Courier reporting the goalie still has to complete a medical and a few other minor things (assume some work permit stuff?) so likely announced officially by us nearer the end of the week.

We still need another striker, attacking mid and centre mid before we’re ready for the season.

Kilmarnock away in 11 days and the team is no stronger from middle to front currently. A pathetic transfer window so far.
Need 3 or 4 in this week. And all need to be 1st team ready.
Time for the Sporting Director to do his job and back his Manager.

Archie Meekison looks ready to play more regular games was far and away our best player at the weekend and Fletcher is an upgrade on McNulty. Pathetic is a bit strong considering we have forked out £300,000 on Levitt despite having received no fees this summer subject to Lewis Neilson's tribunal.

An odd definition of "pathetic".
An international striker
An international midfielder
Australian keeper of the year
A solid midfield pro
And more to come.
I actually congratulate the club on its business so far.

Most folk that went to the games last year were well in agreement that squad needed major strengthening. There is always the odd crazy cat that won't hear a bad word said but for the most for a long while it's been a really hard watch.
So far we have been slow off the blocks as per usual.
Fingers crossed that we can get in a few more but it more hope than expectation. The manager has been quite direct in saying he needs 5 players (including the Aussie).
With a bit of luck Tony might be back behind his desk this week and getting on with the day job.
Happy with Levitt I think that us fans played a massive role in getting him to come here by making both the lad and his parents very welcome, but the club obviously deserve credit.
Time will tell with Fletcher , I've no doubt about his quality and I know he played a good few games last year but he's a year older at 35 and injured already. Fletcher will also be on some wedge, so let's hope my fears are unfounded and he contributes well this season.
Sibbald is the easiest one and one that I think will be a good addition, someone who will be busy on the pitch for us and can play in a number of positions, a real team player.
The keeper also is a massive gamble in my opinion, a guy for some reason never quite settled in Holland or Wales and here we are shelling out a transfer fee for him. Let's hope he can make a comfortable move and settle in well from Perth Australia to Dundee.
There's a mountain of graft to be getting on with and let's hope there is no quiz nights coming up😉

I’d echo this
Seriously disappointing window in terms of lack of numbers again, yeah the quality looks good so far but the lack of depth in our team in the attacking areas is worrying and for 3rd season on trot can’t see where the service for goals will be provided.

We never paid 300k for Levitt from what i heard.
We can only hope that Fletcher is an upgrade on McNulty, but at his age we will need to wait and see if he plays regularly and can offer more goals and all round attacking intent (though it would be hard not to).
If we never get any compo for Neilson then who's failing is that? And it has went totally quiet in that regard.
Will concede Meekison looks a good prospect but not convinced he is still anymore than a squad man at this stage, rather than an out and out starter most weeks. Also not sure he is at the stage of his career to chip in with goals etc.
Something we need from midfield this season and going forward.
Lastly we did take a nominal fee for Carson to go to St.Mirren. We've also gotten 16 players off the wage bill this Summer. That's a considerable saving in wages.
We also received compo from Honved for Courts services.
Time to back Jack Ross heavily.

I don't doubt for a second that the recruitment planning has been pretty much constant over the summer. But I am guessing the slow-down recently is due to us waiting for our 'Prime' targets.
I wonder how close we are getting to the stage where we have to give these prime targets an ultimatum and move onto our next options? Granted, the wait for that extra quality might be worth it, and lets be honest, our chances of making a splash in Europe have dampened after yesterday's draw (assuming AZ go through). So if the club are willing to take our chances in Europe and the first couple of games of the season in the hope that these top targets will be acquired this window then fair enough. But I'd hope to see this justified as the season goes on with another top 6 finish at the very least.
Big risk to take, but I have no idea what is happening behind the scenes so its all a guessing game.

We all know we are short, the manager especially.
We have one competitive fixture and two weeks of training before we take on a team that goes head to head and decently holds their own v Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV..
It's very unlikely we progress past Alkmaar, but you'd think given what's at stake if we do, then we'd be further along the road than we are.

Come on mate. How long will this charade last? I agree with you, the players we've brought in have been of a good standard. But the season starts next Saturday and we are 16 days away from our Euro tie and we're still (by the managers own words) at least 4 outfield players short of where we need to be.
I'll agree that Tek's use of 'pathetic' might be a bit strong in my opinion. I don't know what I'd go for at this stage but it is somewhere in between pathetic and something to be 'congratulated' on, thats for sure. Strong but slow might be the best way to describe it for me. If this week goes by without at least one more outfield player signed then I'll really start to question wtf is going on.

I don't recall anything about us receiving compensation from Honved? Not sure where that's coming from. As far as I knew we released him and then he signed on with them.

That was my understanding too, when Courts resigned.
But a few days later our Sporting Director was quoted in the article below as saying Honved paid for his services.

That's the first time I've seen that article mate, cheers

On the new keeper, it's a big transition from Australia to Scotland, in terms of footballing style, expectation levels, climate and culture. I hope he does well.
After Sunderland game, its obvious we need a better keeper, that's all I will say

When Benji first played for United it was obvious we needed a better keeper than him, but he turned out alright in the end.

Guys, settle down.
We just need to sort out a few more corporate partnerships, then we’ll get to adding the quality that we desperately need.
It’s fine, not like we have any really really important games coming up.
Offline
In the meantime, we’ll let a few names get out there to keep the plebs happy.
Kick a few tyres, and miss out on available talent.
We signed Levitt, and it’s great. But it doesn’t mean we stop.

I doubt they have stopped. But we need to see some movement soon.

I totally understand we have until the end of August.
But I also know there was 3/4 areas we badly needed quality in.
And a big game at the start of August.
