Our result today along with Ross County result hands them the title and ends our hopes of going up automatically. I really cant see us going up via the play offs either.
Very disappointed

Honestly I'd be astonished if we managed to stay ahead of Dunfermline.
We'll probably fail to make the Pl v Championship play-off game but at least that'll save us getting pumped by the fun.
Looking forward to the short trips to Gayfield next season.

To be fair this has been coming. But lets be honest we havnt looked like a team for some time. Flashes, yes, since the new players arrived, but no blend, no pattern, no creativity and very little goal threat.
I never gave up hope that we could win the league but after today's results I have to.
Now we have to see if this manager can get a tune out of these players through to the play offs but it's lookng a lot like deja vu. Again. Gutted.

The only positive of watching this shite.....Gayfield is a great day out , at least we can go on the lash instead of watching these losers!

Bitterly disappointed that in our 3 seasons in this league we have never mounted a decent title challenge, if at all.
Don't see us going up via the playoffs.

Pathetic performance, matched only by the pathetic excuses afterwards. Neilson wont be here in June.

So what are Ross County doing right, which aren't?
Is it as simple as, they have a group of players for whom playing for jersey means something?

Mark Reynolds is 5 inches taller than Scott McDonald.

I think they play to their strengths - hard, full on and attacking but will batter you if needed.
Also they play two up front and with limited players thats what we should be playing.
Thistles first goal was a peach keeper needed to come out and wasnt defence fault. I am actually ok that we went for it at end. We should do that from the start. I think we would start to win a lot more games.
A peach? From their point of view yes. From ours it was shocking defending.
I'm not happy they went at it at the end. Was too little too late. Should be on the front foot from the start. Manager needs to buck up his ideas pronto or he's gone!

10" taller and it would have made no difference, McDonald stoops to score with his head. He'd nipped in between Reynolds & Robson as he might, it was a goal as soon as it left Cardle's boot. If our goalie had gone for it there would have been a fearful collision.

Guys, Cardle (32) crossed it: look at the height in the air. Our central two are just watching, the cross took an age to arrive. McDonald stooping makes it worse! Reynolds should have got his head on that, but he was immobile.
Robson attempted to get there, having to leave Storey unmarked, as the two centre halves weren't switched on. They should know the keeper doesn't leave his line competently, albeit he should have in this case.
Benny Boy would have wiped out the wee man wi the mic and possibly himself too had he gone for that ball.

That is what he should have done though.

SmedDUm, sometimes I don't understand what you are saying (wi the mic?)
But are you suggesting the keeper doesn't get involved in his responsibilities in case he hurts himself?

McDonald's a pundit now on the new BBC Scottish channel.

Keep up Founder!
No. But there are times. That was a potential head-on collision. That Japanese goalie might have gone for the ball tho!
And you guys who criticise our goalies, have you seen some of the stuff down south where keepers earn a weekly wage the size of the entire Dundee United staff?

The first came from the typically pathetic ball in from mcmullan, is inability to pick out a good final pass or even a half decent ball in the box will forever make him a absolutely pointless player for us

Sorry smedDUm, for failing to understand your style. I reckon you and shedboy might be on a similar wavelength, for at times I'm lost with his posts too.

Keeper should’ve been out and clattering all in the vicinity for that first one. Would’ve messed up his hair though.

Any need to slate two posters in one post?
Hardly slating anyone: could be self-criticism since I don't get what the pair of you write at times. Nonetheless, sorry if you didn't understand my intentions, and since I'm the only one who appears perplexed by some posts, the fault is possibly mine.

I agree that if we keep up the current performance level we'll be lucky to get to the play-off final. McCall was behind me on Saturday - I think he'll have been delighted with our performance.

Well after Ross County beating Falkirk this evening 2-1 they move 11 points clear of us on the same amount of games.
Incredible that a team of Ross County's size are that far ahead of us in a league with so much shite in it.
I actually fear the worst for the remainder of the season.
We need Ross County to beat Inverness in the highland derby on friday night.

Gutted we won’t be champions. Tonight has sealed it for Ross Co
Expect we will still get second. Time now to get team, formation and performance levels high for the play offs in May

Apart from pre-season, and a slight boost of optimism a couple of times during the season, misplaced as ever, did any of us ever feel confident that we would finish top of the pile (of shite)?
To be honest, I thought ICT would walk it this season, but changed horses to their rival Inuits when they pumped us 5-1.

i said as end of last season the clown had tae go, thir was nae way we were winning the league with him in charge. MM to blame for that een!
