That's the 3rd big televised match we've played under Neilson now (Ayr home,Ayr away and ICT at home).
We haven't looked 'up for it' in either match and have been played off the park and deservedly beaten in each one.
Worrying.

Worrying right enough, but what is even more worrying is our lack of goal scoring threat from open play, inability to figure out how to cut teams open, funnily enough we seem to be even less of an attacking threat since Lee McCulloch was brought in. Didn't look up for it today, in fact if we did manage to progress to a semi place today i would of been embarresed.

Sure they were under a but of pressure to win, being the favourites and all that. Were they put under pressure by the Manager or the Chairman. Dinna ken, but is it.that they canna handle pressure? Phucked if I ken.

This hasn't just happened under Nielsen.

We were pish today, that’s all. Unfortunately we’re pish far too often, there’s no way we can win this league, just not good enough.

You need to achieve consistency to win anything. United haven't achieved that for at least three seasons. The problem is, the longer this goes on, the harder it is to attract supporters and talented players.

We've been shitting it since the days Jim McLean picked the wrong players in cup finals, it's a way of life if you're a Dundee United fan.
Offline
We've also won a lot of big games.

A few days ago was a big game.
As is Saturday.

By 'big games' I don't mean games in front of a flat 4k crowd on a Tuesday night (important 3 points as they were).
I mean games that are..televised, have a larger than normal Utd support, where we have an expectant and vocal support and where the importance of the match is acknowledged in Scottish footballing circles etc etc.
We seem to freeze in these type of games and get bossed completely.
A potential Play-Off Final (if we even get there) against Dundee, gives me the absolute FEAR for this very reason, not because they are any great shakes themselves (which they clearly aren't).
Offline
We won't get that far. Ayr will beat us in the semi.
On the tv. In front of a big crowd. Again.
Play like that for the remaining 10 games and you can forget the play-offs.

Cant disagree with any of that mate

I'm happy to think we have just hit a bit of a post-signing splurge dip. Neilson really has to get a performance out of these guys on Saturday.
It's really depressing that my thoughts on the game were, I hope we don't go up with that team as we'll get ripped apart in the Prem.

See since the Play-Off win at Falkirk (the Paul Dixon header), we have featured in TWELVE televised matches.
And won NONE of them. Shocking stat.

But, yeh he's going through all the same stuff as us big Arabs and is influenced by what he hears too in the stands so I'm relieved he is keen as fk to just go and support again.

Never realised our telly record was so bad, however, it's just a coincidence is it not?
Only an opinion mind, but Sunday's 90 minutes reflects large periods of other matches we've played in recently, there haven't been any games where we've consistently done well. 45 minutes v Morton, 50 minutes at Paisley, not great at QoS or Grangemouth, good for 20 against ICT..................... er, that's it.

Ayr are shite.
Chance they won’t even be in the top 4

Afraid its got that horrible feeling again but might even be dunfermline or ict. A semi against ICT they would treat us like rag dolls
Hopefully Butcher playing would make a difference. Sunday was the first time they’ve beat us this season. People are acting like they have the hex over us.
They’ve also only lost 6 times this season.
Same as us.
Yet they’re ‘hard to beat’

No shite bud confidence has taken a knock after playing without Shankland. Now they ken pressure.
Time for other teams to feel pressure and bottle it. County without MacKay and a lead to blow will be feeling it too.
We are written off as likely title winners now by opposition and a fair section of our own support.
Every team in our league has a chance of fucking eachothers season in different ways.
Fuck knows how things will pan out but there will be a few surprises and a few twists of form and luck.

Its hard to accept that is a record of games played by Dundee United FC. But there it is in depressing black and white. Unreal.

Scandalous that they’re 3 behind us, having took 9 off us.
They’ve won 2 games of football since 30/11.
They’re shite

Bit harsh.
Their form (undoubtedly) nosedived when Shankland got injured. But now he's back i think they will be a hard nut to crack again.
FWIW i thought (when they beat us 0-5) that they were the best team we've faced this season. They were superb that night.
