It's funny that cos the players of Livi, Hamilton and Killie all liked them.

Is there any grounds in England got them?

dont think they were asked and deep down I wonder if they do.  mind you i suppose if you play and train on it all the time maybe the body adjusts - but then thats unfair advantage.  Concrete is weather proof too lol

Surprised no ones tried a blaes pitch. Now that was bad. Picking bits oh it oot yer knees after a game. 😫

Siegrist
Seaman
Bouhenna
Frans
Robson
Pawlett
Harkes
Gomis
McMullan
Clark
Safranko

No Connolly or Reynolds today. Bouhenna and Frans up against Dykes and Dobbie gives me the fear.

Surprised to see McMullan in for Smith. Thought we’d seen the back of him now we have new attackers in.

Re: QotS v's Dundee United - Saturday 16th February (3pm)

No Reynolds or Connolly at all and Smith on the bench.

Tough trip just got tougher.

Re: QotS v's Dundee United - Saturday 16th February (3pm)

I suspected Reynoulds might not play.

But no Connolly is a double blow.

Fyvie nowhere to be seen at all.

And not too bothered about Cammy Smith not starting wide but would have preffered Nesbit to McMullan.

So neither will feature next week either presumably?

I find it all a bit daft tbh. Sure the pitches ain't ideal but they aren't that dangerous either imo.

If they were Killie, Accies, Livi, Falkirk, Queens and Alloa players would be dropping like flies.

They aint.

I wonder if certain plastic pitches are different? Connolly being out was dissapointing as well.  Fyvie i get and maybe Reynolds but the latter trains on plastic.  Shit if its the same next week.

I'm thinking Connolly was probably just injured.

Can't imagine we would need to keep him off plastic. He played for Killie and has played about 150 games in England since then too.

Re: QotS v's Dundee United - Saturday 16th February (3pm)

Anyway.

Good result in the grand scheme of things. Queens have hammered both our title rivals in Dumfries yet we have now amassed 6 points down there this season. Not bad at all.

Albeit our 2nd half form is a concern as we seem to only play well for first 45.

Don't think we'll get away with that next week.

Re: QotS v's Dundee United - Saturday 16th February (3pm)

A huge win down at Dumfries. Glad we managed the 3 points. Albeit didnt seem to be pretty but its 3 points and its games like that today that we need to keep making count.

Do we know what is up with Connolly?

Thought we missed Reynolds today............... anybody?

shedboy?

shedboy?

Just being mischievous.

It would have been daft for the lad to have played on that, given he is seeking a contract somewhere in a few months.

Good result given the shock at the line up prior to the game.

Pretty sure neither will play next week.

Thing is with the pitches if medical advice is given to a player that playing on that type of surface risks further injury then the club can’t force them to play I would imagine.  I also wonder if there’s insurance issues with boys playing on it against medical advice.

Re: QotS v's Dundee United - Saturday 16th February (3pm)

Good news is, next week will be our last time playing on plastic this season. Unless we come up against Hamilton or one of the plastic diddies from our league in the playoffs, we should have Reynolds and Fyvie available from next week onwards.

Have to admit, I was a bit worried the pairing of Reynolds and Connolly was back to the old pairing after doing so well.

Looks like circumstamces allowed the competitive squad idea to work. I feel we can rotate the squad, especially the midfied much better than in the past and with a matchfit Sow the strikers too.

Better equipped to deal with injuries and good that more than just training is creating a competitive edge.

Glad to see the back of plastic pitches being an issue to deal with for a while then too JD.

Re: QotS v's Dundee United - Saturday 16th February (3pm)

Thank goodness for that as I can not stand plastic pitches, I can understand the financial benefits for lower league sides renting them out for community use such as 5 or 6 aside games and leagues.

Livingston could be in danger of heading for a relegation playoff spot if they continue their poor form. Yet another premiership side with a plastic pitch.

another thing that  is good to see/hear is that partnership of Safranko and Clark they seem to be doing well together.

Re: QotS v's Dundee United - Saturday 16th February (3pm)

Just watched highlights. Shaf & McMullan unlucky not to score. McMullan almost did a replica of his goal in the Wee derby demolition and was chasing back fast to block.

We survived an Andrew Dallas ref game and got a pen for us and a red for them. His dodgy bits didn't hurt us in the end.

CB players recently ditched did the job and the goalie got a clean sheet.

Plastic pitch win and at a place they pumped and beat promotion rivals. Only Morton won there previously?

Big win.

Was lookin forward to seeing Harkes fight as the beeb put it where he got aff with a yelly. Can anyone who was there tell us mair about that?

The QoS report states neither player (Harkes and Low, although they mistakenly think it was Seaman involved ) could have argued if the card shown was red. I was a wee bit put out a card was shown to Harkes at all. But you have to mind drink is involved in this assessment.

Low appeared wound up in the five minutes prior to the 'flashpoint' and a better referee would have had a quiet word. Seaman had been in a tangle in that five minutes, and Low raised his hands (which some expert pundits state justifies a sending off) in that incident. Low also had a wee ankle tap at another United player then, with Harkes following a challenge, seemed to lose it, and pushed his hands into IH's face. For me, Harkes did nothing wrong apart from commit a basic foul, but the outcome for many referees is often to book both players.

As I said, drink was involved in this judgement, but maybe Andrew Dallas shouldn't have been drinking before the game.

I seem to recall that the minimum instructions for dealing with an incident like that is for a minimum of one yellow card for each team for the individual identified as being involved initially .  I assume that this is still the case.
