It's not him.

No chance.

I don't think Kieran Freeman or Ali Coote have really made meaningful progress either (although I've not monitored how they've been getting on so happy to be corrected if wrong).

Not so long ago, we had unprecedented transfer income over several years. Look at where we are now.

But we got £X million for Andy Robertson. YAY!

This isn't aimed at anyone on here, but elsewhere I've seen chatter from some Arabs almost getting excited at the prospect of a decent transfer fee for a young, talented player. Have they learned nothing from recent years?

It's as if they think that all of any transfer fee will automatically be re-invested directly in the squad and that we'll strengthen significantly.

The Ogren's have thus far made a loss on United, I'd have thought they'd take any Banks fee and recoup some of their costs. None of us know, but in any case, there's just something not right about some Arabs being pleased to see a talented youngster leave United, almost 'celebrating' it.

What you say about chromecast rings a bell. I remember there was an issue previously with watching it on smartphones. Some software they used wasnt compatible or something.

Happy to be corrected if wrong, but I think Chromecast has a quality setting which defaults to High. If you just set it to normal, that stops the lag.

Glorified plain t-shirt, at least the badge was different.

I liked the 2009/10 home strip in of itself, but I think that there was an opportunity lost with the 3rd kit.

As a rule of thumb, things have only been celebrated in recent decades at United if money can be made from it. If you can't hold a dinner for it, it doesn't happen. So it was disappointing to see Carbrini on the 3rd strip together with 100 odd other sponsor names. It was never going to be used in competitive games, so I don't see why we had to have any sponsors on it at all, plus, it wasn't by Nike (it was by '=14pxPro Club'), it was really cheaply made (one or two times in the washing machine and the sponsors started to peal off). The thinking behind the design itself was good, but it was spoiled by being cheaply made and all of the sponsors.

I get why it was black, another tangerine or white strip that season wouldn't have made commercial sense. But there you go, the 3rd centenary strip was seen by the club as a commercial opportunity, not something special to mark 100 years.

I was just about to post the same thing. It seems extraordinarily blinded to say that our centenary celebrations were "PATHETIC" when we won the cup, with 28,000 arabs celebrating at hampden, and then all of the  celebrations that followed.

The Scottish Cup celebrations were separate from the centenary celebrations, they just so happened to fall in the same season.

If my memory serves me correctly, the centenary celebrations were:

- Special club badge (which I quite liked, to be fair)
- A friendly against Newcastle
- A book
- A small exhibition for a few weeks at the Wellgate library
- A dinner at the Caird Hall
- A 3rd kit
- A DVD

I think that was pretty much it.

Have heard it's all black and home all tangerine

That will be a massive anticlimax IMO, we've had years of boring catalogue templates and now we finally have a supplier who is happy to create a kit from scratch and we get something along the lines of what we've recently had.

Our centenary celebrations were PATHETIC, so I'm hoping for 50 years of tangerine that the strip is something special.

It'd also be nice to see a bit of pomp and spectacle to mark the 50th anniversary, it's a good opportunity to reaffirm our identity. United are obviously a football club first and foremost, but we're an entertainment company a close second. 50 years of tangerine is a great opportunity to celebrate what we're all about.

Not difficult - fans get bored in pre-season and roll out of players and strips is a good way to keep their interest - from what he said, theres nothing stopping us unveiling the strip now and selling it in july??

Nothing to stop online sales until the kit is ready to go in the shop.

Correct, but I'm still taken aback by how little United have done to drum up some interest. A lot of Arabs don't actually know that this game is happening.

Our communication continues to frustrate, as you indicate BB.

Don't you think it'll mainly be a young squad which turns out for this match?

For all we know, it could be kids first half, senior players for the 2nd half. I remember at East End Park when McNamara hooked everyone except Andy Robertson one pre season.

After having a blether with Bennyboy and a few others last week regarding the state of Tannadice i thought i would bring this thread back whilst we are oit of season.

The steelwork inside the stadium is a total mess
The exterior of all stands needs a good power wash. Alot of the signage in and around needs replaced.

Hand dryers in toilets are a disgrace as is the running water out the taps.

I helped the Display Team clear up on Friday. It's only once you see the place empty and you've got a minute or two to look around that you fully grasp the extent of neglect and the huge task it will be to smarten the place up.

Loads of seats need replaced, EVERYTHING needs a fresh coat of paint, the filthy, faded, cracked, torn and battered adverts will put future sponsors off, the scaffolding between the GF and East Stand looks horrendous, the same two out of date and faded adverts on the side of the East Stand for ArabZONE and hospitality need something fresh in their place... there's reasonable improvements to be made in so many areas. Everywhere you look it's neglected and dog eared.

Outside, just about everything needs fresh paint, the signage is out of date, faded and battered and in general the whole exterior is clinging with dirt and needs a jet wash.

If you disagree, have a wee walk around the exterior of Tannadice if you get a chance.

I was taken aback by the state of the Almondvale last season, one of Scotland's newest grounds. Just because other places are as run down as Tannadice, or more run down than Tannadice, doesn't make the state of our home okay.

The anniversary of Black Monday is coming up soon. I was driving along in my car this afternoon, just daydreaming with the tunes on as you do, and came up with the following theory. It's obviously speculation, we'll never know for sure, but I reckon that this is plausible:

After the Scottish Cup win in 2010, Stephen Thompson had to shell out for player bonus money, the bus parade, a party at the Hilton and probably other things. Once that was all paid for, he noticed that the cash left was around the same as the runner up prize money.

So, in 2015 when we won the League Cup Semi Final, Stephen Thompson knew that as far as he was concerned, he'd be as well losing the final in financial terms.

After the Semi Final, we knew we'd be without Nadir, so in terms of the bank balance, he thought he may as well just selling Armstrong and GMS as he already knew he'd get £X for League Cup Final split gate money and runner up cash.

And that's why he sold the Cup Final and the rest of the season.

If United spent money on anything except strengthening the team I would be pissed off.

Tannadice is fine as it is.

That's one of the points I was trying to make originally - so when DO we give Tannadice a lick o' paint? If and when we go back up, as long as Neilson has a squad he's happy with that will finish top 6 and challenge for cups (you know, the minimum United should be achieving) then I don't think anyone will be too fussed about Tannadice being smartened up. I think it's long overdue.

So what would I do? Well, I'd need to to a lap around the outside of the stadium with a notepad first things first, but offhand:

Cherry pickers would need to come in and give the stands an initial good jet wash. We did this pre season for the GF a few years ago. But the white fittings get dirty quite quickly. Just about everything on the outside needs a fresh coat of paint, doors that were once tangerine are now peach (if the paint hasn't flaked off). Most of the signage is faded, or battered looking, or half hanging off, or out of date - sorting that out would smarten things up.

Inside, most of the adverts are faded, battered or half hanging off. It doesn't look good to potential sponsors. On the side of the ET stand, the same two adverts have been there for years - one for the commercial team, one for ArabZONE - both are faded and on both the information is out of date. We could just give them to Utilita to show other potential main sponsors how good Tannadice is for brand exposure.

The PA system is badly in need of replacing. I stopped buying 50/50 tickets because I couldn't hear the result (and I find it unbelievable that nobody has the inclination to put the result on United's Twitter or on the scoreboard).

I think the last time anything inside had a lick of paint was in preparation for the Slask Wroclaw game, that would go a long way to freshen the place up.

I think the biggest and most obvious part of Tannadice that needs to be look
