Regarding the points on the previous page - we have limped over. It has taken until the second last game of the season to be officially winners. The football style is horrible which sets the standard for next season. If we can't blow teams away with the squad we have in this tinpot league - imagine what we will be like on an even keel (maybe) next season? Keeping him is just delaying the inevitiable, he will be sacked in the first 6 months of next season if he stays - he has scottish capped players in this squad and they have looked like dug meat in some games this season. Just a few weeks ago he was schooled by McPake FFS. Now we are close to the end of the season and we look like winners it has clouded boys judgement a bit. On the whole this season has been a slog. With some embarrassing losses. We will not be playing Arbroath/Queens Park next season and sadly he will be found out. Get rid now and lets start a fresh.Going to attempt to answer both of these in one go.

I don't think there are many revisionists out there, at least not on this forum, although I don't use any form of social media for a few years now. There's not a comment in here from anyone who is "in support" of Goodwin that has said that the current squad will manage in the premiership, or that the football played was particularly enthralling. The club, to it's credit, signed the bulk of the current squad on fairly short term deals this season, meaning we have should have a bit of a budget to improve and hopefully consolidate our position in the prem.
The Scottish cup game vs Queens really was one of those games, we absolutey battered them for 120 minutes and got beat. However, the league cup at the start of the term was an absolute embarassment to be knocked out of, no doubt.
You'll not convince me that moving on from Goodwin would be a smart move. Aberdeen's crazy affair with Warnock sealed that for me. They went for a ve

I believe its his hamstring that went in training
So much for managing him in training then.
we went 4-0 up against Morton in the 58th min , Doch never went off till the 82nd min, game was done after 58 mins

Bear in mind that Dundee appear to have quite a lot of loan players this season? So they’ll be on another rebuild job in the summer assuming all those loan players are back at their clubs/elsewhere.
I don't think there is much debate they have a better manager than we do

I think a lot of people have been influenced by watching Utd under perform in big games and see the manager being incapable / unable of changing things ( last 3 games were forced changes to centre half’s and only Grimshaw was the exception for the Morton game )
I Agree I dont think he is upto the job long term. But what I'm saying is bringing in a completely new squad, especially with this manager, might not work as well as it did for Dundee.
Maybe we should not spend a penny on our ground and blow it all on players

It not there, they don't have it.
At 4-1, again he done the right thing. It wasn't a mad panic, we comfortably seen the game out and left that shithole with three points.
Looking forward though, let's just enjoy the next few weeks, we have certainly earned it.When you are 4-1 up, away from home, and the league is as tight as it is, you want the last 20 minutes to be as uneventful as possible. The fact is that the league hasn't been won yet, and too many times I've seen United throw it all away when in better positions than this (I'm talking more about cups than league races, but still ....). I've got no problem with making the safest, most boring decisions that are going to kill the game as a spectacle, to ensure we get the result. I don't think bringing on the likes of Mochrie, Meekison or McLeod is a "risk" as such, but it could leave us slightly more exposed than bringing on a midfield clogger like Tilson. 4-2 up with 15 minutes to go and suddenly the game isn't done and dusted. It also has nothing to do with a lack of trust in the younger players - it's about horses for courses. You wouldn't be 2-1 up against Celtic at Parkhead with 15 to go and replace Billy Kirkwood with Graeme Payne.
I expect to see more of these younger lads (and less of Tilson) when or if we get to being 6 ahead with 2 games left.
Agree.
…
I'd go further
I wondered at playing Grimshaw as a preference to an in form Miller Thompson ? To me the answer being obvious, that you'd put on a big solid ham of a player on a shitey night at shithole place like Cappielow. He's well suited to and familiar with the place. I'm no fan of rotation for it's own sake, but bottom line was a win after that getting on bus home with no injuries. Hence Grimshaw.
Goodwin's app

im not sure like, he has also missed quite a few, there is games his general play has been terrible and he is as slow as week in the Jail.
I'd keep him as a squad/backup but not sure he'd sign as that.

The last three games have shown than we should've had the dilemma of whether to go to a title party or spend valentines evening with the lady.
We're by far the best team in this league and it's almost like a switch has been flicked, there's no reason we couldn't have played this way all season.
Maybe a lack of belief from the manager after Aberdeen and the late season collapse? Who knows but it's shown you can play a pressing style, with some good entertaining football instead of a sideways boring passfest.
Special mention for Middleton last night, he got loads of balls into the box, looked to take his man on every time and never let his head go down, took his goal well.
I think the manager wanted us to be a possession based team playing a variation of 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 but his limitation is he he couldn't get it to work an thats on him.
So he went to the long ball % stuff we are doing at the moment. Wont work in the Top league and he will be binned by october.
