At Easter time.
Everyone at the club should be mortified and ashamed in equal measures.
Gutted.

Just as well most of our support have gone past the mortified and ashamed stage and into the numb stage, surely this is rock bottom, and were now on an upward plain, and we can soon be mortified and ashamed again soon. Sorry half pished and still venting.

5th is where we are because thats where we deserve to be. The teams around us Dunf. Morton & Livi are relishing the upcoming playoffs whereas many of our fans have given up on this season. I dont quite get that attitude , we more than matched a play off rival on their patch today. Is it a sense of entitlement amongst some younger supporters. Although if we fail to beat Dumbarton on Tuesday i may also put my optimism back in the cupboard for next season.

If we finish 5th It’ll be the worst season In history passing last season.

It's disgusting and embarrassing, if that slavering idiot had anything about him, he'd hold his hands up and resign out of shame at the mess he's created.

It would be great if he did that, but he's made a decent career out of getting sacked. Soon as I saw the substitutions today (did Quinn come on in midfield?) I feared the worst.
He's trying to get the boot, we're trying to get him to resign,

And no sign of it getting better any time soon.

A sense of entitlement?? Fuck me! I'm not a younger fan either but Christ Almighty man have a fucking look at where we've fallen to. Fans are entitled to be pissed off to fuck with the state we are in. Tell me one thing about this squad of players or this complete fud of manager that makes you think we can compete in the playoffs

Worst in my 40 years following United, not really concerned too much with what came before that

Wow. Entitlements. Faf as fuck. Listen we can get in the playoffs but even if we get to the final dundee or whoever it is will pump us with this clown in charge.

By miles the worst in my 40+ years of following United.
By far the worst “manager” we have had also. In fact he is not a football manager. An utter Clown and complete disaster mess. Would have been miles better of keeping Ray, even if the football was brutal to watch.
And last but not least the biggest mess of a board and behind the scenes scenario we could possibly imagine.
Well done Thompson you foolish , incompetent arse. ( polite version )
Get them all away to phuk and we can build for the future.

You no doubt said so at the time TD!
(Truth is poster fans were howling for his dismissal.)
P.S. We were 10 seconds away from 3 points & 3rd place at Cappielow today in what sounds like a better performance & a very unjust loss of two points.

And quite rightly so. McKinnon didnt have a clue. He still wouldnt have got us promoted. Him and lazlo are both shite. You know that but are hanging onto some bizarre shite that we-re actually decent.

For what it’s worth I certainly didn’t think “at the time” we should have kept Ray. I was glad at that time to move on. As stated the football was brutal, signs were there how bad it could be. However what we are witnessing now is massively worse. Unbelievable in fact.
Laszlo has been a disgraceful error. Clueless and will massively damage the club and our support unless urgent action is taken. Unreal situation this.

smeddum in pop at other fans shocker.
Mckinnon had to go. He should have went before he did.
Laszlo. When we signed him I thought was a good appointment and wanted him before Ray. Sadly Its been a total fucking disgrace.
By the time the interviews start for a new manager hopefully its new men in charge doing the interviews.
You know the Manager of the Month award?
Maybe we could have our own Manager of the Month.
You don't get a trophy, you get a job!

Our younger fans are starting to vanish from to Tannadice as they can't be award watching what's on offer.
Who can blame them?

Yes we are where we deserve to be. But it's not where we should be.
Many of our fans have given up on this season because most of our players clearly have. Of those teams you mentioned Livi are exceeding expectations after being promoted, Dunfermline have turned their season round after a poor start and Morton I suspect targeted the play offs and have a great chance of making them. All of them are playing well and getting results.
We were supposed to be challenging for the title but instead we're 21 points behind St Mirren, we're 6th in the league based on goals scored and conceded and currently 9th on recent form. Playing half decent for one game doesn't hide the fact that as a whole this season we have been awful to watch, these fans you don't get aren't daft. We aren't being outplayed by better teams, we are under performing against poor sides.
Also can you clarify what this sense of entitlement is that our younger fans supposedly have?

Rick You say its not where we should be no club is entitled to be in the top league. We could quite easily be at this level for the next 10yrs. The advantage we have over most of the rivals is fanbase but many on forums like this are making it clear they are only coming if we are winning.
I can see that we are a team lacking tactics and organisation but that team to me has still looked capable of beating Dunf. and Morton in the last 2 games. As long as there is a chance giving up is not part of my make up

I don’t think our fan base is any less loyal than other teams.
Normally though the demise of a team is much more protracted and the fall off in fans isn’t as noticeable - giving talk of sleeping giants etc. Until they realise those fans are gone.
Like our demise, the attrition rate of fans has matched it in speed.
You’d see that happen with most teams I’d imagine.
We have went from top six to established championship diddies in 3 years, with no false dawns or periods of hope , just progressively getting much worse. That would drive any teams fans away.
It’s a remarkable achievement and something that still boils my blood as to how we never let those in charge know how hated they are.
I swear it- once the new regime are in charge i’ll Be starting a petition to have ‘mr Dundee uniteds’ name off that stand.
Just like his family unexpectedly took back his ‘loans’ we can take back that remarkable honour bestowed

Rename it the Pat Reilly stand. The man who started Dundee Hibernian and Dundee United. The founder of our club doesn't have a stand named after him but ET does?
I'm not questioning Eddie's love for the club but he was a very small part of our club's history and apart from Wee Jim or Jerry Kerr, I don't think there is anyone other than Pat Reilly who deserves to have a place in our club's future.
Online!
We were far too quick to rename the East Stand in the wake of Eddie’s death, it was purely a grieving son trying to honour his father, which is understandable.
Not to belittle Eddie’s contribution to United at all, because he loved the club as much as anyone, and sacrificed a lot, including his own health for the club, and he deserved to be commended for that, but naming the East Stand after him, I believe, was too big an honour to bestow. Maybe we’re just saying this, because of the self-serving actions of his offspring, but there’s no doubting he’s soured the family name in the eyes of many United supporters, and the fact that the Thompson name will hang high over Tannadice from here on out doesn’t entirely sit right with me.
The biggest crime of all, to me, is that Jim McLean’s name is merely a tack-on on an already named Stand in a far off corner of the ground that only ever houses away supporters. By all rights, it should be his name that proudly adorns the East Stand, and should have for a long time.
