Reference Gallagher, Babunski & now Docherty. The club is being quite critical, no time for sentiment, which is the way it should be I guess.
We know nothing of the contracts and surmising could be so inaccurate.
I'd have a guess that Gallagher got a 2-yr contact in 2023 on £3k/wk and maybe this time he was offered just one year at £2.5k??
Middleton might be on £2.5k and has maybe been offered 2 years at £2k? Really don't know.
What he has to do is weigh up the consequences & speak to his wife. It is all about bread & butter & we as a club do not have money to burn.
Anyone ITK?

Dundee United » Tekel Towers - End of Season Awards » 20/5/2025 8:38 am

PotY - Gallacher/Holt
YPotY - SCH (yeah, he's that good)
BS - Will Ferry
UH - Jim Goodwin (good call Stillliving)
GotS - Meshack v Hibs
BG (call it the only game) - last Saturday by a mile
3 words - turgid, backwards, ecstasy

SCH was brilliant yesterday and on Wednesday.

His snapshot on the edge of the box was absolute quality

We should be getting him signed up on a long contract and make him our main man for the next few years

I hope Ross G is also getting well rested up for next season

Agreed 100%. We might have something special on our hands here.
Was Jim right in keeping him back the last few weeks or should he have come in when Holt departed?

I forgot about Dave's point blank save towards the end, I was too busy sh!tting myself.
And his flying save a bit earlier.
Both saves resulted in us finishing fourth so well done Dave, No 1 jersey for him next season?
Actually both might be in the brilliant save category.

Doubt very much he's been enjoying the way we play and will have his suitcases packed. I believe Blackpool were watching him, he's going to end up at the likes of them or Preston Bolton Stockport etc and triple wages if not more.

You're right Redford, we're crippled by wages.
If you're half decent in our team you'll get £3k/wk.
You'll easy get that in the 5th tier down south.
Three times that that in the 4th tier etc etc.
So the English market isn't really for us.
All we can afford is the loan percentages but then maybe not even that.

Dundee United » Rangers vs DUFC - Wednesday 14th May » 15/5/2025 11:28 am

I'd guess he was 95% fit so benched him for him to be 100% for the far more important game v the Sheep.
Shame in a way cos it's not often a player, even goalies, can say he played 90 mins of every single game.

Dundee United » The disaster that was the January Transfer Window » 12/5/2025 10:32 am

We were screaming for fresh faces in January and when they were announced we were all pretty chuffed remember.
But if we hadn't signed anyone we'd still be screaming yet.
You cannae win.

Dundee United » Prediction League 24/25 - Match Day #43 » 09/5/2025 11:31 am

TERRORS 1 BUDDIES 0
I've been predicting 1-0 home wins all season (apart from the obvious) so am not going to stop now.
Despite the fact that it hasn't done me an awful lot of good.
Mid-table mediocrity

Dundee United » DUFC v Celtic - Saturday 26th April (12.30 PM) » 28/4/2025 1:40 pm

Well done Finn & Stilliving, there's been some awful shite spouted about all things Saturday so it was good to read some sense. Applying to hospo matters & Campbell. Thankyou.

That's some list of departures, both certain & projected.
Can TEK list who it leaves?
It's a huge opportunity to clear the decks.
If we get it right we could be in clover.
Spot-on recruitment & we could be looking at 3rd place AND A F'N CUP RUN.
Exciting times.

Dundee United » Split Fixtures » 19/4/2025 9:05 am

Two policemen stationed at either side of the Jerry Kerr section behind the dugouts would do the trick would it not?

Dundee United » Split Fixtures » 17/4/2025 4:23 pm

Just glad it's not my problem.
We just don't have enough of our own support, it's always been like that.
When you have a core support of 8,000 it's difficult calling the shots compared to Hearts, Hibs & Aberdeen who have twice as big supports.
I'm glad we do have the 5th biggest home gates in the country and by some distance ahead of the Fun, Killie & M'well but it still leaves us kowtowing to away fans.
Kerching at the end of the day tho.

Constable will most likely end up as a right back or a central midfielder so we could well see him in the first team.

My mate who watched the youths said that Charlie Dewar is the best player they've got so I would not rule him out yet.

I wish I could watch the youths.
In fact I wish the youths could watch the youths - they hardly ever play!
Was that one game your mate saw them?
Some of them must be worn out after a 12-game season.

P.S. On checking the website they don't play at all.

No, he goes to all the home games and some away games as well, he has a family member in the u18s.

I appreciate if you had a relative playing you would try to watch as many games as possible, irrespective of day & time.
Outwith the first team I haven't seen a single 'other' game this season but it's not for the want of trying. I can't get to St Andrews on a Tuesday afternoon.
It gets very little coverage too, I can't see much at all on the official website. There are certainly no squad details whatsover tho I don't think our website wins many prizes.

Celtic will get the Shed, Jerry Kerr and Fair Play, as they have for the last 30 odd years. United won't sell much more than the George Fox and ET stand for this game.

That's it exactly.
And I'll be sitting in the Dode Upper minding my own business.
And I'll be counting.
Kerching.

Dundee United » Utd Loan Watch » 15/4/2025 3:48 pm

You'll soon find out if any of them are any good.
They'll be off to Luton Town for a development fee before we even know the name.
Brandan Forbes anybody, think we got one game out of him back in August?

Dundee United » Top 6 run in » 13/4/2025 8:59 am

Yeah, we've got there but it's not been bonny, far from it.
I've seen better games on the Coup.
Yesterday was the season in a microcosm.
We now can benefit from a large turnover of staff but please, no dummies.
