That’s a somewhat patronising post.
Doubt anyone expected Stephen Naismith, I think though, it’s fair enough to say that we expected better than loaning back a mediocre player who never really set the heather alight last time lacks imagination.
Laszlo speaks of warriors and battlers but he hasn’t signed any.
This window reminds me a lot of mixu’s signings where we are not addressing obvious issues correctly.
He is getting the money but signs a lb instead of a rb, 2 young foreign players instead of experienced uk players. I think the only signing that excites or fits the bill is slater.
I may be proved wrong but think it’s out of order to be making out people have unrealistic expectations for voicing an opinion on what has been, in a lot of opinions, an underwhelming window

Disagree with you, I think he's exactly what's required and will do well IF he gets the service required.
Welcome back big man.

he has a very valid point though our priority was a right back and a midfielder who can put in a tackle and make a forward pass.

Must admit I am unsure on this one! Didn't think he was that good first time round, albeit he was in a very poor team with zero width. Hope he proves me wrong though of course! Difficult window to bring in any quality though especially with the budget we appear to working with.
What I'm hoping Csaba has done, is realise that he can't replace Fraser and Fyvie like for like so he's going to change his approach. This would explain the signings of two big front men in Lyng and Mikkelsen. What it doesn't do is explain the signing of Mason

Reckoned at time that Robson’s away or going and he got the cover there early rather than wait till last minute panic at end of transfer window.

I think the idea behind Mason is that we are covering very little (if any) of his wages. If Robson got injured we'd have to take Scobbie out of CB which is his best position. So Mason being there is just extra cover in my opinion.

It still doesn’t change the fact that RB was the more pressing need.
I think everyone is forgetting how poor murdoch actually was at the start of the season.
We can’t keep shoving cm’s into that position and think it will be ok.
I see the point about changing styles but I fear we will just end up aimlessly punting it upthe park.
Mikkelsen one about 1 in 3 headers and was constantly being penalised for fouls.
I did see flashes, I just don’t think he is suited to the Scottish game.
The reason we dominated games under that short spell was that we won the midfield battle and dictated the tempo of the game.
Since the loss of Fraser and fyvie we have no cutting edge and have resorted to mincing about with it at the back, getting to midfield then panicking and passing back 30yards.

I am happy with big Mikk coming in. Would have preferred him to stay rather than going to the Coonty. Think the big man will do a job for us .
We are at the stage here that no matter who is signed many Arabs are just no happy and slating the signings before we even give them a chance. I hope we as a support can get behind Shabba and the team, give them the great support we have been, especially the superb away support and kick on here. We can still win this effing league, a hard task, but still possible.

Lot's of transfers are planned weeks and months in advance. Mason was training with us for a wee while before he was signed
Just a guess, but maybe Mason was brought in as Robson was definitely off down south, then Limegate happened.

Still need a strong midfielder in the Fyvie mould, urgently btw .

Who's the black lad with the number 10 training kit who was in that video?
Also is number 10 not Fraser's kit?

That concerns me more tbh.
If we are in a 2 horse race why are we focusing on foreign teenagers that are highly unlikely to impact the first team. Especially considering money is tight.
In the months leading up to the window the best we could identify is an ex player with mixed opinion on his previous spell here.
We spent months addressing the lb cover but decided rb was fine?
This isn’t a drive to write off players before they came but a bitter disappointment at what appears to be Groundhog Day.
I think (hope, but mostly think) that Mikkleson will do well.
He's very much a player that wants to attack balls from wide coming into the box (e.g. his winner in the fizzy pop final) and last season we had zero width and while we're no perfect in that dept now we've still way more options than in the recent past.
Increases our chances of 'winning ugly' when we're no playing well -something Smirren have been doing that we've not.

Is there another club in Scotland who has signed more players back for second spells than we have in recent years?
I'm sure he will score goals but I thought his performances dropped off towards the end of last season.
Shows how far we have fallen when resigning a player from a Ross County team he can't even get a game for is considered good business.

Almost anonymous, but a plus point for United at set pieces in our box.
As an aside, why, at opposition corners, are all our players back defending?

Not any better or any worse than the rest of them, pitch looked horrible to play on, frozen plastic, lovely conditions.
Slater looked better and the lad that came on, Kadded, looked the part in his brief cameo.

He can play left midfield too so a wider option Maybe?

Maybe someone told Shabba that having a Mason in your side helped you get on in Scottish fitba 😳

He brought the ball down brilliantly to initiate the second goal.
