Lacklustre from the players, emphasising the opinion that the group we have assembled are nowhere near good enough to put in a challenge at the top of the second tier.
I doubt a new manager can make a quick difference, and the situation we find ourselves in is down to the board.
Now I'm thinking the board, for whatever reason, may be attempting to lower our expectations. For they can't be as inept as they appear, can they?
So the excuse is incompetence, or is the board trying to adapt the supporters' perspective so we are more receptive to such as a merger, or ground sharing.
I'm going for inept.

I’ve felt for quite some time now that it isn’t incompetence.

So now we are left grovelling at the feet of Ayr United. Fkn Ayr United!! How humiliating is that for our once proud club? I just want to walk away and forget all about Dundee United. But how the fuck can I when I have devoted many decades of my life to the club? I have sold Taypools, 50-50s, programmes, been a steward, even had a shot on the tannoy, spent a fortune following the team, enjoyed the company of the great players of the McLean era, and with the great man himself. How can I just fuck off from all that like it never happened? The bastards responsible for dragging the club to this level have a lot to answer for, and I can only hope their come-uppance happens soon. Am I bitter? You'd better fkn believe it!!
Don't blame you mate. Very fucking sad times. Players are fucking imposters

And one man who has been part of the downfall is now the chairman of this club.
Ayr outclassed us today. We were better but we are poor. Martin has created stage 3 of our downfall. Keeping Laszlo on in summer and giving him free reign to sign dross on 2 and 3 year contracts.
I dont think we will reshape in January either.
Its all the fault of Martin now imo.

agree with incompetence but yes i think they are this inept. But then i think of blackpool, charlton etc and the deliberate grinding down of a club but again that was inept not deliberate.

Doubt you will mate and neither will I. There's nae guarentees in fitba. We're no the glory hunting sort. Hope we can get through this without a mass bail out.
Need numbers through the gates in bad times mair than ever.

All depends on who invests. Fuckall between too many teams in this league. Luck too but cannae rely on that turning although maybe due.

Shite performance.
Huffed and puffed all day long and but for one (slightly fluky, deflected, i think?) shot from Loemba that hit the bar we looked like we could play all night long and not overly trouble their Goalie, never mind score.
Ayr were nothing special either but in the trio of Shankland, Moffat and Mcdaid they had 3 buzzbombs who tied our players in knots at times with their nippy movement and link-up play, they also constantly seemed to find space whereas our players could seemingly find none.
We are exactly what we are going by the table.
A mid-table Championship side. And a boring, predictable and pretty insipid one who are closer to the bottom than the top at that.
Total shite state of affairs. We will lose to Partick next week imo.
Siegrest - The sooner Mehmet is fit+available the better. This boy breeds no confidence in the defence and his kicking is at times fucking awful. Not great at crosses either. Has that terrible propensity for 'punching' the ball that some continental keepers do. Know what? He's not even a good shot stopper, well not on the evidence I've witnessed so far anyway. 5/10
Watson - Not a great game by him. But did at least try to get forward at times in the 2nd hand to lend some of his physicality and aerial presence. 6/10
Frans - Not sure about this guy at all. Looks a big, strong athletic boy but seems to have poor pace, and quite often positionally caught lacking. 5/10
Bouhenna - A couple of good blocks and interventions and looks like he has at least played the game before. Caught out of position for their goal though and another chance that McDaid missed when in acres of space 1 on 1. He might have potential but is raw. 5/10
Booth - Awful in the first half. Looks like another shite, lazy signing. 4/10
Rabitsch - Tidy enough and rarely loses the ball but here's the thing, what does he actually bring to the team? Does he drive forward? No. Does he make lung-bursting runs back to try and help his defence when they're caught on the counter? No. Does he throw himself into tackles? No.
Brings nothing to the table for me and not sure why he is a seemingly nailed-on starter week on week. 6/10
Fyvie - Short of match fitness and game passed him by for the most part. 5/10
McMullan - Tried his best but nothing came off for him 6/10
King - See McMullan 6/10
Smith - An empty shirt. As he all too often is when he gets a start. 5/10
Safranko - Neat enough player who is obviously technically quite a good player and is giving of his best. But I don't think he's the answer personally to our goal scoring problems. Not longterm anyway. 6/10
Subs -
Loemba - We brightened a bit and had a wee good 10 minutes after he came on. Had our only real chance with his shot off the woodwork. A frustrating player though. His first involvement he completely takes 2 of their players out of the game with a lovely wee dragback and feignt. He then hits his attempted cross out for a goal kick. Unbelievable really. 6/10
Clark - Looked quite a bit off of fitness - 5/10
Stanton - See Clark 5/10
Ellis - Stood with his arms folded all afternoon and I never once seen him trying to scream instructions or 'gee the players up' from the sidelines (unlike his opposite number McCall) 5/10
