Need to play the strongest team, draw or lose by fielding a weak / experimental team then we are playing catch up to qualify, yes we are still getting the fitness levels up here but this is the league cup in the end of the day.

Saying that I’ve been on holiday since the start of preseason so have no clue what these lads are like yet so no use in me guessing.

I’m trying to no getting carried away by this, last season we convincingly beat Montrose and then went on a decent winning run in the cup and league. Wheels soon fell off and we were shite thereafter. I’d happily forgive a closed door bounce game for a league win by the end of it all.

That's an interesting one for me in terms of the comment about us, why even mention us??. Wright has lost Callum Davidson in the last week two as he is away to Stoke and now his keeping coach is being tracked. I don't think he is a happy man at St Johnstone and my understanding is he has only signed a one year deal as he's fed up with the Chairman there being less than keep to support signings.

If Laszlo makes a dogs arse of things in the coming few months and we have to change I'd be more than willing to bet he would be delighted to speak to Martin about the job.

Canny see this happening, if we did pull it off then fair play to the management team and board but I just canny see it.

That was a superb watch, raw interview and clear to see the banter that went on back in the day.

Maybe it’s still the deep disappointment of the past few years but I am not overly excited about any of these signings.

Saying that I’m not sure signing Bale would have me jumping for joy in my current mood towards the club.
