Not being funny mate but how do you know how hard they worked?
Classic case of our fans finding literally anything to moan about.
It's taken an age to sort out and it doesn't smack of the player really being committed. I think you will find that I'm one of the more positive ones so that's a little unfair, and I'll challenge anyone to find a post where I've had anything negative to say about Ian Harkes as a player. He has been on holiday in America. You don't know how committed or uncommitted he is
A 1 year deal suggests not very

Harkes.
A wee bit underwhelming.
Solid 6 and half per match squad man.
Good professional.
Hopefully JR can get him up to 7
Now Levitt, Shanks ... dreams are made !

Anybody at the meet n greet? Anything said?

At least he would make sick note fight for a place on the treatment table.

He actually played 39 times for Stoke last season.
Only 3 goals.

A 3 year deal is on offer to Zander Clark from United.
Appears the club are looking for a quick response to that from him.

Would be a very very good signing, his link up play has always been very decent and good in the air, would probably score a good but still if giving service

I'm fairly chuft aboot Harkes. As fowk have sayed, he's a no bad player, and on his day he can make the difference. The winners against the BNBs and the SSBs spring to mind.

I thought today was the day to unveil a new player or 2 in the new kit.. Still time 🤞🤞

Dundalk want Mark Connolly again for this season. Had forgotten he still played for us.

Yeah Mark is one of the good guys. My hunch is he will go back to Ireland on loan, but let's be honest if he did come back it would be almost like a new signing. He was brilliant for us, until personal circumstances unfortunately affected him.
I for one would be happy to see him back and fighting for his place.

Terms agreed with Fletcher.
He’s ’due back on Monday’ (to Tannadice / from holiday, I don’t know)
Unless he gets a great offer before then, he’s coming to United.

I'm not a fan of old guys seeing out their final days at the club.
However it worked last season with Mulgrew so here's hoping we get lucky again.

Really like this signing if true

Well, that's one to get the fans moist.
Just what we're after though, a striker who doesn't score a lot of goals.

Going by what the Stoke fans are saying regards Fletcher.
They agree with the decision to release him and recruit a younger Striker
They still think in the majority he's a good player
They wish they had him playing for Stoke 10 years previous
They have appreciated his hold up play, effort and commitment
My problem with his signing isn't just his age. It's that he sounds a bit too similar to Tony Watt in style (though he's arguably better than Watt technically).
Just feel we need different types of attackers (a target man, a player with outright pace). Most of all a finisher who's in his prime or approaching it.

If this is true, does it mean the chance of getting Shankland back is now zero...

My first thought/concern.

I'm not sure that there was ever any viable chance of signing Lawrence, or even any interest from the club.
It's amazing what people believe sometimes.
