That's a few times you've posted just trying to get a rise out of the same 1 or 2 posters.

That's fair enough Tek.

But there has been a lot worse posted from other people on here recently that you haven't pulled them up for publicly.

I don't get all this Fed v the rest, it's the worst thing that's happened to this forum. I have nothing personal against any of the Fed guys, I just don't like the siege mentality and the attitude towards people who have a different opinion on things by SOME. Not all.

It's slowly alienating, and turning off good posters. The forum is not turning in Mad2 but it's going to end up just a Fed forum if things keep on going like they are.

I'm not looking for an argument, it's just my opinion, and I'm not interested in a back and forth slanging match either.

There surely has to be a middle ground where we all can enjoy/discuss/contribute to this forum without resorting to schoolboy tactics.

Don't try and start a siege mentality, them v us, Fed guys v everyone else on here.

Its narrow minded and just wrong.

I don't have anything against the Fed, and I don't really know who is all in the Fed on here, barring a 3 or 4, or anyone else who is involved in any other associations. Nor do I care.

I take each person on face value and what they contribute to the forum, no matter if I agree with them or not.

If you don't like this forum, then I would suggest you can take a leaf out of Tek's book and start your own.

No starting fuck all, just saying the fed guys on here are clearky wasting their time, dont think theres anything wrong in that, never said i dont like this forum either so dont know why the fuck you would say that?

Just noticing that most of your posts are either retaliatory or pretty negative, and you were telling the Fed guys that your wasting their time on here, so I assumed you don't like this forum.

If that was the case, then life's too short to be mad all the time.

Apologies if I'm wrong, if so let's start over again as im sure we both can't be bothered with the back and forth adolescent stuff

I can understand where you are coming from with that. That was well explained blackandtangerine.

It must be frustrating trying to get some answers with nothing coming back.

I can't speak for others, but not being in the loop of things with the Fed, the Trust or anything else officially related to the club, I can't comment on much. So excuse if my ignorance looks like I am burying me head in the sand. It's really not. I really can't say if I am pro or anti-Thompson, but I do want him to go if he finds a suitable and stable buyer, and the sooner the better, for both parties I think.

Tek's right.

Some of the posts since after the game yesterday has been out of order, I know people are hurting.

If you want to vent, fight or slag off each other there is plenty of other places and forums to do that. Tek set this forum up to be an 'alternative' to other forums, to have it a more laid back place where you can still have discussions and disagreements, but in a more civilised manner. Not to see it getting turned into a Mini Mad.

We are all grown ups here, we should be able to talk to each other without acting like a bunch of school bairns.

I've said it before, Tek has set up this forum, and he can only do so much to contribute and regulate. Forums like this will only be as good or as bad as the posters on it.

It shouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows, life isn't like that, but we should at least be civil to each other.

Thank you guys, I really appreciate the kind remarks, it means a lot.

It's a bit mortifying to see and hear yourself on video, and also to discuss things that I don't usually talk about, especially out with the job. If it helps someone out there to be a bit more careful then it has been worth it.

As for Sherlock Foo Kin Holmes, he will never get hold of anything to do with my previous brush with the media many many moons ago. Pictures, or it didn't happen Fooky!

Copied and pasted from the BBC match report.

Goalkeeping heroics
Walter Scott of Grimsby Town was the first goalkeeper to save three penalties in a single game; he performed this heroic feat in 1909 against Burnley.
Other goalkeepers to achieve this feat include Manchester United's Gary Bailey, who saved three penalties against Ipswich Town at Portman Road in 1980 but still conceded six goals from open play, and Huddersfield Town's Matt Glennon, who saved three spot-kicks in a league game against Crewe Alexandra in 2007.
The most penalties saved in a single season by a goalkeeper is eight (out of 10) by Paul Cooper of Ipswich Town in 1979-80.
In international football, Poland's Jan Tomaszewski (1974) and the United States' Brad Friedel (2002) share the record for most penalty saves in open play, both saving twice from the spot.

Talk about fine lines in football and the slim margins between winning and losing.

We made it tough for ourselves, the tactics and formation, especially after we scored the second, just invited pressure.

It really showed when we went down to 10 men and when we broke up the park there was almost nobody in the box. Anyway in the end it worked out, and thats why Ray is the United gaffer and I do what I do

So to summarise from my own opinion, I thought the two new defenders, The Edge and VDS were solid despite each giving away pens, but can see we might struggle against fast forward lines as they aren't the quickest, but still like them.

Willo was excellent again, and I thought Teller had a good game as well, I am hoping this will boost his confidence. Good to see Dixon back from injury but I prefer Robson on current form.

VDV was quieter than usual out wide but he still had some sublime touches. Andreu was much like VDV apart from two great finishes.

Overall a very exciting and nervy game to watch, I thought the supporters were magnificent, great hearing them sing for Cammy Bell, and what more can you say about our MOTM, amazing display of shotstopping, still could work on his kick outs and commanding of the box but so could a lot of goalies we had. Im delighted for him, must do his confidence wonders.

Were the pen decisions that bad?

Missed the first one as I was watching the ball.

Second was a clip of the heels by VDS on the pars player after he stumbled near the goal line, soft pen but was a foul IMO even though the Dunfermline player was running away from goal and Cammy was fouled in the build up.

Third was another soft pen for handball after a shot hit the raised hands of (i think?) Willo who was trying to block it, the hands were only raised to shoulder height and he couldn't do nothing about it so very harsh, but the ref interpreted it as hand to ball.

To be honest if it was United having the penalty claims we would be screaming for them too, just all a bit soft IMO.

The ref just lost control of the game and was inconsistent, he had a right shocker, even without the penalty awards.

Found it very nail-biting after the Pars got their goal, and I was only listening on the radio. What was the story with Dixon?

Dixon was booked for backchat at a penalty, then sent off for the first foul he'd been penalised for. I think.

That system didn't apply to Pars players, especially that wee guy who's on loan from Celtic.

Yes, what Pat said. After the ref awarded the Pars 3rd pen he booked Dixon, Bell and 2 others I think (Flood and Toshney?) for the brouhaha. It was OTT and unnecessary handing out the bookings at that time, maybe a wee bit of common sense after awarding a 3rd pen in 30mins that players are gonna get exasperated. Seen a lot worse after ref decisions not going players way and remonstrating while getting away with it.

The second booking was a foul, IMO, but also some of the Pars players done a lot worse and escaped bookings, and even the ref pulling them up for the foul. Inconsistent.

Well thought out and hits the nail on the head. People need to chill the fuck out. Meltdowns after we lose a game are no use. I must say though that Jim Spence could do with thinking before he posts on Twitter as well.

Pretty much agree with that ocean it's not good for your health to have a pathological hatred of one man.

Very interesting and brave blog by SG Milne. It's not going to be met with universal adulation as with anything concerning the Chairman but personally I think its spot on.

It's just getting so predictable, boring and downbeat all the time, everything seems to come around full circle on the man. Even off topic stuff like Celtic in the Champions League he gets brought up on stuff.

TEK made this forum for himself and United fans, but this forum is what we make it, he can only do so much competitions and off topic stuff to keep things light hearted. It's just seems like constant ST bashing, meltdowns and doom and gloom all the fucking time. This is not from everyone, but the same posters saying the same stuff over and over again.

Do you think ST and Jim Spence even see's any of this stuff on here, and if they did do you even think they would care and even let on.

I'm not an ST fan, and I have no personal issue with Jim Spence but I don't follow him on twitter either so I don't know whats been going on. But come on, this is going to be a long season, like Beharder said, it can't be good for your health.

Opinions are always welcome but I think we can safely agree that ST and Jim Spence aren't popular on here. I'm not saying stop talking about them but maybe we can start by keeping it to a dedicated thread and go to town and let out all your vitriol there.

Going through some of the comments is like we got beat 3-0.

If your looking for perfection then tell me what team plays like that for the whole game consistently and I'll go follow them instead.

We're in for a long season and if we win 3-0 every week and play shite in parts then I'm fine with that.

Maybe we can benefit by winning like this and have things to work on in training for things that didn't go right in the previous game.

It can't be healthy being so negative about things all the time. Feels like your damned if you do and your damned if you don't.
