Would be incredibly surprised if we got nisbet, you’d think hibs would take him back and Aberdeen would take him if bojan leaves, both would pay more than us

I think he's got talent but his record at Millwall doesn't blow me away. 27 appearances and 5 goals. Maybe the spfl suits him better though.
Also - noticed he's 27 - I didn't think he was that old

I'm getting Stevie Crawford/Lee Miller vibes about this.

Any signing is a risk, he comes in and he's pish, i'd hope we make it an deal that can be cancelled at Xmas.
On the other hand, he comes in has a great start to the season, Millwall recall him at Xmas and sell him.
Would be great if we cold afford to buy him and he's ours to sell, but the fee and wages would be way more than we should be looking to pay.
I'll wait and see if he signs first before worrying, but he'd score goals and with the addition of the two Macedonian lads, we're addressing the issue of creativity.

He's too similar to Moult imho. I'd prefer either a proper big target man or a speed merchant.

100% not happening

100% agree.
Would like both in an ideal World and somehow get Watt and MacLeod out on loan.

JG saying he expects two in next week.

So much for the imminent announcement then

If we can get in a half decent centre mid, winger and striker then get rid of Grimshaw, Watt and Middleton it’ll be a successful window.

I think we need 1 more CB, a tough tackling CM type who can control a game, another winger and another striker in as things currently stand.
If we let Grimshaw, Watt and Middleton go, then we will need to replace them to have a good sized squad to see us through the season.
I think McLeod will go out on loan and maybe even another of the young lads - possibly Cleall-Harding or Forbes to get them valuable first team experience.

If we get rid of those three we will have a bench full of kids again.

I agree. However, part of me would rather have kids on the bench than a sulking Watt and petted bottom lipped Middleton, if that is how they are acting.

If what we saw on Tuesday nights subs was anything to go by then yeah I agree we would be better off with the kids. Tony and Glenn didn’t do themselves any favours with that display. Tony put more effort into the half time warm up than he did when he came on.

“United are poised to sign ADO Den Haag frontman Jort van der Sande” according to The S*n.

Eindhoven 81 games 21 goals
NAC Breda 36 games 13 goals

Watched a YouTube compilation of him there. The way he plays reminds me so much of Jon Daly, even down to his running style. Looks a really clever player with a great eye for a pass, and likes to bring others into the game with his physicality and movement. Not exactly pacy but looks like he actually has a wee bit more skill than JD which he seems to use well,
If he’s even half the player Jon Daly was, we’re on to a winner. Quite excited about this one.

Video I watched just now he looks as much a supplier as a finisher, not greedy at all. Always hard to judge on YouTube how good someone is but fingers crossed

Since Daly left I think we all, every season, have been hoping to get a “Daly type” player in.
If above turns out to be correct I am very excited. Sounds a bit like Fletcher if he has a bit more skill than Daly?
Daly was one I never appreciated properly until later in his united career. In addition to being brilliant for us he also had a lot to do with Goody and Russel’s development.

Boy on pie and bovril who’s normally spot on says there’s someone with a bit of pace also on route which is great news

Watt was a fucking disgrace when he came on. As he was on Saturday.

I didn't see the game, or how he was acting. Happy to take your word for it.
Is Watt still vice captain?
Offline
Watt’s only happy if he feels valued and in the starting XI every week. I think he’d be a nightmare to manage if he’s relegated to being a squad player, to the point of being an extremely disruptive and negative influence in the dressing room.
If, as speculated elsewhere, we’re signing two strikers, then there’s really no room for Watt in the side. We’d be better even sending him out on loan for the remainder of his deal and subsidising his wages if need be.

Strain out for 4-5 months, a right back is now a priority.
