I’m the same. I really want this deal done. The window of opportunity is getting tighter by the day. £1.7 is a huge sum for the club (and Ogren). His value is only what someone is willing to pay for him. Ultimately he is depreciating asset. We need this done now.
Totally disagree with that.
His value is going up every time he plays. His performance on Friday night for example probably added a few bob on to whatever any interested party are willing to pay.

The club is probably a bit frustrated that they accepted the £1.7m and then he didn't go. As now clubs will know the ballpark price and be a lot more stubborn with going over and above. If the boy Penrice from Hearts can go for £2m then I'd expect Ferry to be a bit above that. Chances are slim that we'd get anything over £2m though.

The Czech deal had a fair few add ons I believe and the 1.7m isnt guaranteed- it was all paper talk - so hopefully scope to get the best deal possible

Unfortunately that is only correct if we can create a bit of competition for his signature - which I guess is possible. Otherwise, knowing that we are happy to sell the valuation will continue to drop as we get closer to the window shutting. We've played this one badly. The latest 'he's here until someone meets our valuation' will not work. So get ready for someone nabbing him under value or us stubbornly denying the player a move away that he clearly wants.

Temple saying we are "quite far down the line" with a new left back, regardless if Ferry stays or goes. They want him in so that if/when Ferry goes, replacement is already in the building.
Mentioned that Anderlecht interest still there, but they are maybe waiting on one or two departures from their squad before any bid will come in. Also mentioned a big Polish club are also interested on top of Schalke and the green lot.
Still saying Yoro this week, but touch and go for involvement against Hearts.

Looks like there’s been a bid submitted by anderlectht according to a journalist from Belgium

Record reporting that another championship club (on top of Charlton and Blackburn) ready to bid. Utd want £1.7m plus add ons.

The Courier just posted Anderlecht have tabled a 2.2 million offer.

Anderlecht about to bid £2.2m with adds on that could take it up to £3m according to Alan Temple. Blackburn also very interested so could enter the running too and have made that clear to United.

That’s more like the sort of fee we should be getting for a player like Will Ferry. If he goes to Anderlecht that’s a good move for everyone.

Heard we've accepted 2.2m rising to 2.5m - ferry very very keen

The sell on percentage is possibly just as important than the add ons.
If he does go to Anderlecht and has a couple of good seasons there he'll eventually move for surprisingly big money if he stays fit and keeps improving. .

May be that I was off the mark above, but I still don't think that game time now is going to significantly affect value. Good luck to the lad when he does go. Overall, he's been our best player last couple of seasons.

I see where you are coming from but playing well v rangers hearts and celtic could very well tip a team over the edge into making an offer or a bigger offer.

On paper looks like a good signing. His data has him as being not dissimilar to Ferry. Got his first cap recently so will be hungry for more.
I have been impressed by our recruitment this summer, we’ve been very proactive and seem to identified the profiles we wanted rather than just hang about and see what shite becomes available down south at the end of the window like the fun are doing.
I caveat that by saying I was also impressed by our recruitment this time last summer too.
Only leaves us really needing one or two more at best. I’d still like to see an experienced leader at centre half brought in, but that’s probably easier said than done. And maybe at a push, another striker, as we only have two in Rose and Metsoko. I don’t count Sapsford as he’s way more effective as an inside forward than as a number 9.
