In my lifetime,Messi is the greatest.

I grew up captivated by video footage of Pele though and i find it hard to see past him,despite the fact he retired before i was even born.Perhaps just sentimentality on my part.

I also loved watching Zidane,Maradonna,Hristo Stoichkov and Georgie Hagi.

Oh and Romario,loved watching him.

Messi used to polish Luis Figo's boots, couldnae lace them though that's why Adidas brought out the multi coloured lycra slippers with studs that we all love watching them slip about in today, I mind my debut when i turned out in a black boot and a brown boot borrowed fae my auld man and still scored the winner in the penultimate fixture for the 45th BB in the treble winning season of 1986. Can't see past Maradonna, although at his peak was not really in my life time. Remember seeing him from 1990 onward, but had been hacked to bits by then. Don't think many of todays starts would have lasted as long.

In my lifetime hard to see past Messi, but did enjoy watching Zidane and Cantona.
