as we re having problems at the back who do you think we should be starting with?
bearing in mind we have Morris and Dixon on the injury list that leaves us with
McGowan, Dillon, Durnan, Donaldson, Souttar, Spark
Far from the strongest defence to pick from
Said it before and after Sunday more convinced than ever that McGowan starts at centre half.
Would maybe look to the younger players at right back and give Spark a go once the Sellick game is out the way as not sure Souttar mobile enough or motivated enough.
Left back I'd stick with Dillon short term as will hopefully have Dixon back in three weeks or so.
Other CH a real problem, Donaldson looked ok to me at start of season and might work ok beside McGowan.
Durnan gives me the fear big time.
Morris would be fine but obviously injury prone - we need a new CH come January if not before.

McGowan and Dillon are the surer starters. Souttar the next best bet (hoping Mixu's starting to fix what's wrong in him), then a gamble. Durnan's confidence seems gone and season has been bad so far , no sure on Donaldson and wonder if Spark should have a chance.
Don't see training so not really qualified to guess or state a confident reply bud but that's mine anyhow.

If playing 4 at the back right now, Spittal McGowan Souttar Dillon.
Dillon to RB and Dixon in when he's fit.
Don't actually think personnel is that big a problem at the back when all fit, It's organisation and discipline to stay in shape that's been the issues, easily fixed by a half decent coaching team. Durban shouldn't be near the team tho.

I'd go with McGowan rb, Morris Ch Dillon Ch and Dixon lb but McGowan did well at ch on Sunday.

Aye, quite right, if they were all fit thats my choice. At the moment I'd go with Sundays back four but replace Durnan with Donaldson.

Know I'm gonna get flogged for this, but I would under certain circumstances have Pates at the back. Sure makes a mean tackle. Stops the game in its tracks. If he was fit of course.

See why you say that bud. Don't think most will flogg you for that thought.
Already bad for conceding pens. Fighting fae
the back to the front is a good idea though.
We need more hard but fair influences throught the team and the protection that brings to the less a aggressive youth over being a soft target.
All tactics have been easy against us for too long. We need to be far less predictably soft and easy to read. Most managers could have planned a game plan weeks ahead of playing us over the last year or so and got it pretty much spot on.

For Saturday
Souttar-McGowan-Durnan-Donaldson-Dillon
Sole instructions is to get the ball to fuck down the other end of the pitch,if it's to a man in tangerine all the better.
Let's start with the basics.
One clean sheet is all it takes to get the confidence back btw.Fitba's a simple game.

Not as mad as it sounds.
He played loads of games at right back for Partick.

Is Garry Kenneth too wild a shout?
Yeah the lad is no Maldini but cares for the club, would presumably play for a smallish wage and he's just quit skonta riga - so should be match ready. Adds a bit of size and nastiness , if nothing else
Training at montrose - deal till Jan?
