He played really well in the League Cup game against Partick Thistle last season. Him and Gunning looked realy good together as the did against Hibs early door last season. He's a victim of cicumstance really, but the way he been totally erased from view by the club seems a little bit off.

Dundee United » Atmosphere at Tannadice v Ross Coonty and in general. » 24/8/2014 9:21 am

Would need to see the highlights again but my thought after they missed the 3rd sitter at the back post was "why the fuck is Townsend not tucking in and challenging???" He was good defensively in the first two games but poor going forward, today seemed to be the opposite way round.

Re the atmosphere, I agree that splitting the support up into 3 stands instead of almost filling the two is not working. I suspect this will not change any time soon since this, along with  removing the cash gates from the GF is more about incomptent stewards who are unable to handle and organise full stands than anything else. There was tons of empty seats in the GF yesterday. Too many folk in our support sitting back and waiting for things to happen instead of getting behind the team. Even standing up and shouting some encouragement seems to result in people around you looking at you as if you are some sort of half-wit.

Rado better today all round. Decision making better though we were not really under any sustained pressure.

They used to do this on Sheep Mad. I always thought it would be good to see on a Utd forum. Anyone can put up suggestions which is good.

So, Kate Garraway, WYOWYN?

Dow and Armstrong are both doubts seemingly.  Reckon Bilate and Erskine to come in if thats the case. 4-4-1-1?

Mixu for me. He was a top striker from 88/89 for the 4 years he was here. Welshy had one good season but was a bit of a dumpling the rest of the time.

It was Brian McLaughlin not Joe. He was a wee left winger.

Our squad is absolutely huge now. I have it on good authority that Stevie Campbell and Dave Bowman have been approached by loads of teams to get some of our u20 players on loan but Jackie won't put anyone out on loan so now we are stuck with enough players to fill two teams and are not far off this in the first team as well. Seems a strange position from Jackie is loads of players are left kicking their heels doing nothing. He is seemingly a bit precious about players, worried about them getting injured and it affecting their value. Bizzare.

At set pieces/crosses our players looked like fucking hand grenades were being lobbed at them.

Dundee United » today » 16/8/2014 7:59 pm

Years ago a rumour was printed in the Final Hurdle that at a PFA awards do pissed up Walter Smith accused Wee Jim and Utd of lying down to Celtic whilst playing out of their skins against der Hun. Wee Jim told him that he was at Utd long enough to know nothing untoward ever went on at the club. Walter apparently had to be ushered away (before Wee Jim lamped him?). I don't believe its deliberate, but we are absolutely shite 9/10 at Parkhead and must have fewer wins there than about 10-15 other teams, whilst having conceded some amount of goals. Its fucking dreadful.

22 years of lying down at Celtic Park. Does no-one at the club feel even a hint of shame????

It wouldn't surprise me if United just accepted another deal with Lindleys again at the end of this season. Its not as if the club don't know the fans hate the stuff on offer from Lindleys as well as the unemployables who serve it, its been raised at countless Arabtrust Q & A's over the last 10 years and I'm sure the Fed will have raised it too, but all you get back is, "If you don't like it don't buy it."  Utd appear to be quite happy to simply take the money up front rather than ensuring punters get decent grub and service at a reasonable price.

Its ours to lose...
Its in our own hands...
Anyone care to add any more cliche's??? :-)

Defence was outstanding. Watson did well to last 90 minutes even though he got roasted by Pawlett a few times 2nd half. Rado was garbage, again. We were more workmanlike than last season but still carved them open a lot. Shifty should have put the game to bed early doors in the 2nd half. Overall, a cracking day out!

Hope we do the biz but with so many players injured / not 100% I just cant see it espcially with them up to speed already. I'll get right behind them but more in hope than expectation.

Loved them back in the day. Remember seeing the Live Forever video on the Chart Show on ITV. It was the first time I'd heard Oasis and was totally floored by it. Got the 3 disc reissue of Definately Maybe a few months ago. Fantastic. Need to have a look on Youtube for the "Live by the Sea" video. Its a shame they turned out to be a bit of a one trick pony. They were never the same after McCarroll, Bonehead and Guigsy left. They lost the rawness of their sound. Part of their charm was the fact that 3 of them couldn't play all that well.
