Can someone please explain why creating 1.32m shares at 10p each will end up clearing £5m debt?

Is he willing to write off some debt (cut his losses) in order to sell off part of his shareholding?

Will be down to the value of current shares on the balance sheet so they are the same value.  To purchase them there will no doubt be a premium that will be reflected in the share premium and equity numbers so you will have to pay £1 per share to purchase for example to raise £1.3m.  And no doubt any investors will want a seat on the board.

interestingly it will also dilute the share holding of those that hold the remaining 15% - doubt they are happy about that

I hardly think we will be waiting that long, our season starts before the Euros finish. No chance we aren't doing anymore business before the middle of July.

Edit to add, if a deal is signed then why would we wait weeks to announce it? We won't be signing many players that will be involved anyway, certainly not involved in the latter stages.

I'm just guessing.  I think that is how it's been previously.

Yeah, just can't see it tbh. Our season is absolutely priority and preseason starts soon, players need to be in and training. No way at all we can afford a month long hiatus

Hoping on some level there are some players we have signed but as there contract does not expire until end of June it can't be announced until then.

The brother of their number 3 was assassinated in Dallas in 1963 and was himself killed in a hotel in California in 1968?

(I'll get my coat and see myself out)

Fear a lot of players are blinded by the prospect but end up playing in the EPL age group and under 23 league or out on loan before being released - i think more young players will try to become established in the first team and then move overseas which has seemed to help a lot progress in recent years.

Tin Hat time - notice Jon McCracken has been released by Norwich, i know he played for the Dee last season but may be worth a conversation depending on options out there

Dundee United » Out of Contract players - Who would you keep? » 09/5/2024 9:53 am

Clearly some of them were expected as they did not kick a ball for us recently or this season at all.

with some of the others we will not know if they were offered a deal but declined to accept it or got a better offer somewhere else - maybe McMann falls into that category.

With the younger players i think the contribution of Kai and Miller Thomson have probably meant they were retained and others released.  lets face it if you are not forcing your way into the team in the lower championship then it is less likely in the league above.  I was surprised when i realised that Middleton is only around 6 months older than Glass, huge difference in contribution this season.

In some ways the brutal releasing of young players is required, part of our problem has been we have retained too many of our you players who never seem to become first team regulars and just become bench warmers which in turn slows down access for those younger than them to emerge.  In most clubs bringing through 2 young players a year is a good return and if you have exceptional talents possibly more.  Ultimately you need to have an opportunity for the academy products to emerge and that is where we have been poor in recent years and offered contracts to players who probably didnt warrant them.

My biggest hope now is that we have some incoming players lined up already and are not going in to the season with a lot of gaps to fill in the squad and signing loan deals on the last day of the transfer window.

Cudjoe has been told he won't be offered a new contract.

Apparently.

Not a total surprise if true.

You have to wonder what that means for Mochrie and Meekinson given they are older, although they have featured more often.

Quite a lot of Motherwell fans seem to be keen to see the back of him.

Motherwell fan I know said he's excellent on his day but prone to a few bombscare moments.

is he really an upgrade on what we currently have, i don't rate him as a central defender so he would only be a right back and possibly injury cover.

Dundee United » Prediction League - Match Day 40 » 30/4/2024 9:16 am

2 - 2

both teams have nothing to play for so likely be similar to a preseason game

Dundee United » Prediction League - Match Day 39 » 24/4/2024 10:10 am

2 - 0 to us

Think they wont want to take any risks with the play offs coming so will not be as up for it as they normally are.

Dundee United » Airdrie Vs Utd - Friday 26th April (7.45pm) » 24/4/2024 10:05 am

We should start Moult if he wants to play but as soon as he starts to tire make the change.

I think the you players that make the bench will give us some indication of who he will keep and who we wont see next season.

I want to see what Wotherspoon can do from the start of a game so would start him for Tilson

Dundee United » Summer transfer window 2024 » 23/4/2024 9:38 am

The priority has to be the spine of the team and for that we need to sign a solid and reliable keeper - no risks in this area, a solid signing here would be a great foundation to build on

Dundee United » Utd Vs Ayr - Saturday 20th April » 18/4/2024 1:47 pm

If he is borderline do we risk him for this game, as if we win then it needs a massive goal difference swing over the next two games where he could be rested?

Dundee United » Prediction League - Match Day 36 » 03/4/2024 11:05 pm

0 - 0

I hope i am wrong but we seem to fall flat after a good performance recently

Dundee United » The Shed vs Raith » 30/3/2024 8:46 pm

might have been a new tactic or down to our two central defenders but seemed like we spent less time playing it back to them and across the back which meant the ball was played forward quicker, ensuring the opposition did not get time to settle.

need to keep that up in the remaining games, that along with the players being up for the game today seemed key.

a lot of good performances in that great win
