Since the club changed to Tangerine?

It certainly feels like it right at the moment. Depressing.

Can you name a worse one?
Totally outplayed and deservedly beaten by a mid-table team in Scotland's 3rd tier.

Would say getting pumped 6-1 aff Falkirk is worse than tonight.

Very possibly but the last two years have been horrific.
- 0-2 home v East Fife
- 0-5 home v Ayr
- 1-5 home v Ross County
- 3-0 away v QOTS
- 0-3 home v Morton
- 6-1 away v Falkirk
some of these results are absolutely criminal. I feel sick just thinking about them but this one is a viable candidate for number one.

Horrific. And definitely up there.
But.
1) A team in the same league as us (at the time)
2) A far bigger team than East Fife
3) Away from home

That's not even mentioning. The 3 away defeats to Dumbarton (1-0,1-0 and 3-2)
And the 2-1 defeat to Alloa.
p.s. probably forgot another couple of horrorshows myself.

Yes mate, had blanked the Dumbarton ones and contemplated the Alloa one. Sad thing is that took me 10/15 seconds of brain storming to think of them all and I was at all but the Falkirk 6-1. Gutting.

In 50 years most certainly not but in the overall scheme of things that tonight was a real stinker.
It's a time for calm and a chance for reflection but my initial thought is tonight's result might have serious ramifications.
We are out of the League Cup & the air of optimism has received a pounding.

I don't think this result is the worst, as the ramifications of a result should be taken into account.
If it means a positive change, perhaps in Robbie's mindset (which I reckon is unlikely) or in the management of the club, then I'll accept it was a necessary reversal.
My feeling is that the majority of United fans hoped and prayed Robbie was the answer to our predicament, while putting to the back of our minds his responses to such as the defeat at Alloa at the end of December, and reaction following full time at Paisley in the last match that actually mattered. That is leaving aside his negative tactics.
Nonetheless, who would do better? Can we keep on dismissing managers?
But can we make the same mistake as previous seasons in keeping a poor manager on in the hope he suddenly becomes inspired?

Don't know if it's the worst result, too many to choose from tbh. But I do know it's fucking abysmal and unacceptable. Absolutely gutted by this performance and full of dread for the season once again. No way are we going up whilst we still have this kind of performance in our repertoire

Times in the game reminded me of our defeat to Crusaders in Nov 2017 in the Callenge Cup QF.
That game was the start off the end for some including Quinn.
This was more embarrassing.
Again the speed of play, tacitics and mindset was predictable enough to allow a part time team suss us out, fight harder and faster and get the breaks you sometimes get when you know the opposition see you as a wee team that doesnae matter. Add a bit of luck and a couple of suspect ref decisions and yer a hero at work the morning after and rivals laughing at us again.
I'm more annoyed this time as I feel we have a better squad.
RN needs tae have a really deep think about this caper, his tactics and how we avoid a repeat in the league as we will play wee teams set up the same, with the same ideas that can derail a title challenge never mind the other 3 qtrs of the league who are after winning it or hitting the playoffs.

Right guys, just forget the league win now, we are about four league games away from 10 points behind leaders and starting to fear making the play offs.
Going to have a new manager next season and new hope then.....can see why not got my season ticket through now......going to reward loyal season ticket holders by holding onto them all season

Ive been a strong advocate for the manager but as you say, that celebrating at FT in Paisley had me doubting a bit. Only saw second half today (yesterday for you) watched through my fingers at work. Still too many passengers and really questioning the manager now.

It’s so early in the season but that performance more than result is so deflating. The league is a totally different kettle of fish and other championship clubs have suffered embarrassing results in the last couple of weeks but that is a massive blow and we need a fast start in the league to get people’s confidence back up, fans and playing staff alike.
I may be clutching at straws but I wonder if there is a chance we could bring Safranko in on Loan? No club have made Aalborg an offer as for as I’m aware so they may be happy by now just to have some or all of his wages covered and it’d be the positive boost we really need at the moment.

I'd rather we just get a new manager in who can inspire the players and support. I quite honestly find Neilson so beige. Boring interviews, boring tactics and boring style of play. Said it many many times on here but teams tend to mirror their Manager. Not a real surprise we look so insipid so often.
Get new man in now and give him the last month of the window to get the 4 or 5 quality (and they need to be quality) players in we need.
I want us to get a man in who is charismatic and the whole support get's behind. But also someone who takes no shit and sticks up for the club, at all times.

Simples, no we cannot.

It all sounds so easy to just get a new manager in but every time we've done it since going down was after the season started and the new manager floundering about struggling to get their ideas onto the players and a mass of January signings. If Neilson was going to go it should have been at the end of last season.
The league season begins next Saturday and imo nothing will change manager-wise between now and the transfer window closing unless we lose all 4 of our first games.
People will likely not be happy about it but its going to take a REALLY bad start to this league campaign for RN to get the sack. My prediction is he'll see out the season because we'll be challenging very close to the top of the league and be well in the title race but whether we win it or not i am not sure of. Ask me after Cowdenbeath I say yes, ask me after East Fife I say no. If we go out and pump Inverness then people are right back on a positive foot again. Its a funny old game.
This season is going to be the most intense I feel. Every league win will be met with over the top optimism by some and every defeat will see others calling for Neilson's head.
Im going to try and stay some place in the middle but it wont be easy. We have the squad to romp this league, but they need to be utilised and I dont see it right now.
We cant rely on Shankland's goals to get us out this league. We need his goals to be the added bonus that fires us to promotion by early April.
Also, we missed Connolly last night I feel.

Romp I'm not sure, but we have a squad capable of winning it. I'm not sure that we have a manager and backroom staff of equivalent potential....

Most fans posting in various places appear, to me, to have lost confidence in the management team. And that's the 'backroom staff' as Finn Seemann point out. If and when Robbie goes, the whole lot have to leave, as this has been one of the mistakes the club has made in the past, keeping on lads who have struggled as part of a failing unit.
I wonder if the players have also lost confidence in backroom staff. Haven't been able to go to matches so far this season, but those who have attended, are the players looking like they are working for the manager, or is there any element of 'not trying'?
However, barring disastrous results in the early league stages, I can't see a management change taking place.

Hoping this will be the wake up call that some of the management team need to review structure and tactics and maybe we will see a different team for the first league match.
but not convinced we will, we seem to have a recent history of manager who had absolute belief in the way they wanted to play, with players they had selected and when it is clearly not working they are too stubborn to admit it needed tweaking
