I'm not having a go at Watters. He's obviously no injuring himself. My point is more about our staff or medical team. It was known that Watters had previous then we sign him and sure enough he's out injured, back, then out injured again. It seems to be a recurring theme too. Add in the hamstring injuries and it's getting a bit of a big worry. WTF are they doing? Surely it can't all be "bad luck".

Barnsley fans also called him the worst striker they'd ever had, doing well on the pitch for us though. Hopefully continues when we get him back

Saying he's the worst striker is just their opinion. Stating he's been out injured a lot is actual facts--which seems to being proved correct.
Out injured
Out through illness
Now out for two months---and he's been here for about a month.

Scored 4 goals whilst hardly being on the pitch then yes? Rather have that than another VDS myself tbh

What are you on about? The conversation is nothing about his goals. It's about being injury prone. He's now out for 8 weeks after already being out injured/sick after just a month here. Looking at his recent previous history shows it's a pretty regular thing. So that'll be 9 weeks out of 12 out injured yes? That's pish in anyone's eyes.

There is a reasonable point here though. IF he and others do have a history of a particular kind of injury we should really be trying to tailor his training for that. Like we did with Webster and Wilkie.

At least a couple of Barnsley fans said “better get used to him being on the treatment table more than the pitch.”

I’m pretty sure fans of a club he plays for would know if he’s been out injured multiple times or not.

That’s a f*cking joke to be honest. Some questions have to start being asked about our medical team. Sapsford injury I can take as he was clattered. Two months out for a new signing who has a history of previous injuries is bullshit. Do they not look into potential signings’ medical history or are we just signing crocks and praying we get lucky?

There (rather unbelievably) seems to be a rumour gathering momentum that Nikolaj Moller got injured in training yesterday.

If it's true we are truly cursed.

Hopefully bullshit.

I think there could be some people at the capers. When he signed I checked his Wiki page and his stats were unreal. 41 goals in 33 games for Den Bosch. Obviously total pish.

Hoping that watters has just been playing through the pain barrier in an attempt to get to the 2 week break 🤞

I dunno, i just get the feeling he will be a crock.

Injured on his first touch against Strassen.

Out ill against Hearts

And now done his hammy. He's only been here 4 weeks ffs.

I wish we would stop pissing about and just sign two Strikers. Pig sick of having zero options up front.

If we get one forward injured we're struggling, if we get two we're in crisis. It can't go on like that.

One Barnsley fan mentioned something along the lines of “better get used to him being on the treatment table more than the pitch.” when he joined. Good to see our medical staff doing their due diligence. 4 weeks here and three different instances of injuries/illness.

There is no way all these hamstring injury's can all be coincidence.

Is Goodwin running them too hard in training?

I mentioned this before. Remember Spurs last year having a horrific injury list and one staff member commented about Postecoglu’s philosophy of train as hard as you play being a reason for it. Fast forward a year to a video clip of Goodwin telling the players this will be the hardest preseason they’ve ever done.

4-5 weeks later and here we are with hamstrings pinging all over the place.

Outside of Shankland's PK every goal conceded has come from a cross and 3 of them straight from corners. That's garbage any way you look at it. Needs sorted out and quickly before every team starts to target that.

I'm hearing Strain, Watters and Fatah definitely won't be heading on the plane to Luxembourg.

Dario Nammo going to be a late decision.

What XI and formation for Thursday?

How do we have so many injuries this early in the season? The training? The medical staff? Seems to have been going on for years now.

Trying to mind of a player we had semi recently. A young black guy. Thought he was billy big baws. There was some weird incident with him shouting at fans or running the length of the field or something. Only played about 2-3 games and never seen again.

Let's hope he can get a few early goals to boost his confidence and prove the negative Barnsley fans comments wrong.

Apparently Goodwin would like to add another attacker to the squad as well according to the Courier.

Had a look on the Barnsley forum and they seem genuinely happy to be rid of him!! Hopefully does a “Dalby” and proves them wrong.

Always find it amusing when I see folk that they want Adidas to produce our kits again.   The kits we had in the 80s were the best we've had but times have changed, if we had Adidas kits now, we'd get a generic template that 100 other clubs would be wearing - see our Nike kits for examples - but with Macron and now Errea we've had some really nice bespoke designs - this one being one of those.   Cracking shirt.

It’s worth remembering that in 1980 Adidas were trying to break into the football shirt market. At this time Umbro and Bukta were the major manufacturers of shirts and Admiral was the new entrant.

Liverpool were the first top club to use Adidas, but, to gain entry to the market, Adidas had to court smaller clubs - us and Aberdeen. At the time Adidas only manufactured in West Germany. Very simply, anything Adidas made in the early 80’s was phenomenal (United’s two tone cream and black tracksuit, lasted me 20 years).

Errea is an excellent company. They have innovated with fabrics, dyes and work tirelessly with clubs to produce a shirt which is as individual as it can be from a generic base. The day of a bespoke shirt is long gone.

I do think both our home and away shirts are brilliant.

I think United were the first Scottish club to have Adidas.

“The day of a bespoke shirt is long gone”—-Macron seem to be producing a lot of bespoke efforts. The website “football shirt culture” is good for seeing new kits. A lot of the Macron ones are tremendous. The Sampdoria one being a stand out.

Agree with most of that but the new away kit is a template. Millwall have the exact same design for their away kit with Errea.

Absolutely loved it.

There was an episode i'm sure where they played a team who were basically wearing United strips (Adidas era).

It was Jossys team that wore the United kits.

So many to choose from around that time. The A-Team , Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Airwolf. Then you’ve got kids cartoons that actually had a story and continuation every week: Mysterious Cities of Gold, Ulysses, Dogtanian, Willy Fog. Summer holidays off school with the likes of Red Hand Gang, Why don’t You, Kickstart and the like. I remember a BMX show that was on and only found out recently that the host and one time World Champion Andy Ruffle (who is white) was the co-founder of the MOBO awards!!

I’d probably say Grange Hill for me —the Zammo era(met him on holiday and played 5a side in France!)

Very. very good. A return to form.

'Hotel Reverie' the best episode in a long time, though i've enjoyed them all.

The first episode was brilliant also 'Common People', a very thought provoking storyline and sad.

watched them all except the final episode. To be honest I thought they were really poor and nowhere near previous episodes.  Really didn’t like Hotel Reverie.

Everything about it was perfect. Small stuff like the guy from the original film showing up as the ref for example. The Rocky montage for "You're the best" (which was originally written for Rocky) was great. 100s of little easter eggs in it for the fans like Johnny and Daniel driving by the original apartment block from the first movie in Miyagi's car. Excellent.

True. Some great little details in it mind you. The cobra Kai uniforms are the EXACT same as '84 --right down to the names under the fist. Was disappointed "You're the Best" wasn't used more --that felt rushed. The ending definitely felt satisfying and it's definitely all tied up. A solid 7.5/10.

Well, it's finally finished. Some going for a show that started on YouTube. Thought the ending was perfect. Won't say anymore as others might not have seen it but don't think anyone will be disappointed.
