If we could get that noise at home games it would really get the boys going, just can’t see it happening though

For me Ayr will not be able to keep this up and will hit the skids at some point. So if we can keep in and about it over the coming few weeks to give RN time to get his ideas and settle the side then we might have a chance to kick on come Christmas, however we are also notorious for also hitting the skids at Christmas and well into the new year.

You look back to that squad and the likes of Kjell, Wee Erik and Lars who were brought in during his time. What could we do with boys like that now

Dundee United » ST not in charge Laszlo not in the dugout.... » 10/10/2018 10:23 pm

I’ve stuck with it for most of the home games and it’s been so demoralising. Hoping with an increase in the fans and a better product on the pitch that we can start to get some feel good factor about the place again. How long ago did that happen??

There needs to be a point when we start to head back up in the right direction and for the sake of us all we need that to be now.

However a point of caution, we need to give him a bit of breathing space and the players to great this new way of working to come together.

I’m happy, Wright was my first choice but Robbie was a close second so let’s get this shit show on the road, connect the resuscitation paddles and jumpstart the heart of this club again

If Thistle are wanting to speak to him he’d be stupid not to listen to both teams. Any of us would do the same if we had two employers wanting us. Just hopefully the size, statute and possibilities at Utd are more than theirs. Still believe he’ll be in training tomorrow

Dundee United » Tommy Wright » 03/10/2018 4:07 pm

If you can take a small club like St Johnstone, win the Scottish Cup, continually push for a top 6 finish then you're doing no bad.

Wright is the longest serving manager i believe in the SPFL so given the fact he can keep a job and those who are being mentioned are obviously out of work tells it's own story.

He might not be managing a Barca style football team but given the money available to him there to get results he needs to forgo style for points. Maybe given a bigger budget he would let the football flow a bit more.

Saying that he is a focused and dogged manager who demands his players given him and the fans everything, he'd steady the ship imo as lets face it can his football style be any worse that what we've been watching. We HAVE to get out of this league by ANY means necessary. Then we can start to demand attractive football.

At this moment I’d forgo pretty football if we can get this ship turned around. CL was being crusified when he first took over again at Hearts, needed to get his house in order and now look at them!

Wright is my pick, he’s not happy with the Perth board and as such only signed a one year contract till the end of this season because of this. He also knows we are a big club needing steering in the (Wright) direction.

How much can 7mths comps actually be??

Dundee United » Sack every one of them. » 29/9/2018 6:34 pm

He’s no walking cause he ken’s He’ll no get a penny. MM needs to grow some balls and get shot NOW!!! How Robson lasted 90mins is beyond me, he was roasted the whole game and the flapper in the goals was no much better

The laddie Glass is that type of player, but it's a lot to put on young shoulders to drive the whole team forward.

Nothing about the article surprises, he acts like he’s off the wall during the games so why would Training be any different. McDonald was not the best player we’ve seen but was certainly not the worst. He was also played out of position for me. He’s a poacher six yard box player but we played him as a number 10 midfielder.

I’m really struggling to get any energy to give a shit about Utd at the moment

Roger Boli

2 disallowed goals in his debut, 1 goal and left after 5 appearances.

Spunked £30 on a top with his name on it then tried to pick it off and was left with a glue patch Boli on my back for the season (or two if this was a 2 season strip)

You need to win games like today if you want to win the league. It’s that simple, not good enough.

Dundee United » Yannick Loemba on Twitter » 11/8/2018 9:53 pm

Ye he’s really taken the fans and club to his heart, give it a wee dip and a couple of defeats and the twitter interaction could become a bit less friendly, which would be a shame but we have some keyboard warriors kicking about.

I’d imagine the board are already in ‘contact’ with agents of managers putting the feelers out now. They know, we know and Laszlo ultimately knows this is only going to end one way now.

He’s lost the fans already and from that there is no way back in the modern game. His chance was given during the close season to get a new squad ready to dominate the league. Given the cup and Saturday in terms of results but more importantly performance it is clear to all he isn’t the man to take us forward.

Even a victory on saturday will only be used to give the board more time to get their new man ready to go. Problem is the transfer window closing but then again we have made our bed in terms of signings now anyway. Which poses the question to whether the signings have been Laszlo’s or Luggy/Bowman bringing in the majority of these lads.

Certainly more questions than answers at the moment.

For me we were off the pace fae the start and never got going. Second to every loose ball all day long and the goal was more a stramash, however they all count.

Given being in front and shooting towards us, we plodded out and almost got caught by the long range effort at the start of the half. That should have been enough to get the levels raised. We then did ok for 5mins but once we missed the header which would have made it two we reverted to type and compitulated.

Not one player on that park would have got more than a 4/10 from me yesterday. Must have been Baron’s Mum who chose MOTM as he was miles off the level I’m expecting from a midfielder.

Dundee United » Crowd yesterday » 05/8/2018 1:45 pm

That was the most crowd we’ve had in a long time. It will stay the biggest crowd for a while as most returning yesterday will more than likely no be back. I can’t blame them either
