I'd start Sow and Pav up front. Sow was absolutely horrific when he came on but I think he would benefit from starting a game instead of coming on in awkward situations. Clark back in on Sunday though.

He came on when we were winning, what's awkward about that? Unless we are starting with a two goal advantage tomorrow night then I'm not sure how it will be less awkward for him

I think Smeddum is very confused most of the time tbh.

Confused about the abject negativity of supporters.

I was speaking to Alan Combe* and he said Laidlaw is very highly rated and has performed well for Hibs standing-in when required including European experience.

* No I wasn't but I can make up drivel too if I try. You ask fans (if indeed you do) of a team a player has left for elsewhere and you're liable to get the default appraisal, 'he's shite'.

You’re right Smeddum, I just made the whole thing up for the sole purpose of being “negative” on here.  I don’t even know any Raith supporters, never mind ones who have offered me their opinions on ex-players of theirs.  You’ve caught me out.

Say hi to Alan next time you see him from me.

Going to need that every game from here on in really.

Inverness are no mugs and hard to play against.
3 points. Clean sheet.
It's all we can do.
And at the very least gives us a better chance of second.
Next please

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

Did not leave Tannadice worried or thinking it was brutal .  Created 2 or 3 clear chances in first 20mins ICTs arial bombardment got the GF panickers excited.
Pawlett off changed the last 20m.  But solid defending after that Reynolds MOM

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

Not taking our chances again
Thought we played some good stuff at timew especially a period in first half. We blww hot and cold  all game and got the 3 points in the end. A cracking save by Siegrist at the end.

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

We should have been 3 up after 20 minutes. McMullan great in that spell then reverted back to horrendous.

Felt a bit for Pawlett. Fouled constantly including some heavy ones, yet he gets sent off. Unreal.

Too much commotion

not ICT nor poor refs.  Weeks have seen a dip in our form.  Now Pawlett out and he has been our best player for a month.  Realism setting in.  We still are not very good

Whit?

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

For me this was a disappointing performance against a poor ICT side.

Looking on the bright side we'd have collapsed after the sending off a few months ago.

But if we're going to have any chance of winning  the league we need to start scoring 2/3 goals per game and personnel and formation wise I'm struggling to see this happening.

Deserved to be sent off. 2 definite bookings. Nae need for it.

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

Pawlett, idiot

Wasn’t a disappointing performance at all, disagree massively, and to say Inverness are a poor side I don’t agree with also

Mcmullan start brilliant then fell out the game, his final pass or cross is diabolical but is very good with the ball at his feet if he managed to work on that final bit of play he’d be excellent

I’ve been so critical of Jamie robson but tonight he was MOM for me, so solid at the back and going forward he’s improved, Connolly and Reynolds were immense, and seaman put in his natural excellent performance

Thought Clark and safranko were poor by there standards though, link up play at times was poor

Massive game Sunday would go same team with the exception of Cammy smith coming back in for mcmullan

I thought Pawlett looked slow and off the pace and the second tackle was was symptomatic of a struggling player...woefully late...a tired/desperate effort.

Will Pawlett miss just the next league match then (Partick away) ?

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

I'm thinking Pawlett doesn't look fit, thought he struggled on Saturday with his decision making and distribution, the same tonight. Deserved to get sent off, but he did have a few poor refereeing decisions which didn't go his way.

Generally United seemed to overplay it, especially in midfield where, after the first 10-15 minutes, ICT got the better of our attempted intricacy. We should mix it up, and go more direct at times.

Ultimately a good win against a team which we could end up playing eight times this season. For a few weeks I've thought second is where we'll finish, tonight cements that opinion.

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

Charlie Seaman continues to impress and might even get better. Robson deserves his place in the team I think.  Need to keep Connolly and Reynolds fit and together.

Happy enough with Clark and Safranko but have a feeling Sow will be the hero soon as he can hit the net with accuracy hard and fast fae around the 18 yard line. We loose the oportunity to actually have a crack at goal with the extra passes too much. Can't wait to see the confidence in attack grow from being dangerous from further out.

Support with get a huge boost to feel back vocally to the team if and hopefully when it happens.

I believe that was a massive win and we deserved it.

Thank fuck Siegrist saved that deflected top spin dipper fae Coll Donaldson.

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

Bottom line,

3 Points

Clean sheet

Might no' be pretty and exciting all the time, but that'll do for me 'til the end of the season.

I don't know a lot, but I know what I like!

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

That really was a huge win tonight. If we failed to take the 3 points tonight I think we could have put to bed any notion of us winning the Championship title (what with County winning again).

But we've managed to stay within 5 points of them and still have to play them twice.

They've also now probably lost their top scorer (Billy McKay) for the remainder of the season.

This ain't over.

Feel the same. Hoping for mair freakish bad luck for rivals after so much in the other direction consistantly for too long.

Not just our injury issues but other teams having rare over performing talisman players that make them freakily successful. Some sold being loaned back etc. Some who we had that were outstanding for the majority of their career flopping at us etc.

We are due a twist of wierd luck, a team that clicks and a hero or 2 that the support can celebrate in numbers and noise.

Re: DUFC versus ICT - Tuesday 26th Feb (7.45pm)

This is an ICT team that rarely lose games. Lost less games than Ayr this season if i remember right. Ross county couldnt beat ICT over 180 mins last week and we are moaning that we only beat them 1-0? Yes not the most fluid performance but that was down to their awful delaying tactics that were in place from minute 1. Back 5 were all excellent tonight. A few bits of better decision making and we are 2/3 up after 15 mins. Canna believe people want to come on here and moan after such a massive win. All i thought was i canna wait to get back here on Sunday.

Rush of blood from Pawlett but Coll D did rap his ankles with a cynical one just moments before. Still.. need to rise above that!
