Dundee Utd v QOTS 03/11/18

must win match at home to queen of the south this week. We managed a win against them under Laszlo earlier this season down Dumfries and we appear to be alot stronger now than then.

Keep the team the same?

I think we will and should.

We have a really good record down in Dumfries but strangely have a poor record against them at Tannadice.

Since we went down we have played them 4 times in Dundee and won only once.

Utd 1 QotS 1
Utd 3 QotS 3
Utd 2 QotS 1
Utd 2 QotS 3

Funny old game.

Absolutely.

Ayr's win tonight has put them back on top and 7 points ahead of us. I know folk say they will hit a bad patch but that's us into November this weekend and they are still playing well and scoring goals (top scorers in the Championship and won the most games).

Though on the plus side County,ICT and QotS have gained no real advantage/ground over us tonight.

Nonetheless, we simply must improve our home form, starting Saturday.

Agree TEK, Im thinking/hoping Ayr will lose Shankland come january and that will derail them. However we cannot count on that happening as it may not. We need to concentrate on picking up as many wins as possible and hope others around can slip up just like this evening.
Our next 2 games will tell alot.

Must home win for us.  Come January, if Ayr are still up there, Shankland should be our number one target.  We need to start acting like the big boys in the league.

Shankland may have 30 goals by Christmas.
To suggest that UTD will be in for a player who could be worth at least 500,000 shows a complete lack of perspective on your part.

Not at all.  If someone out of this league picks him up then that would also be fine if we couldn't afford him as you say.  If nobody picks him up then we should be trying to do so even just to unsettle him (i.e. like Celtic and Rangers do to others in the big league).  Point is to ensure that Ayr don't have him.

Highland Derby this weekend.

Time to start making moves. 7 off the top, 6 off 2nd.

It’s almost vital we get 3 points on Saturday. 3-1.

Re: Dundee Utd v QOTS 03/11/18

After picking up 12 points out of 36 in the first quarter there was always going to be a lot of catching up to do.
But now that it is seen as possible it's not just the next two games that are crucial but each & every one of the 23 games after that as well. It's going to be some journey thro to the first week in May. Still with the odd bump along the way, it's fitba'.

Re: Dundee Utd v QOTS 03/11/18

For the first time in years I'm confident of a home win and at 10/11 in most betting shops, I will be backing us to win.

Anyone else bet us last week at 2/1?

Re: Dundee Utd v QOTS 03/11/18

Same team for me and it goes without saying that the lads at the back need to keep their eye on Dobbie.

Solid enough last week but we do need to tighten up at the back, especially at set pieces where it was a bit pin ball at times.

Right into them from the first whistle and don't stop until the last, 4-1 United with Safranko bagging a brace.
