foundation. They are entitled to do so.
Others will look to the past and make their own mind up.
You decide.A few thoughts:
The clubs statement was very badly judged and totally set the wrong tone.
The Foundation's response was even worse, especially the first paragraph.
(I pay into in the Foundation btw)
There is nothing here which cannot be solved by both parties growing up and taking a wee reality check.
The club should not be turning down a 6 figure sum even if it means issuing them with some shares.
The Foundation need to accept that Ogren is the owner.
But:
We have too many fans groups and their behaviour is a constant source of embarassment.
Fuck having to put up with another 5 years of the shite off the park we have endured, which the vast majority were sick to the back teeth of and had nothing to do with.
Make no mistake, this conflict seeped onto the park before and it will do so again.
In a football sense, we have made huge strides even though we are nowhere near there yet (a fact acknowledged by the manager).
And yet:
A cynic would suggest that you have been desperate for this to happen judging by the above post.
Bizarre behaviour.
Its pretty obvious to most on here who this is. If I'm right, he had his application refused by the Foundation, given his shite stirring record.....the only person blocked from being a member......lets leave it at that.

The Foundation I believe were in negotiation on a confidential basis with the Club re investing in Youth Development as discussed at the AGM at which TWO United directors were present. Recent discussions (Although Mark Ogrens name is on the statement) was largely with one of those directors. It appears that based on what I have heard the goalposts were moved rapidly by this person. Of course the Steering group can't agree to new proposals to release funds without running it by the members first. To say this statement came as a surprise is an understatement. Like us all can't wait to see the full detail. This director is behind the release, not Ogren, who leaves these matters to his lietenants.
Fidel, is it a director or a chief executive type person.
The latter

there is an article in todays Scottish Daily Mail suggesting that he is about to launch a bid for a franchise in the National Independent Soccer Association. Cant find it online but saw it on the back page of the printed version.
This has his and Martins fingerprints all over it.
Anybody find a link?

I get that feeling too.
The term 'Sold a Pup' by our Snake oil Salesman of a Chairman spings to mind.
Drastic surgery was required to the squad, but he was given a budget for Elastoplast..

hate to agree, but have to.
St.Mirren show no signs of slipping up.
Playoffs....sadly I don't thing we are even favourites for this as Inverness are a big physical team, who will get into the playoff positions, the way they are going at the moment.
If we are going to make any more signings MUST be big lads, not scared to tackle.
That is our only hope

Happy St Andrews Day too.
I'm not sure about the history of Andrew, although his bones were reputed to have been carried to many corners of the world, to such an extent that he may well have had the skeleton of a dinosaur.
Normally, b&t, historians place his death as being in Greece, and his being born in Galilee (now Israel). And he's the patron saint of a lot of places other than Scotland (due to his huge skeleton?)
January: I'd like to think a giant centre forward will arrive on January 1st.I stand corrected then. Knew greece was involved someplace tho

Stubbs and McIntyre not in frame because of this and could be proving a sticking point in whatever’s going on wi Lazlo.I would worry about any Manager that would agree to have his Assistant Manager foisted onto him without having any prior knowledge of him.
Kinda screams 'yes man' from the off.
Spot on TEK. Cast your mind back to Golac....he wasn't allowed to bring in his own team.....his 'assistant; had resigned from the FA Academy at Lillieshall and had to run back with his tail between his legs. He was undermined from day one, and remarkably still managed t win a Cup because he was a great man manager. Laszlo will have the same issue, but I think he is a more 'forceful' personality than oor Ivan was. it will be a rollercoaster.
This remains speculation......lets see what pans out!

Why would folk volunteer to hand out leaflets for an hour when they don't know the content?
And therefore, why are you asking on behalf of DUSF?
Dinnae bother with my second query, and for what it's worth, I want a successful group to unite the support.
Sorry, nothing sinister, I havent seen the leaflets,Im not on the steering group, but would assume it will be similar to whats on the website. I was simply asking because they are looking for helpers and I was asked. I dont know why people simply cant ask these questions thru the website as Id indicated in my initial post.
