Completely agree Danzaa, been in his company a couple of times, all be it briefly, no personal grievance with him at all....But the league never has and never will lie, we are woefully short of where we should be....
And this is based on the clubs structure and costs and not the high high hopes of a fan...

Just wondering how much other posters have seen of Macleod??? I've only seen snippets of his cameo performances so can't really comment on his undoubted talent, but we bemoan other clubs getting big fees for their young talent then state that our young talent can't be worth that amount....

I'm not sure half of you watch the same Tony Watt that I have.
Does he have ability, absolutely. Does he have the attitude, workrate, desire and fight for a relegation scrap, no he does not.
You can't turn it on like a tap, trudging off against Hearts and following it up against County with another uninspiring appearance from the bench before dragging his lazy arse off the pitch. Fast forward to the Saints game and he was my MOM by some distance with all the correct minerals required for a player representing a club deep in the shit.
Hes had more clubs than Tiger Woods and far better coaches than Fox have tried and failed to get the best from him on a consistent basis.
Time to get rid and cut our losses and get someone in who will apply themselves better on the pitch on a regular basis.
Just to clarify, I'm in the not fussed camp..... Seems to me the only person not desperate to see the player many manager, coaches and fans believe could be there is Tony himself....

Tony Watt really is a strange one, big name signing, decent money spent at time to bring in leagues leading goal scorer, scores late winner against local rivals in last game and yet everyone a bit not fussed if he goes...

Gospel btw, Zander Clark was meant to go to Stoke, MacNamara fannied about regards wages and it broke down. Utd made an offer which was more than Zander was on at Saints, they held off as he wanted a move to English championship but again wages was the stumbling block.
Utd dropped interest.
Zander eventually signed with Hearts for £200 a week less than he was on at Saints.
Worse still for him, he doesn't even know if he is truly 2nd choice back up to Gordon.
Sometimes it's players ability that lets the player down, more times than enough it's agents and greed !
If this is true, and I've no reason not to believe you, then it truly highlights the difficulties getting deals over the line. What a fck up by his agent for his career......

If there is a clique that got the manager the sack, a clique which ultimately is behind the embarrassment of the 7-0 & 9-0, a clique that obviously do not value the colours and our badge...then they should be the ones the sporting director should sort put pronto....fakes and phonies to a man.....

Interesting - to be fair I'd missed that - there is a different treatment for footballers compared to other workers. However, I go back to my original point that it's absolutely just the same as before for non-EU players (including in relation to the retained Exceptions Panel) and significantly harder for EU players. So my original comment still applies (i.e. that bringing in non-EU players being easier is total nonsense - it's just the same as before).Prior to Brexit, the Exemptions Panel would only permit the signing of a player if there wasn't an EU national capable of doing a similar job. The usual criteria applied in establishing this (International appearances, rating of current club/league, age etc). Realistically the only way to get a non-EU player is if they were of the type or reputation and quality that put them outside of United's budget, so we haven't signed any over the last few years (Sporle, Powers and Harkes all had EU passports). Kawashima was the exception, and you may remember his signing took several months, but ultimately the fact he had dozens of caps for Japan convinced the panel. He was an unusual signing though, as a rule of thumb we don't sign players of that profile.
…
Post-Brexit and the end of FoM, there is no longer a requirement to prove that an EU national can do a similar job, so players like Cudjoe and the Australian players we are linked with are much, much more likely to receive a work permit. They do still have to meet certain standards set down by the SFA Exemption Panel, but these are much less prescriptive.
In layman's terms, this is a "football version" if the points based system we heard so much about during Brexit, whereby cannot be signed purely on the basis of being an EEA national (as an example, Patrick N'Koyi and Rodney Sneijder would be very unlikely to be granted a work permit now, but were signed without question pre-Brexit as they had an a
