The way I read it, the Architect is acting on behalf of United.

The mezzanine level will be extra hospitality capacity for match days and will be offered to Dundee when they're at home. I thought the plan was to target away fans when Dundee were at home but this way is potentially more lucrative.

Applicant is DUFC on the application so looks like it’s the club.

Be interesting to see how this works with the current facilities available and what level of hospo on offer to us punters.

I think Dundee FC would be offered the chance to hire the bar on their matchdays and then any profit they make is obviously their own (less costs for bar staff, chef/s, security).

Think that's how it'll work.

But, yes, they would essentially be handing over money to us and them making money themselves would then be subject to how many they can fill in the place on their matchday.

So maybe they would only take us up on that when the Old Firm or Aberdeen are in town. Or maybe they won't at all.

But sounds like they've possibly been sounded out already.
 

Wonder what the polis viewpoint would be on allowing a large group of opposition punters into a venue like this pre match to top up the buck fast ?

Predicted to be ready for about Jan/Feb 2019 (subject to planning permission being granted, of course).

Mike Martin saying in his interview today that it will be open to AWAY fans on Dundee F.C. matchdays.

Aggregate the take from various local hostelries and club 83 (none of whom, as you say will be affy pleased) and I'd think you'd make a few bob If the capacities big enough - bear in mind your only having to employ people once every couple of weeks for 8 hours or so....

Can we expect the same high standard of service as the in stadium catering facilities who also employ people to turn out for a few hours a fortnight?

Got a feeling that this may not change most supporters match day experience,

Going to take a long time to recoup the investment on the premises as well so very unlikely to be a gold mine for the club.

Very risky gamble imo, wondering where the club is finding the money to invest in the facility?

As long as the facilites are good and they price the drink in line or cheaper than other close to stadium pubs it should work.

Personally ken nae Arabs under 70 who drink 2 pints before and in the vacinity after.

Being so close to the ground is a massive advantage in attracting custome.

In the past some Arabs have even lined the pockets of Marrs pubs due to proximity!

I believe this is Jim Fyffes idea.

I get why he's looking at increasing revenue streams but imo the clubs gotta be careful they dont saturate the place with hospo.

Oh and they wouldnt be using his business to supply beer and spirits would they 🤔

Anyway, good idea hope the fans use it. But where will the money be going? Will a % of it be going to the club? I shall use it when its open.
