All the announced departures now leave us with a squad of:
Ryan Strain
Vicko Sevelj
Ross Graham
Kristijan Trapanovski
Will Ferry
Richard Odada
Jack Newman (not announced in the releases surprisingly)
Craig Sibbald
Glenn Middleton
Kai Fotheringham
Jort van der Sande
Dave Richards
Rory MacLeod (Nothing Announced on him either, doubt Southampton take up their option)
Miller Thomson
Lewis O’Donnell
Samuel Cleall-Harding
Scott Constable
Owen Stilton
Meshack Ubochioma
Lots and lots of work to do, I’d start by trying to bin van der Sande, Odada, Meshack and Fotheringham. None of them have shown anywhere near enough to prove they’re capable of playing at the level we need.
VDS should be able to find a club back in Dutch football despite his barren goal record here. Fotheringham you’d imagine would be of interest to most Championship sides based on his goal record in the division we were down there. Meshack and Odada I reckon will be the harder ones to move on. Meshack’s attitude sounds terrible based on what I’ve Davie Martindale say about him, and where is he realistically gonna get a deal as good as he likely has here? Odada sounds like his attitude is fine but just looks like he’s never seen a football pitch in his life and is struggling to even get games in Serbia. Might just be a case of having to cut our losses on the pair of them and paying up their contracts.

Stirton
rest can be free to find another club

He's mentioned as leaving just under Babunski mate

He's in there.
Former Barcelona starlet and North Macedonian international David Babunski leaves with our best wishes, a crucial member of the squad during the opening months of the campaign, as does fellow midfielder Allan Campbell - who arrived on a short-term deal from Luton Town in January.

Cheers Hen I was worried that he might be staying!

Amazed Jack Newman isn't on the released list.
Surely he has no future at the club. Been on loan for two years and barely played.

P.s. it very much sounds like Jack Walton definitely won't be back.
I noticed United mentioned him challenging for Luton no.1 jersey.

Yeah it's not that easy to just release players who have a contract though. Also id be keeping Sibbald and Middleton, plus Richards has done nothing wrong either.

Yeah I mentioned nothing about releasing them. Telling them they are free to find another club is totally different.
Knowing they are of no use lets their agent alert other clubs making it easier to get rid.

I noticed United mentioned him challenging for Luton no.1 jersey.
His post on Instagram to the fans said “enjoy the European tour” so I’m taking that as confirmation that he’s away.
As soon as Luton got relegated I feared they’d want him back for League One. He’s seemingly on about 10k a week down there, so he’d be daft to give up half a million pound to come back up here permanently.
A good keeper and obviously well liked in the dressing room and did a lot behind the scenes with the academy goalkeepers, but he’s not irreplaceable. As we all know though, it’s 100% the most important position we need to get right this summer.
Heard whispers that we might be after the guy Fisher who was on loan at St. Johnstone and was highly rated there. St. Johnstone fans all reckon they wouldn’t have gotten relegated if they’d had him in from the start of the season.

No word on kai - do we presume hes got an offer on the table? Not sure hes been involved enough this season to warrant it and mo longer in the young players category for me.
Decent player and decent lad by all accounts - not sure how mich more he will develop.

Worked a treat with Birighitti if I remember correctly? The point I'm making is that they don't have to go anywhere and if no one wants to pay them what we are then they'll still be here.

Shipped out to Killie on loan? probably a % of wage saved? I know this, but letting clubs know they are available gives us an advantage on getting rid and gives the player and agent scope to explore new options.

Kai signed a new deal in about October/November time, the club for whatever reason just never announced it.

Just reading Docherty on BBC talking about getting advice from podiatrist on boot sizes curing injury problems and coming up with fix. If true I've gone from doubtful about letting him go to mystified.

It could be true. Or could be Ross sending a good message out to potential employers but that's maybe me being cynical.
I'm with the club on this. They have to go on history not on hope. A club our size cant afford to have the most important midfielder available for less than half the matches.
But the way these things pan out he'll definitely come back to haunt us after he's signed up at Motherwell or Kilmarnock.

Indeed I'm all over the place. I'll remember to write in binary the next time for your comprehension. So a player is either pish or not pish and he either ruins our weekends or he doesn't. Am I getting it? All our players are pish. Think I'm mastering this.
I'm beginning to like this gaslighting lark - might try it out elsewhere too.
Anyway mate, roll on the end of the season. I feel so much of a loser supporting Dundee United, I'm thinking I might not bother next year...actually given we can't afford any players that are 'good enough' maybe we won't have a team anyway.
Conway, hope you enjoyed Saturday. We're not pretty at times but the dig is there for all to see. Appreciate that we don't agree on everything, but at the end of the season we're still all Arabs. All the best for summer and to Euro trips (probably just the two!).
Very much enjoyed it, Finn! absolutely - your points are all spot on. It wouldn't be fun without a few debates!
All the best to you mate - mon the terrors!
We love a happy ending 🧡

Bang on all counts ...... excluding the bit about being cynical.
I'm sure JG didnae just bombshell Doch wi this after Saturday, so fair play to him playing with that level of committment under the circumstances.
I'm also thinking Jim's looking ahead to next years budget and looking to get in talent of the level to keep up and better Hearts/Hibs.
Well and good but Doch would have remained an excellent squad player over the course of whats going to be a long season.
