The offer of 500 000 grand was accepted for our football club! Just let that sink in lads. We have paid more for second rate strikers from Ipswich.
Let's face it guys, none of this pish that we only support the 11 on the pitch and are not interested in what happens in the boardroom. I'm not a finiancial expert and don't claim to be like some and I don't know anymore than your average fan however come on to fuck guys 500 000.
To be fair, that’s only for 53% of the club. So the club is valued at just under £1m.
I hope that makes you feel a wee bit better.
Plus you’re effectively taking the debt on as well.
Unfortunately it’s not quite as simple as finding 500k and that’s job done.

ok sorry new here thought he was ITK
cc - or Chris - thats what happens to clubs and businesses when they are shite.
We are shite and thats the value.
who cares?
I'm not exactly saying 'better wi' the devil ye ken' but does it not occur to anyone that ownership change can put you deeper in the shit. Examples too numerous to mention and are everywhere. The view on here seems to be new owner = new dawn. Perhaps not.

Don’t want to tempt fate, but how could anyone possibly put us any deeper in the shit? At worst the new owners could only ever be as bad as Thompson, no?

Mike Martin, Jim fyffe and two local businessmen have bought the club

On official...Dundee United Football Club today welcomes the news that Club Chairman, Mike Martin, Board director James Fyffe and two local Dundee businessmen, both of whom are also life-long Dundee United fans, have acquired the shareholding of former Club Chairman and director Stephen Thompson.Mr Martin said: “This share transaction strengthens our current financial position and provides the solid platform required as we continue to progress long term investment opportunities.”
Got to admit my first reaction is one of suspicion - I think a wee bit more detail wanted.

So that's it, ST is finally gone. Perhaps we can finally start putting the complete and utter mind-fuck of the last four years behind us now?

Season ticket sales to increase rapidly then do you think?

Delighted he's gone. Said at the start of this thread that I thought there was more to this.
Pressure applied = Thompson finally gives it up and exits.
Cue him being in the papers for an exclusive intervview and bleating about how bad his experience has been.

I am delighted to see that Thompson’s shares have been sold at long last as it is excellent news that he is gone now. I can understand why the two local business men do not want to be named and can respect that if that's their decision.
I assume "continue to progress long term investment opportunities" means the hunt for American investment.

Interested to know if the buyers agreed to STs terms that put John Gibson off

The security on the various buildings and land at Gussie was cleared when MM brought it I think?

Then explain it to me, please, as I don't understand the need for secrecy.
They have seen how people have treated MM since he took over and tarred him with a brush because he was associated with ST.
They have seen how ST was treated when he ballsed up and started to not give a fuck.**
They don't want to se exposed to the same treatment if things don't improve immediately or even at all.
Its not rocket science.
** the way ST acted I think he deserved everything he got from the fans.
