Terms agreed with Fletcher.
He’s ’due back on Monday’ (to Tannadice / from holiday, I don’t know)
Unless he gets a great offer before then, he’s coming to United.
Really like this signing if true

Well, that's one to get the fans moist.
Just what we're after though, a striker who doesn't score a lot of goals.

Going by what the Stoke fans are saying regards Fletcher.
They agree with the decision to release him and recruit a younger Striker
They still think in the majority he's a good player
They wish they had him playing for Stoke 10 years previous
They have appreciated his hold up play, effort and commitment
My problem with his signing isn't just his age. It's that he sounds a bit too similar to Tony Watt in style (though he's arguably better than Watt technically).
Just feel we need different types of attackers (a target man, a player with outright pace). Most of all a finisher who's in his prime or approaching it.

If this is true, does it mean the chance of getting Shankland back is now zero...

My first thought/concern.

I'm not sure that there was ever any viable chance of signing Lawrence, or even any interest from the club.
It's amazing what people believe sometimes.

Amazing isn't it ! Fans speculating over possible new signings.
Whatever next🤷♂️
You just put your wee head doon and leave the signings to the men in suits.

I'm clinging onto the hope that as we've seen with Niskanen and Eriksson, foreign players who were on international duty were given a bit of extra time off, most returning to their clubs for training on Monday.
So come Monday it should be scarves above the head ahoy.

Jack Ross was on Sportsound this afternoon and confirmed that we are in a good position with a deal for Levitt with talks advanced.
Looking to add pace to the squad which we really need imo.
Also he never denied any links to Zander Clark or Lawrence Shankland.
No matter who it is that comes in it looks like being a busy week ahead.

It doesn't sound like Jack Ross is going to settle for average players so hopefully some exciting announcements next week. A lot of chat about Steven Fletcher and some hopeful talk of Levitt being on the flight to Spain. Not sure about Fletcher tbh but at least he's not McNulty I guess 😋

Certainly can't be as bad as McNulty, but as Ross said this afternoon the fact we ain't in the league Cup groups has given us a bit of time to get neq players in. That time is coming to an end though so a few new faces are imminent.
Quality over quantity every day of the week.
On a side note he also said he won't be promoting players just to tick boxes with graduates.

Slightly unrelated -
Utd played a friendly against Falkirk today.
Lost 3-2
Mixture of first team players and kids (but heavy on the latter i'm told).
Mathew Cudjoe and Rory MacLeod scorers.

Listened to the interview as well, Tom English really hates United doesn’t he? No way he asks questions like that live on radio to manager of Huns, Celtic or his beloved Hearts.

Absolutely spot on. Its an open secret the BBC has a strong anti-Dundee United agenda, with Mr English leading the charge.
This is why it's more important than ever that the fans stay UNITED together with the players, manager and board. No one likes us but we don't care.

English was defo trying to impy that something was wrong at the club with 4 managers in 4 years and was implying that TA was behind this

first 45 mins first team, 2nd 45 the kids. as Ross said in the interview the kids played better.
So Glass Chalmers Sheep Graham all played first 45 but any one younger played second 45

He’s probably right though. I’d say he’s doing his job correctly. AU shown he’s not TA. The use of the Rangers no on likes us is clearly a troll. I for one will not be uniting b hind TA. He’s not my club.

Absolutely worth it, but can we afford his wages?
