I'd be careful with that. If we start cutting their allocation futher they'll respond by cutting our allocation for reverse fixtures at Dens. You only need to look at what's happened to the Old Firm to see what petty tit-for-tat behaviour can lead to. If we get the ET, GF and the Shed that's absolutely fine for us. Cutting away allocations for derbies diminishes the atmosphere.

I thought Paton was poor yesterday. Continually was caught on his heels when balls were played into him. Considering he's been here for about 5 weeks his lack of sharpness was concerning. He looked out of his depth.

He might yet come good but I was extremely disappointed with Campbell on Saturday. I thought he'd have a lot more about him given the level he has played at. He wouldn't be anywhere near my preferred XI right now.

Mixed thoughts on today, brave of Jim to go 442 at home and I respect him lining up in such a manner. At the same time, from about the half hour mark as Rangers started to shake off the weariness from midweek, I felt 2 in the middle caused us to lose the midfield battle and we never really recovered the rest of the game.

Felt Stephenson and Sevelj didn't have their best games but think the set up didn't work in their favour particularly as Igamane started to drop in to the gaps they were leaving.

I was surprised when Moult and Trap came on. I thought we might sacrifice Paton for Babunski or Fiorini to try add an extra man and the middle and maybe force rangers centre midfield to drop deeper if we went 433. Instead we let them really start to pick the passes in the gaps between our midfield and forwards.

On the same side of the coin we hit the post 3 times (mightve been 4) and other than the the goals they scored, and the two excellent saves before half time, Walton wasn't actually troubled that much. If we take our chances perhaps it's a different game.

Agree with this 100%. Spot on.

Stirton gave the ball away for the Queens Park winner. He got an absolute bollcking from Sean Dillon.

We should be pushing hard for Morrison. Was brilliant against us in the diddy cup last season and the first game of league cup group stage. He’d give us the pace we badly need, and would also hopefully push Middleton and particularly Trapanovski to hopefully play better to earn their places.

What would he realistically cost us? 100k? We could even chuck in Fotheringham or Thomson on loan for the season which would benefit all parties tbh. That’s the minimum sort of ambition we should be showing to try and secure 3rd, especially with record numbers of season tickets sold and attendances in general, surely that ain’t pushing the boat out too much when there’s potentially a pot of about £5m at stake if we finish 3rd.

We won't pay money for anyone

Morrison came through the youth system at Hearts (he played in the same team as Liam Smith). I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back there this window.

Adegboyega is absolutely top drawer. If he was a couple if inches taller EPL clubs would be all over him, it might be a barrier for him making it as a centre half though that he's not though. In the modern age most of these teams have centre halves that are huge.

Eh ?
Manny 6'3"
Dalby 6'3"
Haaland 6'4'

There is no way Manny is 6'3. 6'1 at a push.

Suspect it's Manny and Vicko's turns for a rest. Would not be surprised if Ferry's sits this one out as well.

Goodwin said he only missed the Derby due to illness.

Something not right there.

Or is it yet another case of a player only supposed to have a minor injury and we then don't see them for weeks.

I wonder if he's thrown the toys out of the pram after being hooked at ht against Aberdeen and being left out in the derby. He was also dropped for the St Johnstone game on Boxing Day. Goodwin has shown before he won't put up with shite like that.

Suspect the team that finished the derby might start. Questions are, does he stick with Graham or bring Gallagher back? Reckon Odada will be back in midfield but is it in place of Docherty (might think 2 games in quick succession is too much) or for Sevelj (who has been great but has started every game for weeks)???

Can see VDS (who was good in the derby imho) starting up with Dalby. Middleton and Trapa were poor the other night. 3-5-2

Worth remembering we need to plan for the Celtic game which will be at the tail end of a mental sequence of really intense games. Reckon everyone needs to get some sort of rest in this sequence. If you go into an away game against them knackered then you could be in for a doing.
