Honestly the English really need to wind their necks in re the ability they think they have.
Do they have good players? Yes of course, they have some brilliant players but so do Argentina, France, Spain etc etc.
When you go through the starting 11s of England and Argentina and compare each player, are the English ones that much better that Argentina's? That's not even getting started on how the Argentine lads feel about playing for their country, Look at the clown they have in the goal for a start. Yet all I've heard from the English since they lost is how they lost to an inferior team and its all Tuchel's fault.
Maybe if they lose that arrogance, they might actually win a tournament one day.

England 6 France 4
The best World Cup match i've ever watched.
Wildly open and both teams attacking each other constantly with the fear of losing not a weight on eithers shoulders.
Wonderful stuff. I wish football could be more like that again.
Felt like kids having a kick about in the park and playing 'next goal wins' type stuff.

France weren’t giving a sh1t first half and no doubt got a rollicking at HT. I was watching on Fox sports and the commentator (Darren Fletcher-not the Scottish one) near had me turning it off. The absolute delusion of some in the English media is off the charts. At half time he was giving it “This is the beginning of the push to win the Euros.” Nah mate, winning what was more or less a bounce game in the first half against a team that were literally laughing as goals went in doesn’t constitute you suddenly speaking about winning the Euros. Another pearl of wisdom was when Eze tried to lob the keeper from miles out(and miss by miles)—Fletcher comes out with “That would’ve been the best goal in World Cup history consigning Maradona’s to second best” (or similar). Even at 4 up they never looked safe.

Well, that's it. Fucking glad to see the back of it to be honest.
The hype. Then more hype. More Jude Bellingham hype. The endless chat which amounts to fuck all. The 4 quarters. Some games filmed from a height resembling Google Maps. 3 days of back to back Lamal hype then he never kicked a ball in 120 minutes of the final. The endless interruptions to actual news programmes to tell us what Mary's pub in Sidcup thinks of Harry Kane's latest goal. Interviewers asking do you think it's coming home this time, when we know it's not.
The terrible pundits. The hopeless and inevitable hype about our fans, honestly I've had enough of it with the team flying home before half time and endless interviews with half pissed Scots saying how great the Tartan Army is.
Enough. Absolutely enough. It's not an International drinking contest. Let's get a team on the park instead, that would be a novelty..
Speeded up highlights that make you dizzy, Roy fucking Keane.
Sam Matterface and Lee fucking Dixon. Ally McCoist and "I'll tell you what"
Bring on Tuesday and the Spartans.

The World Cup/Euros were the two footballing competitions where you knew what you were getting, it was 2-4-6 weeks of football, loads of games on tv, no more, no less.
I get that America/Americans buy into all the razzamataz pish, but no-one wanted wrestling/boxing types on the mics, no-one wanted a countdown, no-one wanted set hydration breaks, no-one wanted lingering crowd shots of celebrities we had no clue about whilst the game was live, we didn't want a half-time show, we didn't need match conditions mitigated by closing roofs and putting air conditioning on.
So many games the hydration break was pivotal in changing momentum, in a game where one flick of the boot can decide the 90+ minutes, it's all a bunch of shite.
Expanding the format to 48 teams was never about inclusion, it was all about maximising advertising revenue, they're investigating expanding it to 64 teams for the 2030 centenary one, where 6 teams automatically have qualified, Spain are in by default as a co-host not as champions.
64 teams, fucking hell, they'll have to invent some more countries to come along and out-perform Scotland, if we even make it.

Read that link if you can be arsed. Look at all the faffing about, 11-12 day breaks because they've played 1 game on a different continent, they'll flying over, not swimming.
