Adegboyega

Out of contract with Norwich in May.

If they aren't offering him a new contract we must do everything we can to keep him.

Re: Adegboyega

Totally.
Noticed him second half last getting forward a few times and played a few well placed (if a wee bitty overhit) back post ba's.
Makes the odd cock up but makes up for it tenfold.
Infectious joy playing the game he loves coarsing through our team at the moment.

Another year on loan if we're lucky.

Re: Adegboyega

He’s not out of contract this summer unfortunately.

Just got to enjoy him while he’s here, cause what a fantastic player he’s gonna be. He’s the player in our squad with the highest ceiling imo. I think Norwich will have a hard time keeping him themselves, I can see Premier League teams swooping in for him, he’s that good. Has absolutely everything teams look for in a modern centre half, his pace is absolutely frightening. The odd fuck up, like the Motherwell game is just purely down to being raw and inexperienced, but my god, what a player he is.

The media used to talk up John Souttar something rotten when he was young about how good he was gonna be, Manny is absolutely MILES ahead of where John Souttar was at the same age. And a lot more likeable laddie too.

Great player, will be one we’ll be saying “remember him” when he’s strolling it in the Premier League in years to come.

Re: Adegboyega

Not sure he has what it takes for the very top level, but he's been absolutely brilliant for us and will go on to better things.  Great attitude and a clear willingness to get about the pitch when he can.  One of the best young players we have had at Tannadice for years.

If there is a player who I think will make it to the top it is probably Stephenson.  Only 21 himself and reads the game very well.  Also gets around the park and knows where the goal is.  Will eventually find his place at RB in a Premier League team.  Maybe not Liverpool but he's definitely got that level in him.

Re: Adegboyega

Re Manny, it's a joy to watch a player loving every minute as he develops in your team. He's clearly loving every minute. And the fans are loving him. And the better he does the more the fans love him which in turn is a cycle that's improving him. Norwich must be delighted.

Where his ceiling is, hard to tell at the moment. Even the top CB's make mistakes. But he's going to make less mistakes as he learns and gets experience. .
I think he's getting the benefit of playing in his preferred position.

With Luca I'd love to know what he thinks his best position is. Is it full back, wing back or midfielder.  Both great players and we're lucky to have them at the club just now.

Re: Adegboyega

Stephenson can only play the way he is facing. He'll not make it as a top level midfielder unless he addresses that.

Adegboyega is absolutely top drawer. If he was a couple if inches taller EPL clubs would be all over him, it might be a barrier for him making it as a centre half though that he's not though. In the modern age most of these teams have centre halves that are huge.

There is no way Manny is 6'3. 6'1 at a push.

Wiki has him at 1.91m  = 6'3 so it could be correct

Aye, i misread his Transfermrkt info.

He's out of contract with United on May 31st. I thought it was Norwich.

Just enjoy him whilst he's here, as you said. Think the lad will have a good career.

Good observation about Stephenson, though i'm guessing it's because he's pretty much played RB for Liverpool's academy. Though i think he could develop into a decent midfielder in time (still only 21).

I actually really like Luca and i think he'll have a fine career, but it's noticeable there's been a drop-off in his form where as Manny just keeps getting better week by week. The top players have consistency, regardless of age.

Manny also has two qualities that are vital in modern football. Pace and strength.

Re: Adegboyega

The Stephenson and play the way your facing comment is a fair one.  Although I think he has shown improvements their already.  First couple of games Strain was back he played more wide right in midfield (maybe because he has been used to the RB width) and he did look totally bewildered by the ball being behind him at times.  But his link up with Strain is much improved and he's playing another 20 feet to the left more.  Granted he doesn't have the 360 vision of Sevelj or Docherty, but that can come with practice.  Anyway, as I said before he'll end up as a RB and play at least at our level for his career and likely well above that.

Both Manny and Luca have very good futures if they keep their heads down and graft.

Re: Adegboyega

Top performance again today at St Mirren. Seems to be gaining confidence with every game.
His timing is improving too and he seems to know when to carry the ball out and when not to.

Was excellent again today, the boy is coming o  every week.

His confidence playing beside Gallagher is obvious, enjoy this lad for the last 4 months whilst he is here.
