The Brad Spencer pursuit making more sense.
AzerbaijanQarabag?
Not sure on the club mate - was told it was a team in Azerbaijan

To be honest McGlynn's outburst is one of the reasons I wouldn't want him at Tannadice. He couldn't cut it at a big club and has a massive chip on his shoulder. He's suited to Falkirk.
That said, it does worry me that the club sees a solution to its problems in Brad Spencer. I understood Tait as he's got years to go, but Brad Spencer seems like the Ross Docherty gamble all over again. I can only assume that we are losing more midfielders and Spencer is seen as plugging a gap.
I'd agree that the player himself is likely to have a big say in this still. If we have approached the club with several offers but don't know whether the player is up for it then we'd be more naive than even I think we are already.
The Falkirk fans are lapping it up but in my opinion what he said revealed a total lack of class. It's no secret he hates Dundee United but all he had to say was the bids are far away from our valuation. He's been getting more and more smug these last few months and now I really hope we take the lad Spencer off them.

As i've said on another thread.
Rumour mill has Ross Graham potentially going to Salford.

Ross might well be following his Missus on where she sees her career path going. He's on thin ice at Tannadice.

Neftci Baku for Sev. Temple reporting. Sounds all but done.

Shame to see him go. Solid, dependable player who never really let us down, other than that debut at Falkirk (Think we were all wondering wtf we’d signed), but he isn’t so good that he’s irreplaceable for us. He’s been itching to get away all summer I believe. Be interesting to see what sort of fee we’ve gotten for him.
Offline

Not seen any mention of a fee, would guess maybe around the £500k mark?
Offline
Would hope it is not any less than 500k to be honest. Have really liked Sevelj and gutted he is away to be honest. I think we'll miss his versatility.
Offline

Been solid Vicko, good luck to him.

Sevelj could never be accused of not giving 100% in a UTD jersey. That iMO is his main attribute. . I’m not going to highlight his many flaws but he is very replaceable.

Be really disappointed if we are getting less than a million for Sev.
He has been extremely consistent and versatile for us. One of the first names on team sheet. And is almost never injured.
If we lose ferry and sev at the end of the window I fear we will be losing a lot of the experience and drive from the team.

Between the two of them, you’d have to think we’d be getting the best part of £3m. Surely to fuck Ogren can hand over £6-700k of that for a late flurry of signings? “The player trading model” has to work both ways. The best way of getting big fees for your players is by having a successful team on the park.

Precisely. The player trading model has worked. Credit goes to Ross Goodwin. Ogren (probably undeservingly) gets to reduce his debt by £2m. He NEEDS to make anything more than that available for transfers. Anything less will run fans against him.

All the best Vicko, great solid team man in all positions.
Snip for whoever gets him

Mad that someone is talked about as a club stalwart after just two seasons. Shows you how crazy the turnover of players in football is now.

Absolutely. Seems like the boy at Falkirk is maybe the one identified to replace Sev. Ferry’s replacement has already been signed. Hopefully we buy a striker that might be decent for a few 100k with any money that we may or may not get from Ogren.

Limited credit to Ross Goodwin. Sevelj was signed long before he joined and Ferry signed a few days after he joined.
If anyone thinks J.Goodwin will get £600k for signings unfortunately they are living in cloud cuckoo land. Incomings will go to servicing the debt to the owner, with a little bit of headroom available for extra wages for new signings.

Just looked up this team.
Nefti top of table, albeit 2 games in.
Baku awash with oil money.
Azerbaijan booming.
Flight home to Croatia v Scotland same diff.
Mad not to go.
If we got 700k for 5he Diddy Moller Ive quietly got fingers crossed behind ma back

Local paper reporting that we want at least one more midfielder in before the window closes.
This is why it's worth getting players on proper deals, a solid player and we'll recoup a fee, and whilst we might not see any/much of it, it''s another chunk of 'debt' repaid to the owner, and a step closer to what many appear want in terms of ownership.
