I think, the older you get, the more this thing eats you up. For me, supporting United consumes enough of my emotional capital so I become rather more objective when it comes to Scotland.
Scotland’s aim is to get out of the group stage for the first time ever. In many respects the bigger question is why we have never done it before? I would dispute that this is the most talented Scottish team to leave our shores. I don’t think it is. What I do think, is that, it the most balanced group of players, with few personal flaws who can grind out results. Watching this Scotland team play is never going to be visually pleasing, however they do have grit and togetherness.
Brazil have qualified. This tournament is a marathon, so, maybe they will conserve their energy against Scotland. As I said yesterday, luck, will always play a part.
As Ally McLeod once said “Scotland is going to educate the world in how to play football”

Don't you just love how its UK offenders when they actually really mean English ones, last I read we have more than 50,000 Scottish fans in Boston and not one single arrest.

A lot of football still to be played, a lot of hydration breaks still to be had, a lot of "Its coming home!" Still to be endured, but at the moment Scotland are top of the table for best 3rd place so hope remains 🤞

Assuming we lose to Brazil by no more than 2, then other teams results become a factor, best guessing results with conservative scores, we'd either face Germany or Mexico. (I think)
So there's that to look forward to once we meekly limp over the line.

Certain sentences will never sound right:
“Grant Hanley is going to line up to face Germany”
It’s right up there with Gennaro Gattuso’s classic:
“My wife’s from Busby”
