Seems to be a problem with our best Young players, Hearing Neilson and Mochrie wont be signing new contracts and Chalmers and Mochrie been bombed not even in todays match day squad,
If you take into account freeman only playing cause Smith is injured, only youth player getting good development is a manu player ?
The problem is they are all 5-a-side popstars with no dig or ability to improvise in situations.

Been here weeks now. We rarely score.
If he wasn't signed to score goals, what was he signed for?
Get him in the team fitting into a formation that best helps him get on the end of chances.
Seemingly still miles off the pace fitness wise.

Thanks, appreciated. I'm fine, that's my 10 days isolation up. Back to work today though 😟

I thought he looked really impressive in his sub appearance against Elgin. Good luck to the lad.

Doubtful. Graham was dropped about 3 games ago and Grant said he needed to focus on defending more in games. Pars fans don't rate him.

You're right Finn, they should have won 4-0.
Sorry for winning, must have been a massive fluke.
All is well
Dundee United » Chalmers and Meekison » 20/9/2021 6:56 am |
Meekison was on the Friday night show before the St Mirren game last week and said it'd be 3-4 weeks before he'd be back from a ligament injury.
No idea about Chalmers. He's been pictured a few times at training and in clips recently and was at the JYM statue unveiling but there has not been a single bit of information about what his injury is or a timescale.
It is a massive bugbear of mine the way the club keep doing this. It's obviously deliberate.
Dundee United » Lack of info regards injured players » 08/9/2021 12:09 pm |
Just watched the DUTV training video and Chalmers is there at the start of the video doing some stuff although you don't appear to see him much later on in the more intense ball work. Maybe just doing light stuff but hopefully getting there soon. With Niskannen no closer to signing it would appear we could do with more width in the team.
Dundee United » Lack of info regards injured players » 08/9/2021 6:56 am |
Judging by photos and videos, Appere, Meekison and Declan Glass are all back training. That just leaves Logan Chalmers who got injured a month ago but never been any official timescale put on him or any update on his recovery progress.
Dundee United » Derby PATG Pricing » 03/9/2021 10:50 pm |
Thing is for some people a season ticket is just not an option. Pricing out the casual fan can have the knock-on effect of losing a generation of their kids.
Dundee United » Derby PATG Pricing » 03/9/2021 8:17 pm |
£30 for adults, £16 for concessions.
Holy fuck. Disgrace. That'll end up putting off boys. Slighly lower pricing would have led to a sell out. We'll end up losing money. Spoke to a few Dee's today who said there was no way they'd be paying that given that they have kids as well.
Of course this will mean we'll get stung for the same prices for the game at Dens.

Is Archie Meekison still injured? He went off against Arbroath. Nothing has been said about him since.
Also, how long is Logan Chalmers out for? No official update on him either.
Saw Louis Appere on the training clip. When is he likely to be fit enough for games?

Not been binned. He's starting a university course according to his Twitter.. He thanked United and said he loved the job.

Straight red means you miss next game but a two yellow red card means you miss the game after the next. I think.
Hopefully we appeal. And win.
I always thought you couldn't appeal a double yellow, when did that change?
You can if it is for simulation.

No idea if the two boys we have signed will be decent but the Welsh boy looks like he can see a pass.
Agree, big striker though would be ideal. Getting Chalmers and Niskannen on the park wide either side of Fuchs and the new boy in midfield, McNulty and a big striker (peak Jon Daly would be nice). Four - Four - Fucking - Two.

Dundee United » Jim McLean Tribute » 19/8/2021 3:18 pm |
I don't know how and when the unveiling will happen at the derby but I do think it would be good to have it filmed and broadcast (either live or a video) and shown on the big screen at Tannadice (either before kick off of at half time) so the fans can see it and finally give the great man the rousing reception he deserves. Obviously only a select few guests will be able to watch the unveiling in person given that it a small areas at the back of the ET Stand.
Dundee United » Jim McLean Tribute » 19/8/2021 10:39 am |
The statue is being unveiled at the Dundee game. IMHO that is the best time given Jim's history with both clubs.

A word of caution before lauding this lad as a saviour. The standard of players he is playing against in that video look absolutely abysmal.
Dundee United » Just how good are our young players? » 11/8/2021 1:01 pm |
I watched the game last night. Putting the horrendous stream quality to one side, I thought the laddies had a lot of the ball but did little with it. No penetration whatsoever. However, the sending off killed us. You could put together an amazing YouTube reel from boys like Neilson, Mochrie and Fotheringham who go past boys like they are not there, play wee one twos and balls around the corner as long as you edited out them running up blind alleys and pinging crossfield passes 40 yards from goal rather than trying to play a killer pass. To be fair, they were not helped by the fact the laddie playing up front didn't really offer anything at all which meant there was no focal point. The laddie Watson played wide right and worked hard but again didn't really have a trick. Think he'd be better playing through the middle.
Ultimately what done us was two bread and butter cross balls which Neilson and Cooney lost out on in ariel duels. This for me continues to be Neilson's big weakness. For his size he isn't commanding in the air and appears reluctant to put his head in where it hurts. Just because we want to play on the deck doesn't mean our opponents are going to do the same so our players need to be able to attack the ball in the air and show some bravery.
The third goal was a great strike from outside the box when we were chasing the game. Considering we were playing with two wide players they never really once went at the full back and put a cross in. Fotheringham just cuts inside all the time. This meant we were relying on Duffy and Freeman to put balls in and they both struggled on the night although both were decent defensively. Freeman ended up at sweeper in a back 3. I was impressed by the keeper, Jack Newman and would be comfortable with him as back up if Benji leaves.
Think we would have benefited from Meekison and Robson in midfield both of whom are better than the two lads who played. Meekison is a bit more direct which I think would have helped us since

Agreed. He's not that different really from what we have tbh. Lazy signing imho.
Dundee United » Summer Transfer Window » 04/8/2021 11:12 am |
If we sign 2 strikers one needs to be a proper big target man and the other needs to have pace.
We could also do with a central midfielder who can put their foot on the ball and dictate things to add to TEK's list.
I was thinking about things yesterday and came to the conclusion that the group that played on Sunday (the Championship winning team) have done well to get out of the Fundesliga and keep us up, but have taken us as far as they can. We need a major rebuild with incoming boys with pace and who want the ball, supplemented by the young players we have like Chalmers, Mochrie, Smith, Freeman etc.
