Unfortunately I was just a kid in the 80's and early 90's and by the time I was old enough and had the money to go abroad to see Utd in Europe in the late 90's and early 00's were were shite and never qualified. Of course by the time we started getting back there (2010-12) I've got the wife and kids and can't afford it! Nightmare.
That is exactly my situation mate, have managed to continue to keep supporting the team at hame games and get to a few away games each year. My son is 4 and took him this season so hoping he gets the bug and is my life ticket to all things shed.

I'd stick with the team from Monday and see how GMS goes, either he'll be on fire or he'll let the game pass him by, if so throw Anier on second half and move Nads Oot left!
If JM thinks he's no right Erskine should come in to start for me

GMS on his day is absolutely one of the best players that have ever played for Utd BUT he hadn't done it regularly enough as if he had we would have been waving bye bye to him over twa years ago.
In the end of the day the players have the power not the clubs. If a club came in with a £500k offer it is up to the player to agree to go not the clubs. GMS wants to go to Celtic he'll go to Celtic nothing a manger or Chairman can do. Think Thomson is sticking the price out to see who if any are willing to pay that GMS might fancy. If no fishes bite ye get fook all.

Agree this has nothing to do with the Chairman, GMS for the past 12 months has known he was leaving and it’s a combination of his injuries and poor level of performance in the past 6 mths in particular that has left him with a choice of lower level English teams or Celtic.
A shoe in to pick up some cup / league winner medals, Champions League possibilities at Celtic, also a shoe in Strachan Scotland Call up as soon as the first hoop is over his heed or going nowhere in the lower reaches of English football, taking off your Tangerine Specs what would you do?
Now this is actually where there is a bit of a problem more for Jackie IMO.
Does he go with GMS in the team knowing that any drop in performance will see the fans giving him dogs abuse for no giving a shite now he has his move.
or
He could drop him out of his plans after his last three performance and if things go tits up in terms of cups and league position then the finger is pointed at him for leaving a possible match winner out!
Interesting times ahead but would agree any dip in GMS form and Nadir drops into that position and leaves Anier up top!

If he's right I'll keep the identity secret for future snippets but if he's talking shite I'll out him.Just for clarity, was it a direct quote or second hand?
It was a text from a member of the Tannadice staff Bugsy he is a not on the coaching staff and the quote was the club admin have been asked to "get papers ready" whatever that means.
As i said it's not 100% but i have no reason not to believe him! Time will tell i suppose!

I'm going yes IF he can get to the standard of last season, forget the Hun balls that goes with it he can score goals, goals win games! remember a certain William Dodds coming from the sheep no getting a game and being too fat was dynamite for us!
He would also be cup tied for both cups though.
Realistically our best chance of success.
Seems a bit daft when we need a forward in to sign one who cannae play in 2/3rds of the tournaments were competing in.
Though it would be the same with Billy McKay i suppose.
Fair point I hadn't thought about that!! fuck it, we'll sign Messi instead

I agree with that, supporters at times banging on we have no plan b so surely Boyd would give us that throw a ball in and see what happens if our normal style is being ineffective

Few tweets that Sheffield United have upped the offer to £1m. Canny see the'd up it that much from £250,000 but you never know

If we could get him fit and firing IMO he would be a great signing, he was THE reason Killie stayed up last year and you don't become totally shite overnight, unless your Torres!

Some really interesting points on ArabZONE from Jackie and am liking his thoughts on the mentality of players looks like some boys who are mentally weak will be out the door, don't think any of us can disagree that this is the main issue at the moment. We can get up for Celtic and Dundee but canny against St Johnstone and Partick. Must drive the management daft as well as us!
I normally find Jackie's interviews pretty boring tbh.The same old generic fitba manager speak, and repeats himself a lot.
But i loved that interview today.First time i've seen him bare his teeth a wee bit and there seemed a wee bit of fire in the belly.Which i have been waiting a while to see.I often find him too laidback.
Was also very interesting to hear him say (in a roundabout way) that he felt we had the ability to win the league. But didn't have the belief and if players couldn't handle the pressure he'd get rid of them.
Reminded a wee bit of Levein after we lost at Ibrox early on in his tenour.Though Jackie puts his point across in a more relaxed manner.
It sounds like he isn't keen to keep any of the out-of contract players on given his response to that question and his demeanour during the answer. He looked pissed off with the players agents and reluctance to approach him regarding a renewal.Almost like Utd are the last resort.I understand that anger tbh.Should be a cut-off point imo for offering players new deals and if they don't want to even discuss with the club we move on (looks like we already are tbh).
Good stuff fae Jackie today.
No idea why Joe Rice doesn't ask about our injuries to Morris,Souttar,Bilate etc though.Fans are totally in the dark on injuries.
100% agree with that TEK he at time looked pissed off to say the least, seems like some boys are weak as piss mentally at times and seem only able to get up for the big games rather that the mentality that is needed every week to continue to win week in week out! Unfortun
