I think Jim has a lot to still to do to oprove that he is the man for the job. Everyone who sat and watched Utd during the hiccup and witnessed the same slow pedestrian football and the like for like substituting whilst calling out for a change were quite right to question if he was the man for the job and only with the forced changes due to the injuries to the first choice centre half pairing did performances improve.
This. I really don’t think Goodwin is the man for the job(post split games proved this). But who would we get? Young up and coming manager which is a huge gamble or A.N. Other from the Scottish football merry go round ie: Jack Ross type. I really thought Ross would be the man for the job but it might just have been one of the most disastrous appointments we’ve ever made. So it’s gonna be Goodwin till a bad sticky spell.

Aye he’s looked very good this year with Airdrie. Funny how him and Cammy Ballantyne - two players who were deemed not good enough for United - have been integral parts of a team who have arguably played much better football than us at times this year.
First time we played Airdrie at Tannadice, they bored the shit out of me, passing the ba about at the back from side to side, but the other three times we’ve played them they’ve looked very good.Seems weird to say this after winning the league, but i think Airdrie have a better manager then us.
McCabe has been described by many as a manager who sets his teams up to play one way and one way only (attractive passing football) and this is seen to be a positive aspect of his management style.
Not long ago, sections of our support were (sometimes rightly) slating our previous mangers for not knowing how to play against different opposition. We now have Goodwin who has shown on occasions that he can adapt our play to suit different opposition,
I'm not here saying one management style is right and the other is wrong, I just find the 'grass is always greener' approach that some fan have quite funny.

Yes. But I also heard we've agreed a pre contract with Jack McMillan from Partick.

The funsters have taken a Dutch centre half on trial, I imagine there’s been crossed wires somewhere on that rumour.

If this is so then I would assume any official confirmation is being delayed until after Partick's involvement in the playoffs.

Not sure he’s much better than Grimshaw but if we do sign him I’ll hold off.

Was he not in the championship team of the year?

If raith don’t come up, we have to enquire about Dabrowski, he’s an outstanding goalkeeper, he is so similar to Benji it’s actually mental

Totally agree. I actually thought he was still on Hibs books, can't believe they released him last Summer.
Would definitely take him. Yeah we'd pay a fee but it would be worth it.

Hearing Motherwell Dunfermline Ayr and Airdrie interested in Mochrie, if he signs before the end of the month would we not get any Development at all ?

X 3. Every game against us he came up with big saves and was excellent. People keep saying he got released by Hibs. But so what…so many players get released for whatever reason and then go on and improve as they get older. Andy Robertson for example.

Think you can only get a Dev fee if you offered a deal anyway.
I'd be surprised if we offered a deal and Mochrie knocked it back, so looks like we never.

He’d do a job for them and a few other clubs.

Looks like KV Oostende are going into liquidation. Might be worth a look at for any potential good players.

Watched the playoff game through the week, watching tonight, remembered reading in here we were linked with a Thistle player, for a horrible moment I thought it was their left back, worse defender of the back post than Behich.
Phew!

We've all heard Dabrowski could be a potential hope for a keeper.
But of coorse, if Raith were to come up, that would be less likely, IMO of coorse.
On that note, whether it's Coonty or the Johnnie's, Raith will be playing, Eh hope.they dinna come up.

I hope the Sainties stay up just for the sake of Tayside we'll have 25% of the league.
So it could be depending whether it's County or Rovers -
Tayside & Fife 3 or 4
West but not Weegie 3
Weegie 2
Edinburgh 2
North 1 or 2
or -
East 7
West 5
