Gomis different type of player entirely maybe to set Stanton further forward but then that begs the question where Smith would fit in?

No sure about this so feel free to shoot me down

Gomis, sits in front of back 4, role is to protect, break up play, pick up loose balls and feed Stanton Smith and Fyvie?

         Goalie tbc
  Back 4 of some sorts
         Gomis
C Smith Fyvie Stanton
     Nesbitt Safranko

Re: January transfer window

BBC reporting that we made a bid (derisory) for Liam Smith at the start of the week.

Robbie managed him at the Hertz.

Re: January transfer window

Players head maybe turned by the interest and he says he wants to go, we go back with an increased offer and it happens, well it seems to work on us so why not try it for us for once

Re: January transfer window

Said in the summer we should’ve went for Smith, he was a very obvious signing at the time. A key part of the St. Mirren team that got promoted, in the Championship Team of the Year and Hearts let him walk away for nothing.

Could and may still get him this summer, but we need a RB now.

Re: January transfer window

Too right. A solid right back. Also available in the summer so hopefully we can maybe get a decent Loan signing in between now and then and sign him on a pre-contract. Would definitely be an upgrade on anything we've had at RB since we went down.

Re: January transfer window

I notice that Alim Ozturk, who was Neilson’s captain at Hearts, isn’t getting a look in at Sunderland. Wonder if we might end up going for him to shore up the backline.

Re: January transfer window

Gomis has signed. Just asked him. Spotted him going in when I was passing the ground. Asked him when he came out. He said he’s signed, loves it here and very happy to be back.

Re: January transfer window

So far so good (assuming Smith confirmed) -   would still like to see a RB a CH a fast winger and another striker.

Doubt we'll get that many more in unless we shift some out though.

Smith has signed the pre contract I heard
Which would tie in with that fuckhole McCall’s statement on ayr’s homepage

Good news about other smith as well

Re: January transfer window

Hoping that we have some clubs in the wings looking to take the likes of Loemba, Barton and Rabitsch off our hands. Massively important that we get as many of the players who were given two year deals by Csaba off the books. Players like Edge, King, Murdoch will all be gone at the end of the season anyway and I'm fine with these guys being our backup for the rest of the season. Still hope we can get hold of  decent RB.

Re: January transfer window

See how we've got Cammy Smith, Matty Smith and maybe Liam Smith (pre contract), do you think we'll go for Morrissey now?
