Re: Montrose Vs United - Tuesday 14th July (7.45PM)

Hard to say as we don’t know what level of fitness the new guys are at.  I’d like to see either or even both of Anderson or Leiper start after their positive contributions and to send a message to whole squad that if you take your chance you’ll get another one, regardless of age.  I wasn’t impressed with either full back yesterday but I’d play Rawlins again to get him used to Scottish football asap. Probably swap the centre backs too just to give other two a game. Won’t happen so I won’t include him but I’d have Ferry in just now too.

Walton

Rawlins Iovu Graham Gilligan

Tait Sevelj Ageyi

Leiper Rose Sapsford

No arguments with that side. Be good to have the new lads on the bench although I can't imagine we will see Randall or Merghem before the Arbroath game at the earliest

Edit to say, maybe swap keepers to give them both opportunity.

That team looks good to me.

Be interesting to see if Iovu plays. Bid been made from him from Portugal. Nearly a million apparently.

Yes heard this evening there’s a bid in for him, if that’s the case I don’t think he’ll play.

Re: Montrose Vs United - Tuesday 14th July (7.45PM)

I'm posting this XI under the assumption that neither Ferry or Iovu will play as we cant in anyway hinder the 'Player Trading Model'. That comes before everything.

My XI -

...................Amissah........
Rawlins....Esselink....Graham....Gilligan
.............Tait.....Agyei....Sevelj......
......Leiper.....Rose.......Sapsford....

Subs - Walton, Metsoko, Constable, Anderson
Camara, Eskesen, Forrest, Forbes, Naamo

I've a fear that it's been decided Naamo is our new left back and we'll have to get on with it.

He should be left back in the changing room.

I've seen nothing to suggest he's the answer, unless the question is, "Who's not the answer?"

We will 100% sign a left back or ferry will be back in

Also I think there’s something in Naamo, no easy playing on the opposite side

Alan Temple said on their podcast that we were actively looking to bring in a left back.

We've signed a bucket load of players the last few summers are rarely left ourselves short in any positions. What makes you think we'd just settle for a right-footer who has barely started a handful of games for us?

Also, not sure he's had anywhere near the amount of minutes on the pitch to form a proper opinion on him. From what we've seen he is comfy on the ball and has a decent turn of pace. Regular Finland U21 international and was close to playing at the WC with Iraq. Don't understand why we talk down young players like that who could have a real impact if given the chance.

There's also the whole CLASH with Ferry thing to consider

Should he stay or should he go now

I have heard he has made it clear he wants to leave. Best thing for everyone is to get things sorted asap.

Still dont think theres any rush. United wont be sitting on their rears. They will have identified replacements for him and be ready to go, i'm sure. I'd rather get the right deal than a quick deal
