I feel he’ll break down 5/6 weeks into any full time season

Top class player in this league if fit.

I don’t know. I’d say the longer a run he gets in team the better he’ll be.
We rushed him back far too quickly and it showed, if he can get his confidence and fitness back, and get over the obvious fear of re-injury he was playing with, he’ll be a very good signing for The Fun.

I don’t get that at all.
2 ACL’s by 24 and a lot of games on plastic coming up.
Why would we release him if he thought all he needed was a real pre season?

2 bad knee injuries in his career already, his Dad and uncle had the same and he's not been 100% fit in along time. Selling cars on the side. He's done IMO.

Crying shame...being forced to train with the Dees.
Seriously agree that he looks done. For his sake I hope not, but it does kind of look that way. A fit Fyvie wouldn't be playing in this league.

Is he honestly selling cars?

Nobody honestly sells cars. He'll be no different.

Haha. Good point.

Rumours abound today that we are close to signing Lawrence Shankland and Sam Nicholson.

Any substance to the rumours do you reckon Tek? Would be good signings imo.

Two very good signings and ones I would be very happy with.
However I remain cautious about getting to excited until they are unveiled as I thought Shankland was meant to be Sunderland bound and would Colorado be willing to let Nicholson leave during their season.
I hope they do happen though.

Cheers, would be great to have a prolific striker signed up, let's hope there's some truth in it.

Would love to see both but for the life of me canna figure out why Shankland would choose us. Nicholson makes sense maybe home-sick and worked with Robbie before but Shankland seems to good to be true.

Also murmurings of at least one trialist (but more likely two) joining us for training this week.

He's played against us enough to notice how much a player like him is needed to nearly complete our squad and be a starter over going down south and being a subby.
Could be a hero at Tannadice.
I'd love this to happen but can't see us having the funds to compete with other wage offers.

I was told that we had offered a 3 year deal & he wants just 2. Pinch of salt as always, was also told we were signing Cerny & Nicholson.
I’d happily have all 3.
Chuck in Conway & we have 108 points easy

Had heard couple weeks back we had spoken with Shankland but looks like Sunderland can come up with a better deal.
Deal for the lad Nicholson keeps coming up but as i said the other week he has been playing for the team hes with in America so would either be a fee or end of the season for them.

I heard the same thing on Friday.

The transfer fee involved with Shankland initially made me dubious we could sign him.
But the Ogren's have made no secret that they want to not just bring us success, but also make themselves money into the bargain.
They may see an opportunity to make a good profit on Shankland in a year or two if he rattles in more goals again.
Strikers who score goals consistently are a valuable commodity in football.

Shankland would be free though?

I thought he was still under contract for a year, for some reason.
If he's available for free, that's even better.
