A Chink of Light

I'm praying that St. Mirren's result today has galvinised some sort of hope and determination in the players.

We're going to need a run like we had before Christmas, but theoretically if we win our games in hand and beat St. Mirren at Tannadice in a couple of weeks, the gap's down to two points.

Hopefully, all the papers talking about the title race being over has caused St. Mirren to take their eye off the ball.

Re: A Chink of Light

I conceded the title after St Mirren beating Dunfy the other Friday night....but I must admit, I've got that horrible glimmer of hope again.

We absolutely MUST win our next 3 games though.  Do that It might just give St Mirren that wee bit of doubt and give us the boost we badly need.

Re: A Chink of Light

I don't think we'll even get second, based on the performances of the last seven weeks.

Livingston are the form team in the Championship over the last six matches now, a defeat for us on Friday puts us in a weak position to get second place.

Re: A Chink of Light

We 'd need at least 33 points from here to even have a chance of finishing top. This team aren't capable of that with their shit attitude and defensive inability.

Re: A Chink of Light

I can't see it happening with us, our players have just let us down far too often this season.

However the return of Scoobie to CH would be a boost and hopefully McMullen eventually gets his finger oot. We have relied too much on King as an outlet and he's clearly not up to it but with someone sharing the load it might get him back to his best.

It's the hope that kills you with this club, every season.

Re: A Chink of Light

We have 3 games in 7 days coming up.

Livi away (Friday) Qots home (Tuesday) St.Mirren home (Friday). Win all 3 and it's game on.

But we would need to win all 3.

I predict it will all be over when we fail to beat livi on Friday and St mirren thump brechin the next day. Not getting any hopes up whatsoever

Re: A Chink of Light

I'm not one to give up hope but feel ground down more than ever to having less optimism than ever.

If we got up this season it would be something special.

Feels like a good result toaday in one respect but Livy are a problem too if we don't go on a mad run.

I'll predict we win the fuckin league and surprise the fuck out of everyone. StMurrn will panic & collapse. Livy will fade form and we will rally like fuck and win the league on the last day of the season.💣💥

Re: A Chink of Light

Chink of hope will be when we win and close the gap not St Mirren having 1 bad result. Nothing from manager or team to suggest we can win league or go through via play offs

Bring back the (real) "United Way" not the kiddy-on Martin version

I think this is closer to what will actually happen. 2 seasons now in this shitty division and we still haven't sorted out the defence.

It’s the hope that kills you!!!!!!

Wish I was wrong but this current crop don’t have it in them to do it. Mentally weak

Re: A Chink of Light

My worry is that if we do get up under Csaba with the current crop of players, we are going to struggle massively to even make an attempt to try stay up.

It's embarrassing where we have sunk to.

Let's just get up and take it from there.
