Dundee United » Motherwell vs United - Saturday 14th December » 15/12/2024 9:03 am |
Can’t believe how poor defensively we were yesterday. Gallagher and Holt poor IMO.
Middleton never a left back.
Their third goal though - the ref stops play for a Motherwell head knock in their half, meantime the ball has been pinged out to their right wing and Middleton has battled their boy for the ball and is in the middle of that battle when the ref stops the game. He then restarts the game by giving Motherwell the ball unchallenged in that attacking position.

Rank rotten performance, BUT, they did keep fighting until the end so that's at least one positive for me.
The ref... this boy is unreal. The freekick he gave Hibs that they got their goal from - fuck me. We completely switched off there though and allowed the left back to put that cross in.
Would love a forward like the boy who scored the two for Motherwell last week - pace to burn and a handful for defenders.
You mean the boy who hadn't scored or assisted all season until we made it easy for him?
Aye, that boy.

Still blows my mind anybody, regardless of your political leanings, could watch Trump speak and think "he seems a stable. articulate, well rounded individual, I think I'd like him to be our leader".
That Project 25 stuff is frightening.
C'mon Harris.
We forget that nobody could understand why anyone voted for George W Bush. We all knew very little about middle America.
It’s not like you can fact check Trump. He tells stories and people believe what they want to believe.
Remember Farage managed to convince the majority of UK electorate that leaving the EU would be a good thing.
True. Dubya seems relatively sane compared to Frump,
Some of the comments from speakers at his rally at MSG the other night- thon boy Cardone saying "her pimp handlers will destroy our country;" about Harris and the other guy David Rem calling her "the devil" and "the anti-Christ."
Pretty depressing stuff. That's of course after they played the song Dixie at the start of the event. They are not even trying to hide it anymore.

Played well first half, second half we played for a draw which we looked like we were going to get but for one slack bit of play. Still, think we have a decent outfit given the player we had out.

Crazy stuff. I thought the first 85 mins was probably our poorest performance of the season so far. Dalby completely alone upfront with no support and we only looked dangerous those couple of time when Middleton went on both of those runs that Dalby scored from.
Fair play though, we never gave up and that’s all I want to see from a United team.
Some cameo from Meshack - first 30 seconds on the park, falls on his arse trying to flick the ball through his legs then gets booked then goes and does that!
Dundee United » Utd Vs St.Johnstone - Saturday 24th September » 25/8/2024 7:43 am |
First half utter pish, couldn’t string 2 passes together.
Thought that was Trapanovski’s poorest game for us so far, was getting nothing out of their right back… well until he skinned him to set up the first goal!
Looked so much better after Louis came on.
The ref… their number 11 committed two cynical fouls in the space of 2 minutes just before the red card incident - no booking. Then the boy gets a yellow for that challenge on Ferry which was nothing really.

Great first hour, then fell out of it. Think it was obvious that we needed fresh legs on way before we did.
Trap really needs to score that chance when through on the keeper.
Can't be too critical of him though as he was excellent; think he's gonna be a great player for us.

Yep, lets get back to a back 4 in this game please. I don't see Miler as a right-back but he should be able to play there for this game.

Thought it was a mixed bag yesterday.
Passed the ball around very well at times but thought we also looked very disorganized at times again.
Forbes, wow what an hit - he impressed me at Brechin, came on at half time and played right wing-back, got forward all the time and looked very skillful. Clearly has lots of ability.
Dundee United » Dundee United Vs Stenhousemuir - Tuesday 16/7/24 » 17/7/2024 7:58 am |
Much better than Saturday, against much poorer opposition right enough. The Macedonians both look good, think they could be very good players once up to speed. Given he's been on the bench for both games, I wonder if Watt has been told by Goodwin he's going to be a bench-warmer this season and he's taken the huff.
Dundee United » Falkirk vs Utd - Saturday 13th July 3PM » 14/7/2024 6:38 am |
The only boy who came out of that game with any shred of credit was Ferry. Thought he played well. As for the rest, as has already been said I thought they all looked so unfit and one-paced. Trapanovski looked bright in the first 20 mins then faded badly.
Also thought we looked very unorganised. We’re all over the place at times.
Playing Miller in central midfield next to Sibbald? Where did that come from?

What a shite tournament it's been btw. Boring, boring, robotic football.
What has happened to our game?
P.s. England are gonna shitehouse their way to winning this just like Greece did. Brutal stuff.
Pep Guardiola happened to it, And now every coach regardless of what level they are at try to copy his whole philosophy. I am longing for the day when a coach comes along and says "lets not do this any more" and goes back to trying to have individual skilful players expressing themselves and taking risks again.

My Hertz supporting colleagues thought Fraser was rotten for them. Still, we know he has talent and hopefully his time down in England would see him coming back as a more all-round player. If he signs that is of course.

Re the co-commentators. I was over in Germany for a week and watched a couple of games in our hotel. Whatever German channel it was on they only had a commentator, no co-commentator; I obviously could not understand them but got me thinking how refreshing it would be to go back to just having a commentator and not have some wittering half-wit making a comment about every other thing that happens.

Thought Ferry looked skilful and very good technically, the Croat boy looked solid. O'Donnell looked very good too.
As said, first game after a weeks training so we can't take much out of it, its was a fitness exercise.

Tough opener at Falkirk - they will be on a high from last season but of course going unbeaten can means a huge hangover the following season. We need to make up for that shit-show there in the dinghy cup last year.

Totally forgot about the boy Docherty. I assume he'd be on a pretty big wedge at Hull to probably out of our price range? Who knows.
As for Banks - another kid who was hyped up way beyond his ability I fear. As mentioned, he could not wait to get away, I suppose you cannot blame these kids who see the bright lights of the Premier League dangled in front of them. A no thanks for me on that one I think.

Fucking whirlwind. I miss my youth.
I also miss the bit of mystery and surprise about the past and supporting a club, and i know i say that as a massive hypocrite running a Football Forum. But i remember my huge surprise seeing 'Rover' emblazoned on our top that day as we walked out.
The days before the internet and us all knowing everything days/weeks/months in advance.
Same for me mate. I was a massive Nirvana fan, Kurt was discovered on the 8th, the day before we played Aberdeen in the semi. I had bought two Nirvana 10" singles form HMV in the Muraygate that day and then saw the news of him being found on the news that night.
Supersonic released on the Monday - a sliding doors moment in my youth that weekend - I was 19.
