Tyrone from STV says the draw should be next week sometime.
For those who didn't know It's July 16th, 20th, 23rd, 27th and 30th.
8 groups of 5.
Live on BT Sport.
Surely It's a better Idea than Pre season games?

Agree Rodge.
Much better to have these type of meaningful games in July than meaningless tankings over in Holland or Germany.

ive had a better time in Germany Holland Dublin Belfast than what ill get at East Fife.

I'm sure you have mate.
But my point is the whole argument that playing and getting gubbed off of these crack sides 'teaches us something' is a bit of a fallacy imo.
Last season illustrated that perfectly. For the cost it occurs the club also I just don't think it's worth it personally.
These type of games where there is actually something at stake will give us all the test we need.
Particularly if we draw Dundee or St. Johnstone.

David southern actually said last year at a meeting that pre season would be held here as we couldnt afford to spend the money to travel to abroad to partake in a training camp and friendlies the cost is very high which i agree with is something we cannot afford unless the team/s are funding a major part of it.
a week/5 days training camp could help bond the team especially with alot of new players.

Welp. There's my 100% record gone awready. Miss every game bar one

We did a pre season camp at RM condor - some of the popstars we have in the squad could use a week of getting their arses handed to them. Old school sand dune runs too.
Then a bit of time spent in England/Ireland would be useful for team bonding.

Gutted i won't get my yearly trip to somewhere abroad.

I'm really looking forward to this, 3 saturday games and 2 wednesday games. Looking forward to grounds ive not been to before either.

I too like this format.
I think the extra point for the penalty shoot out is a decent idea also.
The club will have to play 5 games in just a few days though so the whole squad will need utilised and we must hit the ground running and win at least 3 of these games and win the group.

Maybe our games won't be 3 Saturdays and two Wednesdays if BT Sport want matches to fill their schedules, mind.
The groups are localised: wonder which big club we'll get? They'll play in blue.......

Only actually play 4 games in the group stage do you not?
The north/ south divide should give some interesting ties, we'll prob get ICT, Peterhead, Elgin and Cove right enough.
