Massively surprised United have decided to put the Aberdeen fans behind Jim Goodwin again.

Good thing our fans are behind both goals, of course.

But, get the feeling they will just launch more projectiles at him.

wouldn't cost too much to put a net up behind the dugouts.

Great for us but I can't see him being a Liverpool regular.

I reckon St Mirren at Celtic for their title party and get it over with.

If Docherty is 'guff' then it doesn't say a lot for the rest of our midfielders, he's probably the best player at the club.
Yes fitness is an issue but I'll be very surprised if the club discards him, there is no doubt at all that we perform better when he plays, no doubt!

If Sibbald and Docherty are back then Sevelj wont be missed so much in the midfield.

He's had his hand in as many failures as success's.

The club don't seem very adept at hiring people who genuinely want to be at the club long-term, and truly want to build something.

Or maybe he is very good at his job and has been head hunted because of that.

The biggest issue was the two CBs looked miles from being match fit. They sat of the game leaving the midfield with a huge are to cover when it was effectively 3 against 5.
The two wingers did not do their defensive duties. Trapanovski man scored twice when he was unmarked and Middleton left Strain two on one on a number of occasions including the first goal.
A lot of criticism of Adeboyega here but none of Sibbald, his appalling pass caused the penalty and the red card.

I still maintain that it didn't warrant a straight red card, a yellow card was sufficient (even though he would still have been off as already booked).
Murray was going wide of the post so no way was that an obvious goal scoring opportunity, Walsh loves a red card issued the most in the league this season.

TBF Manny is the quickest centre back we have and he was fresh coming on, it was a gamble to try and get an equaliser, it didn't work, all the damage was done in the first half and I'm led to believe that Goodwin went full Alex Ferguson style at HT for the first time.

In the first derby Babunski played a great through ball to JVS who squared it for Trapanovski to score.

There’s a split in the support when it comes to Jim Goodwin. Those who aren’t 100% set on him and those who are set on him. Whenever he does something questionable you always get hit with the “Oh negative fan, you want United to lose so you can moan” etc and when he wins it’s the “haters are quiet tonight”.

Well Jim, you’ve had a fair amount of credit in the bank this season but that was honking tactics and you cost us 3 massive points. Not even your biggest fans can defend that.

Think it was only 2 points.

Everyone pointing out negativity and budgets, subbies etc but are missing out one major point.
Our players were totally running on fumes after 60 mins, 3 games in a week is killing us and causing injuries, we have a small squad and with key players injured JG can't rotate much if at all, the difference in quality from the first 11 to the guys on the bench is huge.
I'm just hoping we can clinch a top 6 place so that we can strengthen in the summer with better quality and numbers.

And we might have been looking forward to a wee change, a home game in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup, this Saturday, but that's not happening either.

Btw Motherwell have beaten us 3 times out of 3 this season. It's not their games against us that got Dracula the sack.

Kettlewell wasn't sacked, he resigned.

Same.

On Sibbald. He was quoted as being back in mid-January. Now at the end of January we are told another couple of weeks possibly. It's a bone of contention with me that our players seem to always return later than was predicted.

When players are injured I don't think the estimated time out can be taken for granted, estimating the length of time a player is going to be out isn't an exact science.

More time to comment on the game.  Thought St Mirren weren't too bad.  Definitely went for us first half and thought they were actually one of the better teams we have faced this season.  They were better than the last visit to the SMISA when we deserved the 1-0 win.  This time we were marginally the better team at the end and couldn't have complained if it ended all square.  We have some spirit though and another team loses out to our incredible will to win.

Walton - great pen save and a couple of other good stops too (especially the one on one), but a couple he could have done better with for me.  So good to have a competent keeper though.
Manny - good game, but think a couple of times he and Strain failed to pass on their men adequately and a better team would have used the space better.
Stain - see above, otherwise another good game.
Holt - another immense 90 minutes.  Some engine.
Ferry - seen him more effective going forward but defended really well.
Gallagher - good game.  Assured and competed well against a pretty big St Mirren set piece attack.  He and whole defence used the ball very well and St Mirren's pressing whilst high at points didn't really cause us much issues.  Was a get out of jail free card from Luca with the goal line clearance though.
Stephenson - see goal line clearance - otherwise battled well without creating too much.  Gives 100% and you can see why he starts most games.
Sevelj - quiet game by his recent standards but a lot of hard work which goes unnoticed as usual.
Docherty - probably his best game in the top league.  Like his fellow midfielders put in a power of work but was probably the best at using the ball of the three.  Always looking for the ball and rarely misplaced a pass.
Middleton - thought he was excellent.  Held the ball up well and tried to push forward where he could.  Back to his best!
Dalby - tough game for Sam today but worked like a Trojan and caused their CHs trouble throughout.

Oh and get Louis Moult off the treatment table and back into training. Never known a player to take so long to recover from niggles.

A dislocated shoulder is hardly a niggle.

Contrast that wi Manny who's right in there overjoyed and grinning a mile wide.

For me, very sorry but lacks skill lacks brutality.

Looks quite involved here.
