Re: people already questioning is RN job safe

I think fans are entitled to question some of his decisions.

Also think he won't have a job here unless the club is promoted this season.

Absolutely THIS.

Fwiw i haven't read anyone call for his head or whatever.

I think if he doesn't get us up his job may be in jeopardy. I suppose it depends on if we think we see progress hinting towards next season,in regards to it being better or not.

Re: people already questioning is RN job safe

He isn't moving from the 4-2-3-1 even though we don't score many and we don't keep many clean sheets whilst playing that formation, this alone deserves criticism, much the same as buying two players plus the inevitable Pawlett arrival who all play in the same position also deserves criticism IMO.

Having said that I'll give him until the end of February to get it right.

Re: people already questioning is RN job safe

So if he doesnt get us up his job is in jeapordy? Building a squad in the January window is a fucking mugs game. I'm sorry, criticize him all you want but he deserves the fucking summer to properly sort this out.

FWIW, I strongly doubt we go up this year.  Jury still out on the ownership and more so on this "revolution sports" thing.

Read that today on another forum. Not an OP that I would have put up as it's just inviting arguments between the support and at this time it's important we stick together behind the manager and players and see where we end up in April.

The new owners are very ambitious for the club and are ploughing a lot of money in. As we all know January is difficult to reshape a whole team, and right now I'd say our chances of going up are maybe no better than 50/50. If we dont make it there's no knowing how the owners would react. They might give him the summer they might not.

But with his own additions in the January window we need to see performances improving. Ogren might watch Friday night back and ask himself is this the standard of football this coach brings? It's as harsh as that.

Yeah well our new striker coach starts tomorrow so hopefully we'll start scoring more. I hope he's going to coach the defence as well.

Re: people already questioning is RN job safe

His job is safe for now you'd think, and I'm not calling for his head.

But beside the signing of players who generally play the same position and sticking to the formula of one up front and slow build up, I feel Robbie is causing his own difficulties playing Bouhenna and Frans as his centre backs. Maybe he will bring someone in, but if we are stuck with the same defenders, I'd be putting Watson back in there for Bouhenna.

And I'm in a minority I'm sure, but feel Robson is no worse than Booth.

Pawlett and Nesbitt are both wingers, Smith likes to play in the middle of the three. I thought people had been screaming for wide players or have I got that wrong?

Are you sure they are out and out wingers? Smith played for St Mirren out wide too on several occasions. McMullan's maybe a winger sometimes.

I'm simply thinking they are all a wee bit samey, they have played as attacking midfielders or even secondary strikers at times at different clubs, they all have similar stature (although maybe Pawlett looks a bit more bulky). Plus we've got Stanton who all the managers have tried out wide, and obviously King and Aird.

Oh aye, I'm wanting wide players, proper wide players who can show pace, beat a player and cross a ball. We've none of these.

Might as well coach the wingers while he is at it.

Re: people already questioning is RN job safe

I think he’ll be long gone by this time next year. New owners won’t put up with the current pish being served up. Like in another thread it’s deja vu all over again. Powder puff football with a load of midgets who all seem to be number tens. Midfielders who are scared to put the foot in, full backs who can’t stop a cross coming in and an unconvincing keeper. Basically the exact same problems as two managers ago. Fingers crossed it’ll get turned around and Robbie can figure it out but after seeing that showing against Ayr I’m growing more and more doubtful.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

Re: people already questioning is RN job safe

I think it’s premature to be questioning the managers position. He shoulders his fair share of the blame for last Friday night, no doubt.

Let’s please not forget the dross he’s been left with, most with 18 months left on their deals, making it hard to move them on & thus maybe harder to get top targets in (we don’t know how high the new additions were on the wish list)

He may well pay with his job in 4 months time and we’ll be back to square one. Keep the faith, we can still get promoted but the room for error now is minuscule granted.

Has he ever played on the wing? If so, then I agree.

In that case we need to prioritise and we need to sort out the defence first.

Re: people already questioning is RN job safe

With ICT closing quickly and QoS playing us down there soon we could conceivably be 5th welcoming March. Is one allowed to question the negative tactics sticking with players unfit and/or out of form and general poor management then???

All be it pissing with another's cock so far.

Must win yet again.on.Saturday.....

Re: people already questioning is RN job safe

RN's job safe for another week.

O/T. Looking at the league table the top 3 & the bottom 2 all won y'day.
If you think it's tight at the top have a look at the bottom.
Who's gonna go down?? Surely not Thistle, Falkirk or Pars?
Could Alloa's decent first two-thirds of the season peter out? Even if they do who's gonna be 9th for the play-off?
ICT's loss y'day was only their 4th defeat, same as Ross Co. Ayr are on 5 defeats, we're on 6. And had ICT won 6 of their 12 drawn games they would have been joint top on 45 points.
