I suspect he thought he was stuck with Moller and his wage whilst the window was open so what you are really saying Tek is that we should have turned down the (reported) £700K and kept Moller. Personally, having witnessed Moller's last contribution at Easter Road I have no issue with offloading him for no replacement. As my son said at the game, he makes you think we still have futures as professional footballers. I'm 55! We could put a kid from the Youths up there and it would be little different to Moller's contribution.

Agreed the first half atmosphere last week at Falkirk was toxic as hell.

As mentioned previously in this thread players that are out of contract at this stage of the season are out of contract for a reason and will likely not improve us.

100% this. Look at the standard of players we’ve got in January over the last few seasons.

It's already been said that the Moller deal came 'out of the blue and was too good to turn down', so I'd imagine there was no time to get a replacement.

I'm sure we will have looked at any available options, no point just bringing anyone in if they won't improve us.

I’d imagine we’ll definitely activate the options on Graham and Sevelj to keep them another year. I’d like us to keep Sibbald too. Three pretty reliable players and good professionals.

Trapanovski has been too inconsistent and injury prone I feel, but won’t be gutted if we give him another year.

Re atmosphere at away games being toxic I don't get it, you've spent all that time, money, effort to just go and moan like fuck, some folk take no joy it seems, game lasts 90 minutes. let it play out.

Can't afford to turn the money down, can't afford not maybe not replace him.

I get that it was maybe out of the blue, and until it happened there was no need to replace him, by which time we couldn't anyway, but we are short now regardless of his ability/contribution.

I personally would've been looking for an additional striker anyway, I think most fan accepted that keeper and a goalscorer positions were we were coming up short.

Maybe Agyei and Farrugia will go on to be stars for us, but unless they were a taken them now or miss out deal, I think we'd had enough to cope without them.

Im no big fan of Goodwin but I do feel he's being blamed for something here that I genuinely dont think is his fault. I'm sure there's not a single manager out there that wouldn't bring in another striker in our situation if they were given the option. Plenty of people wanted rid of Moller and wanted Stirton to get his chance,and thats exactly where we are at. I personally didn't think Stirton was ready and still don't but he's now got the opportunity to prove me wrong. I'd sincerely love to be wrong.

I know it was late on in the Spartans game and they were tiring ,pushing for a goal and pushed a CH up but definitely thought Owen genuinely offered more than Watters ever has.
Can’t for the life of me see why we wouldn’t start Owen over Watters.

If he had we'd be down to 2, I'd personally give Watters more chance to rediscover his early season form. He's shown he can score goals. Either way we dont have that much choice now anyway.

I totally agree with that BMT. Also think although Stirton is really raw he is at least going to improve with game time and is a United supporter. Watters will not improve, we've all seen how poor he's been since last November now. Not one good performance in that time.

Agree with Tek though, Goodwin should have used his budget better to sign a Forward. I don't necessarily agree either that there is no-one out there without a club who couldn't offer something to us.

He (Goodwin) hasn't handled the January window very well again imo. It was only a month ago we planned to punt Stirton to Airdrie. Now he's front and centre. Seems poor planning to me, that and putting too much trust in players who were letting him down. Moller started his last two games before his sale remember.
