Why did we no sign him.
WTF is Goodwin playing at
Ogrens got to put more into the budget
Why have we signed him he's shite
It keeps me entertained through the summer
Just sit back and see what happens
An element of anxiety and anticipation is reasonable given the sheer number of players we need to bring in.
It's a bit different when you have a settled squad and you're just looking at 2 or 3 in and 2 or 3 out.
We don't have that. For the second year in a row we're looking at a major transfusion of players and although we got it pretty much right last summer it would be easy to suddenly find we've got it wrong.

Not really interested in playing some average English team at home that will sell 4000 tickets. Get an English day out for fans like Carlisle and Fleetwood previously. Would love a day trip to somewhere like Preston, Bolton or Hartlepool.
Fans would travel as well, we took quite a big support as far south as Plymouth (legendary friendly) and a big turnout at Coventry and more recently at Wigan although I seem to recall there was nothing interesting that happened on the pitch there.

He won't.
Though it wouldn't surprise me if Richards is in goal come the Euro match. With Ruairidh Adams on the bench.
Changed days. I seem to remember a game where Hamish was sent off and Heggie went in the goal.

Did notice that, maybe a clue like you say.
To be honest I've no idea how good the guy is because I've only seen him play once.
Maybe Goodwin is looking at the budget and thinking if he can save a bit there he can add better quality elsewhere. But he's hardly played since his Crewe days and that was 70 odd appearances in 9 years.

Hopefully we'll have a capable goalie
on the bench for every match Shakey 😎
What we need though is an undisputed number one, a leader at the back, a talker, a shot stopper, capable of coming for cross balls without our support shitting themselves.
Hopefully the boys are on the case.

Agree. I don't want a player who went from Dundee to Celtic just for the money.
No ambition. We'd just be a paycheck for him.
There's plenty good keepers out there hungry to make their mark, pretty sure we'll find one.
Absolutely! No ex funsters and no fucking Aussies please!
Definitely no ⛔ fucking ⛔ Aussies!

Ex-funster Scott Bain’s been released by Celtic. Wouldn’t be totally against us signing him, he’s a prick, but he’s a very good keeper.
Was he not rumoured to be a bad influence in the dressing room last time he was in the city?

I’m sure we are all agreed, all of our top targets need to be in before the first European game.
Can’t be waiting around on too many
In an ideal world yes, but finishing high up the league again is number 1 priority so if we have to wait a little longer to get a cracking target into the club so be it.
So many loan players leaves us looking very light on quality this summer. But would I have taken the prize money on offer in exchange for a couple of pumpings in the Europa League league stage, yes definitely. The difference there is you get a little more time to blend new players in.
If I have a worry right now it's the financial gulf opening up between Hearts/Hibs/Aberdeen to us.

I wouldn’t mind it if we needed to sign 2 keepers, he’s probably got enough about him to challenge for the jersey. But we have Richards, who by all accounts is a great guy with a fantastic attitude and exactly the type of bloke you want as your sub keeper and Adams as number 2 and 3, we need an undisputed number 1.
Was it Andy Fisher or Ross Sinclair you were on about?
Saw just two St J games this season apart from ours and they had an outstanding keeper but no idea who it was.

Indeed I'm all over the place. I'll remember to write in binary the next time for your comprehension. So a player is either pish or not pish and he either ruins our weekends or he doesn't. Am I getting it? All our players are pish. Think I'm mastering this.
I'm beginning to like this gaslighting lark - might try it out elsewhere too.
Anyway mate, roll on the end of the season. I feel so much of a loser supporting Dundee United, I'm thinking I might not bother next year...actually given we can't afford any players that are 'good enough' maybe we won't have a team anyway.
Conway, hope you enjoyed Saturday. We're not pretty at times but the dig is there for all to see. Appreciate that we don't agree on everything, but at the end of the season we're still all Arabs. All the best for summer and to Euro trips (probably just the two!).
Very much enjoyed it, Finn! absolutely - your points are all spot on. It wouldn't be fun without a few debates!
All the best to you mate - mon the terrors!
We love a happy ending 🧡

It could be true. Or could be Ross sending a good message out to potential employers but that's maybe me being cynical.
I'm with the club on this. They have to go on history not on hope. A club our size cant afford to have the most important midfielder available for less than half the matches.
But the way these things pan out he'll definitely come back to haunt us after he's signed up at Motherwell or Kilmarnock.

Have you withdrawn the survey?Yeah, had to move forward with working through the data.
Is it too late to add in perverse victim blaming in the Scottish game? For example a thug throws a ripped out seat 50 feet from an upper tier down into a crowd of fans, could have maimed a kid for life, yet many of the online Aberdeen fans blame the United fans for being there.
Are we about done as a civilisation?

One thing having seen the clip a few times is that I don't think there is any chance the seat was aimed at the player, I think it would be pretty much impossible to deliberately hit anything from that range with a plastic seat. I think it was just launched in the direction of the United fans, and unfortunately caught the player at a particularly bad angle.
None of this is a defence of the fan who did it in any way, shape of form, it was reckless in the extreme to throw a heavy plastic object into a crowd.Whit !!??
Trying no tae get goaded here but:
Are you acting for the defence or prosecution here ?
"Impossible to deliberately hit anything" Mate it would be impossible NOT to hit someBODY not someTHING. - An inch higher MacKenzie could be blind in one eye.
"Unfortunately caught the player at a bad angle" - again Whit ! cannae believe this garbage - UNFORTUNATELY ..... CAUGHT ???
"Launched in the direction of the (goading) United fans" - Right - so it would be less of an idiocy if it a silly wee 13 year eejit United Fan had been hit ?
No two ways - catch the guy - you think he'd have previous, throw aways keys for another six months and give Dons 2 points deduction at the start of next season.
I think his point is that there was no specific target, but absolutely no chance of not hitting someone though as you say.
Definitely deserves jail time,no question. There were kids on the pitch and one could have been killed, maimed, blinded you name it. I’d ban sheep fans from Tannadice altogether tbh
Seemingly the Aberdeen fans are still protecting the culprit.
If anyone's in any doubt about their scum fanbase have a look at AFC-Chat forum, some of them even celebrating that the seat hit that player.

Scott Tiffoney from Dundee. Doing the rounds on twitter tonight.
Dundee fans have mixed views on him based purely on consistency.
On his game a very good player but off it tends to disappear.
Two players we should have signed, McCowan at Ayr when we got Shankland. It was McCowan who made Shankland tick down there. Tiffoney when he was a free agent at Firhill. Now? Not seen him so can't judge.
Ps page 1 of this makes interesting reading looking back to see where we were.

A word of special praise needs to go to our manager at the end of a long hard season.
He's always been a calm reassuring presence, never got too high on the highs or too low at the lows.
He handles the press really well, never falls into any traps they lay.
He stays behind our players even in adversity.
Has he made mistakes, of course he has and he'd admit it, I think he's still learning on the job and he recognises that too.
We know what he's done, it's been laid out in several threads on this forum. In short, to rebuild the side twice and succeed first time of asking with each rebuild is top class management.
Finishing above Aberdeen in 4th is a great achievement, what could have been if Dalby's goal had stood v Hibs.
I've been critical many times about the quality of football but I keep telling myself be careful what you wish for because we could do so much worse if we had to replace him.
Well done Jim. Thanks for your hard work and commitment to the cause.

Early days, very early days, but seeing him at Ibrox and yesterday it struck me that there's just a touch of the David Narey about this boy.
Before I get slaughtered I'm not comparing him to Narey but the way he carries himself, the quiet confidence and the apparent effortless way he works is a bit reminiscent.
This season has told us that experience at CB is vital so we will need to add in that position especially with Gallagher away. But with Ross Graham and Sam Harding we seem to have brought two gems through for the future.

Watching the footage that the BBC have just put up it seems like when the seat was thrown there was hardly any United fans goading the fans above
them.
